Close to the Lake District National Park and just a short walk from the village of Aspatria, these stylish lodges have stunning views across the Northern Fells and the Scottish Hills. They overlook a pretty woodland lake, surrounded by beautiful Cumbrian countryside and there's a pub and a restaurant within walking distance.

With fishing, golf, bike hire and some wonderful walks through secluded woodland right on the doorstep, the park is within easy travelling distance of Carlisle. For some delicious food in an AA-recognised restaurant, head to Overwater Hall a few miles away in Cumbria - but remember to book first!

If you're looking for the ultimate in luxury, these lodges have hot tubs and wood burning stoves, as well as gorgeous interior design features like roof lighting and Shaker-style kitchens. Lawson lodge sleeps four people and has a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD, as well as a private patio with hot tub.

The Lake District has beautiful countryside, stunning clifftop walks and long sandy beaches as well as some delightful villages like the market town of Keswick - and Kippford, a popular sailing centre.

Our Top Tip
"Visit Carlisle Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned - and take your pick of the many pubs and restaurants locally."

We stayed in Wordswoth 2 at the end of November. The lodge was warm--the wood burner was a cheering addition to the main heating--spacious, comfortable and providing all the facilities available at home. There was a panoramic view over the lake and beyond to the Lakeland Fells. On 3 sides we had a grassy embankment which gave us privacy from other lodges. The hot tub was great, particularly at night under a star-lit sky.

Fantastic 3 day break with our friends. Both families have very young children so we needed somewhere relaxing with good facilities in the lodge. The Wellington lodge was high spec, in immaculate condition set in a beautiful site. The restaurant/bar is the golf club-house and is slightly older but provided a welcome place for a drink (we didn't eat in the restaurant so we can't comment on the food). The site is probably a 30min drive away from Keswick so not really a problem for visiting the Lakes. We can't recommend this place highly enough if you're looking for a secluded get away. We will definitely be going again.

Amazing few days at north lakes, not one complaint! Lodges are immaculate, very spacious and private. Smart tv’s in every bedroom as well as sound system. Hot tub was so relaxing. Staff bend over backwards to help with anything. Will definitely be returning!
Kirsty
Me and my family have stayed in many lodges and north lakes tops them all brilliant holiday, loved everything about it and also spotless too. We would love to return but we now have a new puppy and the park doesn't accept dogs unfortunately.
Martin
Luxury in every sense
Laura
Spent new year in the Wordsworth 02 with my husband and 3 children and everything we needed was in the lodge with staff helping with anything else needed, would love to return in summer
Catherine
Fabulous place! The lodges and the hot tubs are so private, we didn't see anyone else. High quality throughout, we hope to come back soon.
Andrew
Great place, can’t wait to go back! We didn’t go to the restaurant, which was shame as the food looked really nice.
Nicola
Best lodge we have stayed at! Beautiful and very well equipped. Staff couldnt be more helpful. Lovely meal in the onsite restaurant. Best way to bring in the new year! Would highly recommend and we will definately be returning.
Kaye
Lovely relaxing Christmas break. Stunning lodge equipped with everything you could possibly require. Private location
Elizabeth
Beautiful lodge, well equipped, lovely surroundings
Gerard
Great place to stay and relax, smaller lodge than the ones we'd previously stayed in but still first class. The hot tub not being covered in was a concern but it was lovely chilling under the stars, we'll certainly be back in the future.

Fun Days Out near North Lakes Lodges

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - about 21 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Mabie Farm Park - about 22 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
