Heathside Lodges

|
Heathside Lodges in Suffolk will appeal to those looking for a peaceful base to explore the local area. With a secluded setting these lodges have much to offer couples and families wanting a restful holiday but close enough to local towns should you want to get out and explore. The market towns of Southwold, Aldeburgh and Walberswick are within reach for days out with a range of shops and restaurants.
The accommodation has been well designed and we like the Blyth Lodge for couples which sleeps 2 and comes with a private outdoor hot tub. This lovely lodge also has mod cons including wifi access and flatscreen TV with freeview. The spacious living area is ideal for relaxing and the french doors leading to the private decking are a nice touch.
The Waveney Lodge is slightly larger and sleeps 4 making it a good choice for both couples and families. Brand new for 2011 this lodge is sure to be popular with a spacious open plan living area, private decking and outdoor hot tub. All of the lodges are also double glazed making them a cosy choice even in the colder months. And of course the outdoor hot tub can be enjoyed in all weathers - even snow!
The Deben Lodge is also new for 2011 and is the largest of the lodges. Sleeping 6 adults this is a spacious lodge with two double bedrooms and one twin. One of the doubles has an en suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom within the lodge. With plenty of mod cons including microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer the Deben Lodge provides a comfortable base for your stay. You will also enjoy use of your own private outdoor hot tub, as well as a balcony with patio furniture.
The local area is perfect for exploring. Some recommended days out include the Suffolk Odyssey Llamas in Halesworth less than 3 miles from the lodges, and Africa Alive in Lowestoft less than 10 miles away.

Fun Days Out in Suffolk
![]() |
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area. The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region. The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK. Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.

This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing. You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits. New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children. Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round. One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October. Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.

This is one of the most exciting attractions in the region and ideal for family days out. Located in Lowestoft in Suffolk this attraction is easy to get to. Some of the highlights include the daily feeding talks as well as the animal encounter sessions. Younger children in particular would enjoy Africa Alive! In addition to the animals there is an adventure play area called Africa Farm Barn and an indoor play area known as The Wild Zone. Recent exciting events at the park include the birth of a baby Zebra.
