If you love the peace and quiet of the countryside, you'll love New Forest Lodges. Secluded, peaceful and tranquil, you have woodlands, heathlands and the coastline of the New Forest all within easy reach. The area is perfect for horse riding and walking and the lodges are close to the little market town of Ringwood. You can try your hand at kite and windsurfing in Weymouth Bay and Poole Harbour - or treat yourself to a truly memorable Indian meal at the Hox Brasserie in Salisbury.

There are great cycle routes in the area and bike hire is available. The lodges overlook a series of beautiful lakes so this holiday really does offer the best of both worlds - a haven away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and yet only a short drive from Bournemouth and Poole. If you've always wanted to attempt a skydive, you could head for Click Jump Skydiving in Salisbury - their team of experienced skydivers will train you and calm your nerves!

The Dorchester Lodge was brand new in 2011. We think you'll agree that it's beautiful with its contemporary interior design, wood burning stove and fantastic views across the lakes. The outdoor hot tub is on the private verandah which also has garden furniture and a barbecue - the lodge sleeps six and is fully double glazed and centrally heated.

Dorset has an amazing coastline - the Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage site, well known for its dinosaur fossils and footprints. There is a huge trail of coastal paths with stunning views across the cliffs and the ocean. Animal lovers will enjoy Monkey World and the underwater dive cage at the Oceanarium at Bournemouth and if you love shopping, The Avenue Shopping Centre, also in Bournemouth, has all the top high street stores.

Our Top Tip
"Adventure Wonderland in Bournemouth is well worth a visit. Outdoor adventure rides and fun and games await you based on the classic Alice in Wonderland story. And it's all within easy reach - just 10 miles from the lodges."

Overall our stay in the lodge was first class. The quality of the fixtures--fittings--furniture and lay out was faultless. To sit in the hot tub at 11 pm with the peace and quiet watching the stars whilst drinking bubbles we found idyllic. The 3 nights we spent there were almost perfect. There were only 3 minor things we feel would have made the our experience perfect---1), the rear sauna wall had become detached from the side wall hence there was a gap of about 2 inches all the way down. I am not sure how much difference this made to the heat but the temperature did not get to any where near what it should have done. 2) We felt that there should have been more fencing between the lodges to stop people from the other lodges walking into our area, it would only require 2 fences fitted and that would give total privacy, our neighbours and their dog walked around once and we found this intrusive. 3) I would imagine that many of the people staying in the lodges would spend some time naked in the hot tub and sauna, we did find it off putting and again intrusive that twice a day someone came and checked the hot tub. Whist we understood that this check has to be made i think it would be better if there were specific times for this visit because it could have been very embarrassing. These points did not detract from our pleasure and we will certainly be going back again this year and we have recommended the lodges to friends.

Had a brilliant time, the lodge was even nicer than the pictures look online, loved it. Spent a lot of time star gazing from the hot tub whilst our dog pottered around in the long grass! Lovely setting, the owner was a lovely helpful chap and there were nice finishing touches such as homemade cake, bread and milk. We will be coming back, magical place!

Lodge was well presented, clean and tidy - staff very helpful at all times.
The hot tub was a real plus - we used it every day, with the covered area around the front of the lodge being a great idea! Lots to do in the local area and if going further afield the local road systems are great.

Fantastic holiday, would definitely go there again. The lodge was well equipped and comfortable. My only gripe would be that although it was very clean on the surface, there was quite a lot of dust under the beds, sofas etc. Anywhere it couldn't be seen!!

What a lovely place to stay, with a nice hot tub. Very secluded but near enough to all the attractions. Friendly owners. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at these lodges. Set in a great location with loads of things to do locally. Very welcoming on arrival. Very clean. Loved the hot tubs overlooking the lake and the log fire. Would recommend Drusilla’s Inn for eating out- its around a 10-15 minute drive but the service was excellent and the food was perfectly cooked. Will hopefully come back one day soon.

We have just spent 4 days in the Wimborne Lodge. We were made to feel very welcome on a very rainy October evening and were pleased to see that what was in the brochure was a reality in the lodge. The lodge was spotlessly clean and had lots of homely extras such as flowers, a fantastic apple cake and a fresh loaf of bread with butter and jam. The owner and his family could not be more helpful and were always available for help and advice. The hot tub was fabulous and it was reassuring that regular checks throughout the day were made on the cleanliness of the tub. The lodge was lovely and the wood burning stove made it feel very cosy. We loved it there so much we have already booked our next break there!
