With stunning views across the countryside, and set in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa offer beautifully furnished lodges and a host of activities to suit people of all ages. The park nestles on the slopes of the Mendip Hills, close to Wells, Weston-Super-Mare and Street.

There's a magnificent tropical indoor pool as well as a fully equipped gym and health club. The kids will love to try their hands at target shooting, fencing, WaterWalkerz, sea scooters, raft building and snorkelling and there's also a soft play area and a Go Juniors activity programme. You can hire bikes at the park and set off to explore this part of Somerset.

Axbridge Lodge Premier is brand new for 2013 - it sleeps up to six people and has been decadently designed with every comfort in mind - a master double bedroom with ensuite power shower, 40" flat screen TV and patio doors that lead out onto a decking area with a sunken outdoor hot tub.

Ashton Windmill at Axbridge is an 18th century flour mill with great views over Cheddar Gorge and of course, the Caves themselves are well worth visiting, with their mirror pools, stalagtites and stalagmites.

Our Top Tip
"There are lots of good local pubs serving food too, from the Old Thatched Cottage at Weston to the Hole in the Wall in Bath."

Lovely lodge - great hot tub, lovely cosy vibe - just needs a few extra standalone hangers for dressing gowns and / or heavy coats.

We would definitely come back for a long weekend although we're trying Finlake in May for a week as more to do with the children.

Excellent lodge, would definitely recommend.

Being the second time here we had a great time for Christmas and will be coming back .
Chantal
This was a great holiday which we thoroughly enjoyed. The reason for the low score in value for money is that it is hugely disheartening after paying more than £1700 to see the same break advertised at half price. This means we will not book early again.
Sharyn
We love it here, it is so relaxed and lovely. We stayed in a different lodge this time and it wasn't quite as luxurious as the previous one but still had everything in it you could possibly need. We will be back .
Rebecca
We had a fantastic stay. The lodge was beautiful, there were a few items with general wear and tear, as expected. We used the hot tub everyday, cooked and ordered takeaway from a local Indian. The kids loved the pool and opted for the sea scooters activity. I loved the sauna and steam room (at no additional cost), it was a perfect chance to have 10mins to myself. We had a deal so it was great value for money! Thank you.
Siobhan
Lovely lodge in a gorgeous setting - modern, clean facilities and very helpful staff - great little restaurant and bar - friendly atmosphere - spa facilities were excellent and the staff were very professional and welcoming - all in all, a lovely break over the Christmas period to recharge the batteries.
Diane
