Strathyre Forest

Location Scotland

Strathyre Forest has a simply stunning location between the scenic lochs and breathtaking mountains of the Trossachs. The site is overlooked by the majestic Ben Ledi which provides a stunning backdrop to the lodges. All of the spacious cabins are well appointed around the peaceful forest and along the banks of Loch Lubnaig. There is no question that the area is a paradise for lovers of nature but it is also ideal for those seeking total relaxation and tranquillity.

Only 39 miles from Glasgow the lodges are ideal for short breaks and family holidays alike. Just minutes from the park a selection of watersports can be enjoyed while those who prefer to stay on dry land can enjoy fishing, walking and cycling.

There are four types of lodge to choose from at Strathyre Forest. The Evergreen is a comfortable cabin with two bedrooms and additional sleeping for two in the lounge area. The Silver Birch is a luxurious and exclusive cabin with a large verandah and private hot tub as well as stunning views. The Golden Oak is the highest quality cabin with a stylish finish and lovely forest views. It also has a log burning stove and verandah with hot tub.

Fun Days Out in Perthshire

Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Active Kid Adventure Park is the place to go if you have energetic children and are looking for a fun day out. The site boasts many attractions including a Zip Line, Target Football, Go Karts, Play Areas, Pony Rides and Crazy Golf. There are also some friendly farm animals to meet including a docile Donkey. Family tickets are just £20.00 and season tickets are also available.
