About Blackwood Forest Lodges

Tucked away in 270 hectares of beech trees, Blackwood Forest has atmosphere in spades. It really is unique - a retreat surrounded by nature and well away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The park sits within the Forestry Commission Estate and there are loads of walks and bike rides right on your doorstep.

Blackwood Forest Lodges has a coffee lounge and shop, and its own site ranger who can take you on guided walks and activities. Hampshire is renowned for its unspoilt beaches and seaside towns, such as Bournemouth and Southampton, which are full of lively cafés, bars and restaurants as well as a host of entertainment venues.

Golden Oak Hideaway is ideal if you're getting away for a romantic break; it's been built exclusively for a couple and has panoramic views of the forest. The ensuite bathroom has a sunken bath big enough for two and you can enjoy lounging in the hammock, relaxing in the outdoor hot tub - or staying cosy by the log burning stove.

The historic dockyard at Portsmouth is a great place to visit - you can take a stroll around the Mary Rose, which sat at the bottom of the sea for almost 450 years!

Blackwood Forest Lodges Reviews

"Lovely lodge, good size for 5 of us, good facilities, but could do with more dishes to use in the microwave and a can opener.
Otherwise it was better than we anticipated."
Sara - Mar 2020
"A great place for a gathering and enjoying the location"
Gareth - Mar 2020
"I gave the comfort a 9 only because the thermostatically controlled heating was a bit off. The living areas and two twin bedrooms were often too warm and the back bedroom cool but Im sure that can be fixed. Otherwise we really enjoyed everything thank you."
Nina - Nov 2019
"WOULD DEFINITELY BOOK AGAIN , GREAT FOR A FAMILY WEEKEND WITH ALL AGES ATTENDING"
Karen - Nov 2019
"The lodge was simply furnished with high quality goods and ornaments. Small touches like the hidden owl were perfect. It has to be said that the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever had whilst on holiday."
Susannah - Oct 2019
"After double checking the above , thinking of going back for Christmas."
Lesley - Sep 2019
"Great. Cant wait to return"
Joanne - Sep 2019
"If you want to get away and do nothing this is the place to go and just unwind "
Vanessa - Aug 2019
"Our break was very short and shortened by the August traffic which delayed our arrival, and a family party in Kent to attend for one of the days. Would be happy to book one of these lodge holidays again for a relaxing break."
Rosemary - Aug 2019
"Every thing great and comfortable except low un-supportive sofa's which gave you back ache after a short sit."
Michael - Jul 2019
"Excellent. The organisation, the setting, the amenities, the closeness of lots of interesting things to do - all this made it a fabulous holiday"
Clifford - Jul 2019
"Already planning my third visit! The best way to relax :)"
Alice - Jul 2019
"Very relaxing peaceful holiday"
Yvonne - Jun 2019
"Brilliant package. Great weekend away to spend quality time with friends. Would definatly recommend."
Shannon - Jun 2019
"Great place to hide away in peaceful forest location perfect for relaxing."
Ruth - Jun 2019
"A must go place, you wont be disappointed. Nor will your doggies or children"
Michael - Jun 2019
"Overall great. No wi fi & no welcome pack (tea etc) are the only let downs."
Lorraine - May 2019
"Great place to stay shared the tree house with friends, did lots of activities had a excellent holiday
Peaceful and relaxing, great hot tub and friendly staff"
Jane - May 2019
"Awesome holiday, especially enjoyed the hot tub & lodge facilities. We will return!"
Emma - May 2019
"As i said above all was excellent except the cleanliness of the lodge"
Carol - Mar 2019
"Loved it so much, good for those who want a peaceful, relaxing holiday I deal if you love walking or have a dog"
Sarah - Feb 2019
"We loved the lodge it was lovely and spacious. It was pretty clean but found tooth paste residue on some tiles, the back of one of the bedrooms doors had white stuff splashed up it. Some of the cutlery and dishes had to be cleaned before using and we had 1 hand towel between 6. Requested some to be delivered but they were never received.
Other then that it was great and considering the weather the staff done an amazing job getting in and out.
We had a really fun time and loved the hot tub !!"
Kelly - Feb 2019
"If only it was cheaper we would go there a lot more, but we loved it"
Dene - Dec 2018
"Could have done with a desk/table in addition to the dining table."
Kathleen - Nov 2018
"It was so great. Im planning to take the whole family over Christmas"
Jane - Oct 2018
"Just a fantastic place!!"
William - Sep 2018
"Amazing lodge would 100% go back there"
Helen - Sep 2018
"An ideal getaway, quite pricey but would probably do it again."
Karen - Aug 2018
"A few soft furnishings would deaden the sound a bit more, eg, a rug. Loved how dark it was at night as I'm not a good sleeper and need a very dark room. I've never been anywhere this dark.
Can I suggest that you put yoga videos on the tv and hire out mats. There's lots of space and a real feeling of retreat in the forest."
Lorraine - May 2018
"Lovely cabin but too remote for our liking. Everything on site, bar, restaurant etc closes at 8.30pm which we did not know prior to our visit. It would have been nice to have an evening at the bar as the closest town was a 20 minute drive away."
Paula - Oct 2017
