Fun Days Out in Northumberland

Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples. As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there. Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

This farm will appeal to families with younger children. If you're after a fun day out then there is plenty to do here including indoor and outdoor play areas so it doesn't matter if the weather is not ideal. Other fun activities include the Pet Barn and the Pedal Tractors. Of course there is an array of cute farm animals to see as well. If you're after a bit to eat then the Barn Cafe is ideal, serving home made food made with fresh local produce.

Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
