Perfectly situated for exploring the delights of the Lake District, Meadow’s End Lodges is a truly tranquil holiday location, perfect for couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The contemporary lodges are set in peaceful meadowland, where walking, cruising on Lake Windermere or relaxing in your own private hot tub is the order of the day.

This gorgeous location holds a David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation - and within easy reach of Meadow’s End Lodges, you’ll find golfing, watersports and adventure days. Eaves Wood in Silverdale is perfect for cycling and walking – and you can try the Dow Crag & Coniston Walk which starts with a cruise on Coniston Water and usually takes around seven hours to complete.

All the luxury lodges at Meadow’s End have their own private hot tub on secluded private decking. We love Boreray Lodge – it’s the perfect romantic retreat. The spacious double bedroom has direct access out to the hot tub and we think you’ll love the contemporary interior design. It even has a well stocked wood burning stove to keep you cosy on those chilly evenings.

The Lake District is a beautiful part of the country It has breathtaking views and there is so much to see and do – from sailing, canoeing and water-skiing at Carnforth to taster courses in paragliding at Penrith! Arnside and Silverdale are beautiful villages with an abundance of wildlife and Ambleside is a great base for a number of scenic walks. There is an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants too.

Our Top Tip
"The 15th century New Inn at Carnforth has a great selection of locally brewed ales and a varied food menu."

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Kevin who was extremely helpful right from the start with recommendations of dog walking routes, places to go and things to do during our short stay. We stayed in Ryeland lodge which is dog friendly and even had a hose pipe at the back next to the jacuzzi to wash down our muddy dog. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, less than a mile walk into Cartmel and walking distance to one of the local shops to fulfil our bacon supply needs. We even tried to book an extra night but unfortunaley it was fully booked which was a shame but completely understandable. Overall a very relaxing holiday in a lovely resort. The only minor recommended improvement was that the jacuzzi didnt have a roof canopy which was quite annoying in the middle of a hail storm. Adam & Hannah

Lodge was lovely! A little cold in the living area, could do with a blanket for the winter months although we just used the quilt. Decking was a little slippy aswell but with the weather was to be expected

Fantastic break!!

We went mid January so although the weather wasn't great, we still managed to get out and about. The village of Cartmel is lovely and the walks to surrounding areas very picturesque (even with snow/rain!). The lodges themselves are well equipped with everything you need. They're warm and cosy, especially in winter if you get the log fire going. Staff were great - greeted on arrival so any questions we had could be quickly answered and we ordered some logs which got delivered to our door on arrival too! all in all a great little holiday/break in a beautiful lodge, with fab surroundings.
Emma
Really enjoyed the holiday, the hot tub was the best added touch. Location was fab but very dark walk at night would recommend a torch or a taxi. We received the holiday at a fab price although other seasons seem a lot more expensive. Was surprised how much wasn’t provided when we was there and even a sticky toffee pudding.
Scott
Perfect lodge, great location. Will be returing for a 3rd time.
Chelsea
Amazing stay in Texel Lodge beautifully done out and the hot tub was really amazing. Kevin couldn’t do enough for us so helpful with everything. Quiet location and relaxing weekend would definitely return in the future.

Fun Days Out near Meadows End Lodges

Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays.  See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around.  You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover.  Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe.  The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places.  You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - about 7 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - about 8 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - about 9 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
