Bulworthy Forest Lodges offer a haven of peace and tranquillity in a wonderful secluded setting in 25 acres of woodland. The lodges are well appointed around the attractive site which boasts no less than five well stocked fishing lakes.

The location is very peaceful but those seeking action and adventure as well as beautiful beaches can find them just a few miles away in the North Devon towns of Bideford Barnstaple and Torrington. There is a sandy beach just 5 miles away with shops and a pub within 4 miles.

Guests can enjoy the free carp and coarse fishing onsite while a larger selection of outdoor pursuits are available locally. The beautiful surrounding woods invite leisurely rambles and are home to an abundance of wildlife and a variety of flora and fauna.

Accommodation is in a range of stylish lodges sleeping from 4-6 people. Guests looking for luxury could opt for the top of the range Larchers Lodge which has beautiful lake views and a private outdoor hot tub. If value for money is a top priority then the Hunters Lodge is a good choice and has everything needed for an excellent self catering holiday.

Due to the steep gradients and steps Bulworthy Forest Lodges are not suitable for wheelchair users or persons with severe mobility difficulties.

As I said all that was wrong was the heating and hot water but was soon looked at and when it wasn't working we managed it didn't put us off at all

Date of stay: 30th December 2015
Accommodation type: Honeysuckle
Honeysuckle was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed and the large dishwasher was a bonus. There were a few small maintenance jobs identified and the bedding was a bit dated, but overall the lodge is well designed, really warm and having the sauna was great. We felt that the holiday was good value for money and we would go back.

This is the second time we've been to this lodge.
It's well fitted out, clean and tidy.
Bed linen and towels were provided , lovely fresh and clean.
TV's in all rooms with CD player included.
Only tiniest of snipes would be the lack of wifi ,but to be really honest it's totally worth it.
The pease , quiet and relaxing time out weighed this issue :-)
The covered hot tub is a great extra even on a cold winter day/night. :-)
Thumbs up from us all.

We stayed in Sycamore lodge which is a very well equipped lodge with extras such as a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher and also dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, towels and tea towels were provided. The appliances and furnishings were of a very high standard and it was very clean when we arrived. The beds were very comfortable and made up on arrival. I would definitely recommend this lodge although the slope up to it is very steep and we had to reverse carefully down each morning, there is little room for turning the car round at the top.
Mr H
A fantastic short break, the accommodation was first class and spotless, and if you like pheasants and wildlife on your doorstep - what a gem!
Mrs D
A beautiful hideaway holiday - I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.
Mrs C
Don’t be disappointed with the size of the ponds upon arrival, the fishing is great.
Mrs J
Excellent cabins (the hot tubs are great) and the setting is very peaceful. Only a short 5 minute drive to Tesco which was a delight as it was never busy in there. Instow, Clovelly and other tourist attractions are just a short drive away. Would be happy and have recommended the place to a few people.
Mrs S
I would definitely recommend the lodges to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet location. Our lodge was well equipped and had everything you would need for a self catering holiday or a quiet base from where to tour the surrounding area.
Mrs E
An ideal setting for a relaxing holiday. A nature lovers paradise.
Mr S
It was a fantastic place to unwind and be with nature itself, great location for all of North Devon's attractions.
Mr D
Bulworthy Forest is the ideal location if you are looking for complete peace and relaxation. It is off the beaten track but not far from the towns of Bideford and Barnstaple. Should be noted that some of the lodges are set high in the forest and the incline is very steep. We stayed in Bluebell Lodge which was high up in the forest, a very spacious lodge having 3 large bedrooms, two double (1 with ensuite) and 1 twin. The lodge was perfect for us as we were two couples holidaying together. The lodge was of a very high standard, very clean and well maintained, would definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending.
Mrs B
Great for families. My children aged 3 and 7 had a great time and loved the freedom and independance that Bulworthy Forest Lodges gave them, plus we were near great days out to the coast and family attractions.
Miss S
Bulworthy Forest Lodges is set in a beautiful, remote location where you feel you're almost in another country, yet within a few miles there are shops for you to get anything you may need. The hot tub was fantastic and kept clean and the lodge was beautiful, homely and well maintained. There was a large amount of provided necessities including all cooking utensils, plates, cups, bedding and towels and BBQ with a seating area. There was a selection of lakes available for fishing and acres of woodland to explore. The staff and owner of the site where extremely friendly and helpful and this really added to the overall experience. I would recommend this location to anyone and would love to return again soon.
