Dacre Lakeside Park Reviews

"Fantastic place to stay the staff are lovely. There are many things to do that they offer. I stayed in a shepherds hut it was fantastical. The only tiny downfall is there was nothing in the room to kill the flies or nothing to stop them from coming in and with having the door open and it being warm there was a lot coming in"
Sophie - Aug 2022
"We had a fab holiday. Kids enjoyed the ice cream shop & cafe Prices of activities were really good so we took advantage and especially enjoyed the golf & footgolf. Lovely Italian restaurant on site too - food was gorgeous!"
Lynn - Aug 2022
"Lovely relaxing holiday with lots to do on site. Friendly staff, the place has a laidback feel about it. Nice little village opposite with 2 pubs a Chinese, chip shop convenience store and newsagents."
Kerrie - Aug 2022
"This place is amazing by far the best place we have stayed. Very peaceful, we went early July before the kids finished school. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of ducks that greet you when you open your cabin door, and lots of rabbits too. Lovely restaurant, bar and adventure golf. We had 3 lovely days kayaking on the lake from our own jetty which is something we have been searching for for ages. Already booked for next year along with my son and his girlfriend. Would highly recommend well worth the money."
Michael - Jul 2022
"Great week at dacre. Lodge was spotless inside & hot tub checked daily. Facilities on site were really good aswell. Great location close to beaches & local towns."
Lorraine - Jul 2022
"Park was very pleasant, though sitting on veranda was spoilt by noise from nearby main road. Lodge was very comfortable but in need of updating. However a very enjoyable week enhanced by good weather."
Jennifer - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodge with a great hot-tub. Nice vibe on the site with beautiful views. The lodge overall wasn’t overly clean, with the veranda covered in cobwebs but as a group we could see past that. Overall great place."
Bryce - Jul 2022
"This was a lovely little place to have a break away. The Shepherd's Hut was lovely and really well appointed. The only gripe we really had was that the panel on the side of the bed was really uncomfortable when getting in and out of bed. The bed itself was lovely and comfortable. One suggestion we made at Reception was that part of the selling point of his break was the hottub (which was fab, by the way), the only issue was accessibility insofar as that the entrance steps to get into the hot tub were no good for my fiancee who had a knee replacement about six months ago, so sadly she couldn't use it which was a real shame. Perhaps some sort of steps and handrail up to the side of the hot tub could be adapted. Other than that we would definitely go back, but probably opt for a lodge next time."
Andy - Jul 2022
"Stayed in the very beautiful shepherds hut (Mallard).
The Prosecco in the fridge was a lovely surprise!
Dacre lakeside park is a lovely well kept place to stay.
We had a very relaxing 2 days break.
The only downside was the awful smell from the nearby sewerage plant.
It gave me a really bad headache within half an hour of arriving, however the next day there was very little odour.
We had a lovely meal over in Berts restaurant and we would highly recommend"
Sandra - Aug 2020
"The hut was set in a good Location and very picturesque. We enjoyed our stay very much and will return in the future. There were a couple of things that could be improved as mentioned above but other than that we had no other issues."
Robert - Aug 2020
"Overall we've had a lovely week's break & the lodge is extremely comfortable. The bed was SO comfy & everything was very clean & sanitised. The outlook over the lake is a nice view to wake up to."
Richard - Aug 2020
"Our lodge, which was spotlessly clean ,was on the side of the pond in a quiet location . Perfect for a relaxing week."
Muriel - Aug 2020
"There was an unpleasant smell outside the lodge. When I raised this issue, they said that the gardener just used a fertiliser. However, the overall experience was fantastic and I would love to come back again."
Mohammad - Aug 2020
"We've already booked to return next year. Love it."
Karen - Aug 2020
"Excellent and will be back"
Helen - Aug 2020
"Impressed with the size of the lodge with three en-suite bedrooms. Right on the lakeside with lots of lovely wildlife for the children to enjoy. Lovely hot tub which is great after a busy day exploring."
Gillian - Aug 2020
"The road noise may be an issue for some but wasnt for us.
The Shepherds hut was basic but very sweet, clean and had everything we needed.
We down loaded movies on our iPad for later in the evenings as there was no tv but this made our holiday more enjoyable as we spent more time enjoying the setting than glued to a screen!
During these covid times we found local attractions were only partially open so we took more advantage of our accommodation than we normally would which made for a far more relaxing holiday as we werent rushing off somewhere every day.
The Swedish hot tub looking out onto the decking, jetty and lake make this holiday.
We would love to return again someday. Thank you"
Erica - Aug 2020
"We would definitely visit here again if we got the chance to"
Christopher - Aug 2020
"The lodge was fantastic. It had everything you needed. Wish they had a washing machine so we could stay for longer. The hot tub is as always, clean and well cared for."
Charlotte - Aug 2020
"We had a fantastic family break here, lodge 19, very big lodge, lovely and clean! Great ensuite and comfy beds. Very quiet and peaceful! Best thing was the hot tub! We didn't go to the restaurant but had a takeaway pizza from it, we had gluten free with fresh dough, they were delicious! A good sized wooden play area gor the kids aged 3 and 7. Watersports were available and my son and hubby went oj the canoes anf hired bikes which they loved. Fraisthorpe beach was a lovely find. Fish and chips in the village and a shop which sold everything. We read reviews about the sewage smell and you could smell it from time to time but to be honest we were out all day and it wasn't as bad as what has been said. All in all we had a great break amid covid-19 and we've already said we would most DEF go back!!! We've told all our friend's and family about the wonderful time we had.
It was as wonderful as I expected it to be :-)"
Barry - Aug 2020
"We had the best time! Facilities were perfect, the shepherds hut was clean and had everything we needed. Lovely helpful staff too and the setting on the lake was beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub too. We will definitely return."

Kevin - Jul 2020

John - Jul 2020
"Lovely accommodation"
Joan - Jul 2020
"Lovely couple of nights away in the Shepards hut. The hut was clean with a very comfortable bed! It was lovely being able too look over the lake. Took my partner for a surprise break for his 30th birthday, and so he could do a little bit of fishing.. he caught a pike! The only downfall was the second day after we arrived, we had no water at all, for at least 6 hours, which meant we couldnt shower, fill the kettle or top the hot tub up to use it! So we couldnt make a great amount of use of the facilities in the hut. We understand it wasnt the parks fault though in anyway it was to due to a leaking pipe in the village, also the Friday night we stayed there was a lot of noise coming from over the the wooden chalets on the lake, a lot of people shouting.. music loud, I know they were having fun as they were on holiday, but there is a noise rule in the arrival folder. But we still enjoyed and made the most of our stay, also loved the bottle of Prosecco in the fridge waiting for us!"
Jane - Jul 2020
