Herbage Country Lodges
Herbage Country Lodges have a stunning location amidst the lush rolling landscape of the ancient Saxon County of Essex. This location is ideal for those wishing to explore the many delights of Constable Country. The contemporary lodges are dotted around a peaceful 48 acres site in an area abundant with wildlife and beautiful flora and fauna. Nature lovers will be in their element as rabbits and squirrels run free and native deer graze right on the doorstep.
Each lodge has been carefully furnished to meet the needs of the most discerning visitor. The well designed interiors afford plenty of space and superb comfort with large windows making the most of the beautiful uninterrupted country views. Generous external decking areas are appointed to each lodge and all have high quality outdoor furniture from which to enjoy the views.
The local area is home to a diverse mix of stunning landscapes from lush rolling hills and picture postcard villages, to sandy beaches and trendy marinas. The popular resort of Burnham on Crouch is often referred to as the 'Cowes of the East' and is alive with yachts in boating season. The nearby town of Chelmsford is only 6 miles away and you can be in London in less than an hour.
All of the lodges are outstanding and combine contemporary design with comfort. The Bramley Lodge sleeps up to 4 and has an open plan interior and outside decking area. The Worcester is similar and also features a private hot tub. The Russet is a good choice for larger families and has one double bedroom and two twin as well as an outside hot tub. Fun Days Out in Essex

This is an amazing attraction in Southend on Sea providing fun for the whole family. They describe themselves as the UK's number one free admission park and it's great that you don't have to pay to enter this attraction. Some of the best rides in our opinion include the Dragon's Claw, Sky Drop, Vortex and Archelon. But it's not all about big adventure rides. There is plenty for the little ones to do as well with Junior rides, the Brainstorme, Cow Jump and Green Scream. Other family fun is on offer in the form of adventure golf, the Dodgems and Water Wars.

Located in the Waltham Abbey area of Essex this lovely farm will appeal to families especially those with small children. With animals including Ella and Eve the goats and Tallulah and Barbara the pigs younger children will delight in meeting and learning about the various farm animals. Other attractions on the farm include the new indoor soft play area where children can moo like a cow while whizzing down the big cow slide or dive into the ball pools. Look out for a range of activities taking place each weekend and during school holidays such as sheep shearing, bottle feeding the lambs and even pig racing. When it's time to sit down and recharge your batteries head for the Orchard Cafe or one of the ready made picnic areas.

If you like nature then the RSPB Rye Meads Nature Reserve makes a great day out. Situated in Stanstead Abbotts in Essex this place is a haven for wildlife. If you're a keen walker or bird watcher then this is certainly the place for you. Kids will also love the activities on offer including the Explorer Backpacks they can borrow full of fun things to do. Don't forget to bring a picnic! Look out for special events taking place throughout the year such as Feed the Bird days.
