Border Forest Lodges
Border Forest Lodges have a simply stunning location on the edge of gorgeous Kielder Forest! The lodges offer the perfect place for a relaxing holiday and are also well suited to those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. The site itself is small, friendly and welcoming and we recommend it to families, couples and groups of friends seeking a tranquil holiday base.
Close by the Northumberland National Park is the place to go for walking, cycling, fishing and water sports. The park is also popular with photographers and nature lovers due to the spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife in the region. Families looking for fun days out could head to Alnwick Castle which Harry Potter fans will recognise from the movies! This historic caste boasts a deer park, stunning gardens and children will love visiting the owls.
If a lodge with a hot tub is a top priority then the Goshawk is the one to go for. This modern and very spacious timber clad holiday home is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. There are two bedrooms, an open plan living area, external decking and gorgeous views of the brook.

Fun Days Out in Northumberland

Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples. As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there. Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

This farm will appeal to families with younger children. If you're after a fun day out then there is plenty to do here including indoor and outdoor play areas so it doesn't matter if the weather is not ideal. Other fun activities include the Pet Barn and the Pedal Tractors. Of course there is an array of cute farm animals to see as well. If you're after a bit to eat then the Barn Cafe is ideal, serving home made food made with fresh local produce.

Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
