Golden Cross Lodges Reviews

"It amazing place lovely stay will be going back they next year"
Mark - Apr 2024
"Holiday feedbackThe holiday was sold as a Hoseason's "Holiday Park" when in fact it was a small field containing 30 very tightly squeezed together caravans. There were no facilities at all other than bins and we saw no staff whatsoever. We were told we had to be there by 8pm latest so after finishing work made a mad dash to get there by 7.44 (phew!) only to discover that we could have arrived at any time at all.We found our caravan and parked up on a small gravel strip by the caravan, so small that when we opened the car doors we both stood in wet, soggy mud and grass which we then trudged through the caravan. There were some good points:1) Caravan was clean and tidy 2) Lovely and warm3) Good size TV4) Lovely, clean hot tubbut there were several things which made it not worth the money:1) The lounge/kitchen/diner floor was so soft and wonky I kept feeling as if I would fall through the floor at any moment and as someone with mobility/balance issues I was forever stumbling.2) No storage room for food except the fridge freezer - I had to cram crockery into 1 cupboard to make room3) Ridiculously tiny side plates and bowls - we're not children! I went out and bought 2 adult size bowls for us4) The boiler was in the main bedroom and was going on and off all night and a sign saying do not touch so I couldn't turn it off for the night. I ended up sleeping in the other bedroom3) Bedside cabinet drawers have no stoppers on them so the first time I pulled one out it came out all the way and landed on my foot - ouch!4) Entry/exit doors were very stiff, clearly needs maintenance5) You couldn't alter the temperature on the hot tub6) The exterior of the caravan was very dirtyWould I go again - no, never. This was very clearly an old, past its best caravan which was worth about £100 pw at most"
Shelley - Mar 2024
"Not cheap and this caravan not as nice or big as Selby one. Also no bath."
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"Pictures did not do it justice! Lovely little cabin with everything you needed. Good value for money. Only slight downside was the hot tub was super hot and you cant amend the temperature however not the worse problem you can have. All utensils are well equipped, we cooked every day in there and there was plenty of everything. Reception said that there isnt enough space or any visitors parking for us to bring two cars so we managed to cram everything in one car however there is a little space just outside the park. Would stay here again!"
Naomi - Nov 2023
"There was nobody in reception to speak to Butt. We did ring the main office or CallCenter and they were very helpful and sorted out Aaron. Shes very quickly and satisfactorily"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"The lodge itself was huge and very clean and the site was nice and peaceful. Fantastic value for money"
Keith - Jun 2023
"very good break"
Tracy - May 2023
"Golden Lodges is a lovely little site in a good location close to Coastal Towns Eastbourne, Bexhill, Pevensey, Hastings and Brighton."
Neil - Aug 2020
"Great for relaxing as no facilities on the park, we loved the hot tub to relax in the evenings"
Gary - Aug 2020
"Nice little break just the few things mentioned would have helped. Hot tub was perfect."
Gary - Jul 2020
"The Lodge itself is well presented and had two double bedrooms. As we were mother and daughter was requested both beds made up as doubles. Bathroom was small but worked for us, the shower was perfect, really good pressure and temperature. The site provided 1 x loo roll, towels (1 x hand towel and 2 x bath towels) and hand soap. The Kitchen is well equipped with all you need including a microwave. The site provided a tea towel, scourer, but we also took our own. There was a dining table and 4 x chairs, with placemats. The lounge has two sofas with cushions, nest of two coffee tables and TV on a unit. We bought our own laptop / DVD player and plugged in with ease to the TV via our own HDMI cable. Patio doors led on to the patio with a small square table and 4 chairs in rattan. Hot tub was maintained daily, usually around 9am and we made use of this every evening. Two steps to climb in. Water was really warm, sometimes a bit too warm but all in all perfect for us. There is one car parking space right next to the front door."
Alison - Jul 2020
"Lovely cottage in a peaceful surrounding, totally relaxed and although we were lucky to have nice weather we would definitely consider going in the colder months. Staff very helpful if you need anything, things to do nearby or small drive but staying in the cottage just to get away is worth the visit too."
Paula - Jul 2020
"Stayed in lodge 4 which was spotless clean. I would give it a 10/10 but the single beds in 2nd bedroom were tiny - way too small for an adult or even teenager. Tip for those who are planning to visit: if you want to cook take your own frying pan an the one on site is tiny - barely fits to eggs to fry."
Pawel - Jul 2020
"Brilliant would definitely recommend"
Sarah - Jul 2020
"Perfect stay and would rate this lodge 10/10. As we went of peak, the value for money was unbelievable with it costing less than £75 a day which doesn't get you much these days.

I have only 3 little suggestions for the lodge (which are not criticisms as we were still 100% satisfied with our stay)

1. Better TV service and channels. We couldn't find more than 3 or 4 channels that worked properly and even they were very pixelated. It was maybe an ariel issue but we didn't bother worrying about it.

2. No complimentary robe and slippers. I know more pricy lodges offer this so we didn't expect this for the price we paid.

3. WI-FI wasn't strong enough to support YouTube on smart phones"
Ifraz - Mar 2020
"My friends and I loved the relaxing atmosphere and the chance to chill and catch up"
Becky - Mar 2020
"Was good the only thing I think needs changing was the sofas they are little and low ."
Tracy - Mar 2020
"Great lodge and tub. Better than the photos. Plenty spacious. Rooms were very well presented."
Andrea - Feb 2020
"That was amazing time, worm in loges, comfortably bed and amazing hot tub!"
Justinas - Dec 2019
"Overall experience was amazing and superb value for money, lodge 7 has the best privacy when in the hot tub from what I see"
Verified Guest - Nov 2019
"Loved our break hear. It was clean, comfortable and great value for money."
Gail - Nov 2019
"Lovely relaxing stay."
Belinda - Nov 2019
"After a long drive (from Birmingham!) we couldnt have been happier when we arrived! The hot tub was ready and waiting and everything was fresh and clean. A lot more spacious inside than it looks too! Only 2 things to moan about... the kettle needed a good descale. I had to wash it out over and over again before we could use it. Also, it was so hot!!! The thermostat worked fine for the rest of the lodge but there was a radiator in the open plan living room that wouldnt switch off! It was unbearable at times and my daughter touched it by accident and actually screamed! Other than that, wed defo recommend it!!!"
Nicole - Oct 2019
"Brilliant. Cant wait to come back again .just what we needed time together and so peaceful ."
