High Lodge

Excellent facilities, luxury accommodation and 100 acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside – just a few reasons why we love High Lodge in Darsham. There’s a 9 hole golf course, a well stocked fishing lake – and the gorgeous beaches of Dunwich and Southwold are just a few miles away. Cycling, walking and the beautiful gardens at Bressingham and Ipswich will make this holiday one to remember!
As well as golf and coarse fishing, you can try your hand at clay pigeon shooting – there’s expert tuition available if you want it. The clubhouse and bar both serve a good variety of food and the surrounding towns and villages have an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants. We love the Lady Florence River Cruise Restaurant which sets sail from Orford for a cruise, while you enjoy either a champagne brunch or a delicious dinner.
Many of the lodges have their own hot tubs on private, furnished verandahs. Swift Lodge VIP 4 is brand new for 2012 and sleeps four people in a double bedroom and a twin. It has a flat screen TV, a DVD player and even an iPod docking station. You can take in the beautiful views across the lakes from the privacy of your own hot tub!
Suffolk is full of visitor attractions and the perfect choice (in our opinion) for a holiday. The town of Snape Maltings is a great place to visit with its interesting, independent shops and the farmers’ markets - and of course, Great Yarmouth is a bustling seaside town with lots going on. The pier is now used for regular entertainment, including stand up comedy and live music.

Fun Days Out in Suffolk
![]() |
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area. The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region. The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK. Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.

This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing. You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits. New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children. Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round. One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October. Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.

This is one of the most exciting attractions in the region and ideal for family days out. Located in Lowestoft in Suffolk this attraction is easy to get to. Some of the highlights include the daily feeding talks as well as the animal encounter sessions. Younger children in particular would enjoy Africa Alive! In addition to the animals there is an adventure play area called Africa Farm Barn and an indoor play area known as The Wild Zone. Recent exciting events at the park include the birth of a baby Zebra.
