Brilliant. We have booked again for Christmas.
We stayed in one of the Badger cabins. The cabin itself was great, really authentic looking and with wooden furniture inside it was exactly what we wanted. The four poster bed was comfy and so was the leather sofa (perfect for afternoon naps!). The bathroom was clean and the shower and toilet worked fine. The underfloor heating was incredible, coming in from the harsh cold into what felt like a sauna! We even had to turn it down a couple of times! The surrounding area was great, you could say it was in the middle of nowhere but we went on plenty of nice country walks without any distractions (Although we did end up driving to a few places/shops as they were out of walking distance). The hot tub was amazing, much more spacious than we thought, better than a lot of Spa hot tubs! As it is kept on 24/7 you dont need to wait for it to heat up, just plunge straight in! The jets work well and you can change the colour of the lights - its difficult to find the motivation to get out once youre in! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need; we bought food from the nearest Asda and ate-in for 2 of 3 the nights we were there. The on-site staff were very friendly and helpful. There was only one minor thing that we noted. The phone signal is non-existent, we had no service or 4G throughout the stay so if you like to call people or use the internet it could be a problem (joining a wifi network was super expensive and not guaranteed to work apparently). This can be seen as a good or a bad thing I suppose. Our suggestion would be to have a direct phone line from the cabins to the reception, only to use for emergencies or for a quick question. Also the main tv could be a little bit bigger, but these are all we could think of in terms of nit picks! Everything else was just what we wanted when we booked it. We really enjoyed our weekend stay and would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for a quiet/ relaxing time away in the open air.
Had a wonderful pre christmas break with family and would definetly go back again.
Our break away was fantastic. I surprised my other half with a weekend away for his 30th birthday (9th Dec 2017).
The cabin was beautiful. It was clean, cosey, well equipped and the bed was stupidly comfortable. We really managed to relax.
The hot tub out on the veranda was awesome!
I arranged as a surprise for our friends to join us on the Saturday. The reception staff were fantastic in helping me keep this a secret. The lady on reception let them in and gave them a key to our cabin so when we returned they were there to surprise us.
Little did I know when I was planning my now fiances birthday that he was planning a proposal!!
We got engaged while the snow fell around us in the Peak District with a glow of the cute surrounding cottages' Christmas lights. To say it was perfect wouldn't be giving it enough credit. We then celebrated later in the hot tub, playing music and sipping drinks. The cabins weren't crammed in, so you honestly felt like you were the only people there.
Definitely going to return in the summer, couldn't have been happier with the whole weekend.
It was so peaceful and relaxing, only thing was that the internet connection wasn’t good in the cabins but I guess you come to a place like that to get away, it would be better if the WiFi was free instead of charge as the connection is poor, but overall the stay was prefect and exceeded expectations, staff left you alone and to have a chilled out time.
Only thing which wasn’t up to standards was that there wasn’t staff at the reception when needed.
Great break before Christmas as a present for my girlfriend lovely surroundings and friendly people
Amazing relaxing break away from it all
Excellent weekend break. Lovely surroundings peaceful with a couple of pubs short walk away. Well maintained hot tubs too.
Lovely place very nice cabin and hot tub. Very quite and relaxing. Will definatly be coming back.
Lovely December weekend break, very cosy and clean and having a covered Hot tub was great in the snow, it was our 2nd visit this year will be back next year
we have been quarry walks a few times now we have 4 kids and they love it really think its one of the best places in the country value for money internet is slow but its nice for kids to do without it for a few days
We stayed in badger 4 cabin num 32 mid dec 2017. We arrived at the cabin at around 5pm we was greated in the reception by a nice lady who welcomed us and gave us relevent info such hottub info and a site map. We drove ourselves to the cabin and shortly after we arrived we was greated by a man who showed us how to use the hottub and heating. The cabin was beautiful and was exactly as advertised. Pluses: beautiful senery, lovely cosy cabin, private hot tub, four poster bed, helpful polite staff, fully equipt kitchen, underfloor heating. Negatives: the first morning we woke by boyfriend had been laying in a wet patch as the celing was dripping water throughout the night. We went to reception where we was greeted by a different lady who took all our details and said she would send matience to have a look. We popped out to the shop and when we got back the man was walking towards us he said that leek was just condesation and to put a fan on or open the window which we didnt really want to have to do as it was mid dec and freezing outside due to the snow. The 2nd night was worse and my boyfriend ended up sleeping in another bed. The 2nd day our hottub was low of water so we asked if it could be topped up we then waited 2 and half hours for it to be topped up to be told we now had no hot water inside the cabin for an hour which initialy we was fine with but it didnt get hot until the next day resulting in having to boil several kettles and saucepans to have a bath 1 night. Overal we enjoyed our weekend the staff where all very nice and helpful. Even though the site was full it was very quite and relaxing. We would defenitly book here again.
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park. The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones. All ages are catered for here. Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis. There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event. Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre. The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild. Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA. Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you. There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
This unique farm makes a great day out for families with young children and also couples who enjoy getting out and exploring. With an array of farm animals including goats, pigs and sheep this farm is a popular attraction in the Etwall area of Derbyshire. Apart from the animals there are fun activities to take part in such as collecting and grading your own eggs and a hay play area for the little ones. The farm tea room serves drinks, cakes and light bites, the place to go when you are in need of a rest and a hot drink.
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family. From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal. The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
