If you're looking for a blissful retreat, with indulgent spa treatments and a hydrotherapy pool on your doorstep, then Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is for you. The stylish accommodation is set within a haven of natural beauty on the Dorset/Devon border and boasts fabulous views over the Axe Valley. Just a short drive from Axminster and Lyme Regis, this is the place to relax and recharge.

The Ezina Spa has three treatment rooms as well as a gym, relaxation room, sauna and Hammam style steam room. You can take your pick from fitness classes, yoga and Pilates and when you've finished being pampered, enjoy a deliciously healthy dinner in the Bistro style restaurant which also has a luxurious bar and sun terrace.

We love the Austen Premier, a contemporary and spacious lodge with a large decking area, where you can relax in your private hot tub after a luxurious spa day. It has two king sized ensuite double bedrooms and two twin rooms as well as a spacious family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The lounge and kitchen is open plan and beautifully designed.

Lyme Regis is nestled around the mouth of the River Lim, and sits between the Undercliff National Nature Reserve and the stunning Blue Lias cliffs. The town has a wealth of independent shops selling gifts, clothes and jewellery. It also boasts a number of beaches and some lovely walks along the River Lym.

We arrived at Hawkchurch Resort & Spa and was made to feel welcome straight away. The lodge was fantastic, clean and so comfortable that we have booked again for Christmas 2018
Becca
Loved this place and have booked again for next Christmas. The only thing I would say was a little disappointing was being unable to stream Netflix and Now tv through our chrome cast on the tv, I think the internet wouldn’t allow streaming and was kinda the plan for a chilled cozy Christmas in the lodge , we had to use our 4G on our mobile devices which wasn’t ideal. This part was the only let down. We have stayed at other resorts of the same company and not had this problem before at the sister retreat in Canterbury. But the lodge itself was lovely and everything we needed and the hot tub was great!!

I am very impressed with the standard of the lodges. Every little detail has been taken care of and I couldn't have asked for more. My stay was over the Christmas period and if I could find one negative then a small Christmas tree in the lodge would have been a nice finishing touch, I would have even been prepared to pay a fee for this if this had been offered as an optional extra.
Dawn
Lovely place the lodge was very spacious ample for two people .we went for Xmas
Steve
Excellent-peaceful surrounds and plenty of things to do within a few minutes drive. Second time here and certainly won’t be the last

Loved our Christmas get away. We had stayed at the same park in the summer so we knew what to expect. While we were their in the summer we booked it for our Christmas get away as we loved it so much. A super quality park, the lodges are lovely and well equipped. Dishwasher, washing machine, microwaves all the kitchen mod-cons. We loved having our own hot tub, and this will probably mean that for future UK holidays we look for something similar. It felt extra luxurious and special to us having such a good quality place to stay over Christmas. We even brought our own Christmas tree and decorations to put up. The area its in has lovely views and the park itself is well kept. The local area has so many things to explore and do, you could do something new everyday if you wanted. We really had a lovely relaxing time and we will be coming back I am sure.

Fun Days Out near Hawkchurch Resort And Spa

Bicton Park and Gardens - about 18 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster.  Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship.  Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - about 22 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
