Ladera Retreat Lodges Reviews

"We had a fabulous stay in lodge number 1. Spacious and well presented. Kitchen has fridge freezer washing machine etcCouple of things that need attention ensuite - waterfall shower head not working and wobbling on wall.Hose to shower head loose.Everything else spot on, would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay again."
Dean - Nov 2023
"Was fab thanks, few cobwebs around the decking but was really really nice and dead posh, everything was amazing and the bed was super comfy. Hot tub lights at night were well vibey loved them. Had a good chat with our neighbours too who were very friendly. Holiday was a slay thank you"
Annie - Nov 2023
"The lodge is beautiful! Very well equipped and very clean. The views onto the lake are great and the most relaxing stay! Hot tub and BBQ facilities were great too!"
Niamh - Jul 2023
"The lodge furnishings were good (although beds were very soft) but the 3 TVs were all very old and not SMART. No welcome pack was provided (not even ice in the freezer) and we had to ask for tea towels and oven gloves. No hairdryer was provided and we asked for one but they didn't bring one. The outdoor space and furnishings were very poor. The outside table was filthy and no cushions for the seats. It was a very shaded and did not get any sun at all. The hot tub was on the side of the lodge overlooking where cars would be parked and the driveway to other lodges so not at all scenic. No lamp in the second bedroom and one of the lamps in the living room didn't work. This is billed as a luxury lodge but it really isn't."

"The view from the hot tub over the donkeys and alpacas field was so relaxing. Idyllic location and high end accommodation. So many lovely little touches from the toiletries in the immaculate bathroom to the complimentary bottle of wine and the kitchen and lodge facilities made it much better than I expected. We needed to leave a day early but I contacted Maureen who could not have been more helpful, I dropped her a text 15 minutes before leaving and she came straight over and returned our deposit and checked wed had a lovely time. I can not recommend this place highly enough."

Melissa - Feb 2018
"beautiful lodge could not fault it. only down side was organisation of staff.

when we got there no info about how to get into the gates. had to find a number and call to which we got told wait and someone will get you. about 20mins later some came and told us to follow them. She let us into the lodge was very friendly but then failed to leave us a key to our lodge. we had to call up saying we had not key and knowone at recepetion. we got told they would drop one in. not untill day 2 did we get a key. so had no choice but to leave lodge open when we went out.
We also was not told how to get in and out of the gates still we called numbe rup again (very rude staff on the end) told us a code. failed to tell us there was a fob we could use.

the staff on the end of the phone was very rude to the point where we felt like we couldnt ring again. and ask where our missing key was.

Then when we was in bed another staff member just walking in the lodge with 2 other people renting a Lodge saying "ohhh why are you in here, i have these two people in here" which we was very put out by with them just walking in.

overall more organisation need to improve and attitude of guy on phone."

"We stayed in Lodge No 4 which was immaculate, clean and very well laid out. Housekeeping met us on arrival and went through the property to ensure we were happy with everything. Hot tub was amazing. All in all a very relaxing retreat away from it all. Would definitely return."
Julie - May 2022
"A lovely lodge. Lovely and private and lovely hot tub but I'm not sure it got cleaned during the stay. Very quiet and friendly people around. Idyllic surrounds nice grounds / lakes /animals. The lodge itself was so lovely. Lovely furnishing spacious and modern. Robes which was an added bonus. Clean and everything you would need in the lodge itself. The TV sometimes lost signal but we normally find that happens anywhere we stay. Overall a lovely break and would stay again. Less than an hour away from Manchester and other nice places to visit."
Rachel - Apr 2022
"Amazing lodges with a friendly greeting. Lovely place for them to be situated. Only a few mins drive from supermarkets and a lovely town. We had the most peaceful weekend we have ever had there! All round worth the money. The only down side was we was told we would still be able to use the hot tub on the Monday as paid extra to check out late (1pm) and we couldn’t as it was emptied and filled with water above temp for people to use it. Saying that I addressed that and was promised if we returned we would be looked after and this wouldn’t happen again. We will definitely be returning in the future :)"
Natalie - Mar 2022
"Excellent location and facilities. Just perfect for our family weekend- very luxurious"
Alison - Mar 2022

The house is absolutely gorgeous and it was equipped with everything we needed ? we had a big age differed youngest 11 months - oldest 75 but every person was so pleased it’s so idyllic. Also all the ground staff where Amazing and even the residents were really friendly. Thankyou again hopefully we will be back soon ? xx"
Margaret - Mar 2022
"We stayed here for my daughters 11th birthday and for business what a beautiful setting, fantastic customer service and outstanding accommodation Highly recommend! Will be returning in the future Lana"

Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 19 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB

Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT
about 26 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.

The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. Group booking discounts are available.
Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 27 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Blue Planet Aquarium - CH65 9LF
about 28 Miles
Fantastic attraction in the Cheshire region suited to family days out as well as school and corporate visits.  The "Jawsome" sharks are a sight to behold and new for 2010 is the Tarantula Tower.  You can save time and money by bookings online and at the moment they are offering a discount of £2.00 per person when you book this way.  Winner of the Visit Chester and Cheshire Best Tourism Experience of the Year - you can be assured of a fun and educational day out.  Look out for special events throughout the year including Boo!
