This peaceful getaway is on the banks of a mountain stream, surrounded by amazing Highland scenery. It's a great base from which to explore - Stirling and Dunfermline are both easily accessible as is Loch Leven Castle at Kinross, thought to be one of the oldest tower houses in Scotland and dating back to the early 1300s. Dollar Riverside Lodges is a fisherman's dream, but there's plenty more than superb fishing in the Southern Highlands.

About Dollar Riverside Lodges

This peaceful getaway is on the banks of a mountain stream, surrounded by amazing Highland scenery. It's a great base from which to explore - Stirling and Dunfermline are both easily accessible as is Loch Leven Castle at Kinross, thought to be one of the oldest tower houses in Scotland and dating back to the early 1300s.

Dollar Riverside Lodges is a fisherman's dream, but there's plenty more than superb fishing in the Southern Highlands. The Castle and Bannockburn Battlefields in Stirling are both fascinating to visit, and you can play golf, go dry skiing and head for the ice rink in Stirling  - and even go microlighting and tandem hang gliding in Perth.

Riverside Spa Lodge is luxurious, spacious and stylish with an open plan living/kitchen/dining area and doors that lead out onto private decking with an outdoor hot tub. It has a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player and a modern and well equipped kitchen.

Enjoy the 'Best of Scottish' food at the Unicorn Bar & Grill in Alloa - Buccleuch beef and seafood are a speciality - or take the Bo'ness & Kinnell Railway which recreates Scottish rail travel during the heyday of steam.

Dollar Riverside Lodges Reviews

"We have used these for our staff to stay in whist working in Stirling, they preferred the self catering rather than booking hotels."
Kirsteen - Jul 2015
"The lodges had everything we needed, were clean and tidy, and relatively new. Would recommend these lodges and the location."
Paul - Jun 2015
"had the best time simply stunning everything about it!"

"had the best time simply stunning everything about it!"
Paula - Mar 2015
"We stayed in lodge 1 nearest the road & it was a brand new lodge. Decor/fixtures & fittings were great - it even had a separate wine fridge. The kitchen had everything we needed except from a baking tray.
There is a large decked area at the back with outside furniture but, as we went in winter, we never used it. The hot tub was to the side of the lodge and when we arrived the owners had switched it on to start heating it up. It was lovely and warm even although it was literally freezing outside and we spent a lot of time in it. The hot tub can be noisy for those in the double bedroom at night when it's self-cleaning...we thought we hadn't switched it off properly the first night! A mention on how to switch off and to expect noise when cleaning would be helpful.
The showers were powerful and the lodge also has an en-suite bathroom.
As we went in winter we used the heating and occasionally the electric fire-both worked perfectly.
Dollar is 2 minutes in the car or ten minutes walk (but there's no pavements) and has a co-op, deli, a few cafes and restaurants. Dollar is quite fancy with its art shop & the like but the food places are fab. We also ordered a take-away delivery one night to the lodge. It's a 25 minute drive to The Kelpies so we visited them but could have also visited Stirling, Edinburgh or Glasgow with ease. As it was winter we never really explored the park or local area on foot.

All in all, we really enjoyed our trip away and would love to go back."
Laura - Dec 2014
"Fantastic facilities in the lodge and the hot tub is a winner!"
Rachel - Nov 2014
"The lodge is perfect. So comfy and feels like home, it has all the facilities you would ever need. There is supermarkets 10-15 minutes away and Edinburgh zoo is around 40 minutes away. We visited and had the most perfect weekend it was very romantic. I went with a boyfriend and came back with a fianc."
Nicole - Nov 2014
"Absolutely superb lodge."
Claire - Nov 2014
"The lodge was almost new so was very good, although there were light bulbs not working / missing. There is a dishwasher but only crockery for 4 place settings, there needs to be more. A lovely location by the water edge but surrounded by trees means leaves and birds pooh means use of the balcony will be restricted.
There was meant to be a hot tub but was not installed"

Smoo Cave - IV27 4QB
about 22 Miles
Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.

Besides the outdoor rides the site is also home to Amazonia - Scotland's only indoor Tropical Rainforest where visitors can meet loads of exotic animals. There is also a large indoor soft play area and an amazing glow in the dark bowling alley, so plenty to do if the weather is bad.
