Where's Piperdam Lodges?
Laura and Ian Watson
My husband treated me to a weekend here as a surprise and i was over the moon. I dont think i have ever stayed anywhere this luxurious and having our own hot tub was amazing. The health club and swimming pool were spotless and always quiet and the resteraunt food was out of this world. Cant wait to go back.
Mrs and Mr Stones, Yorkshire
Our first time to Scotland and our first time staying in a lodge. what an amazing experience! The lodge was nicer than i ever could have imagined it even had a hot tub which was a lovely surprise. My husband is outdoorsey and enjoyed fishing on the loch and a round of golf. While he did that i chilled out in the pool and spa. We never went far from the site as it had everything we needed. The conservatory served some of the best food we have had anywhere the grilled lamb cutlets were to die for.
Paul mcmanus
Piper dam is one of the best places in Scotland to go and stay for a short time but the food is so good you will never beat it and the view is so nice might not leave piper dam. But the rainbow plus six lodge is big in side it has a tv kitchen shower and more plus a hot tub for you to sit in go and try Shotting range quads archery play park pool gym driving range tennis golf club/pro shop weddings/&functions reception. i will be back.

Date of stay: 6th August 2018
Great relaxing holiday in a beautiful location, loads to do on site, meaning you don't need to go out of the complex much. Looking at booking for next year again.

Date of stay: 30th July 2018
Beautiful lodge, I could not fault it. Had a perfect weekend and I will definitely be booking again!
John, Brigg
Date of stay: 30th July 2018
Lodge was lovely.
Jonathan, North Yorkshire
Date of stay: 30th July 2018
The Lochside lodge was huge! 2 large bedrooms with separate on-suites, and 2 large bedrooms upstairs with 2 single beds in each with access to a large sink area and large soaking tubs/toilets on each side of the sink area. The lodge is perfect for a large family or 2 families sharing the lodge. :)
The spa was amazing and checked daily. The view of the loch was incredible, especially seeing the swans every day. The play barn with most of the GO active activities can easily be walked as it was very close to the lodge and the main reception, outdoor playground, pool, and restaurant can be walked as well, just a little bit further away. The lodge even had wifi and the TVs in the living room and kitchen were smart enabled so you can even punch in your Netflix password and watch (just have to remember to log out before you leave!)

The only things to keep in mind when visiting was: no dish soap or dishwasher detergent, sponges, or drying towels, so those would have to be purchased separately. (There's a Tesco and Asda only a short drive away) The beds were quite firm, which didn't bother most of the family, but something to keep in mind.

Amazing holiday! Thank you so much!
Lorraine
Date of stay: 27th July 2018
Lovely place which was made even better by the lovely weather!!!
Our son & future daughter-in-law have booked their wedding for July 2019
Christopher, Banbury
Date of stay: 23rd July 2018
Very good. It would have been helpful to have some washing up liquid and a pan scourer in the lodge hence the score of 9 instead of 10
Ashton, Alford
Date of stay: 23rd July 2018
Superb lodge in an exceptional setting. Great value for money and a very relaxing holiday
Geoffrey, N.yorkshire
Date of stay: 23rd July 2018
A first class luxury lodge. Really enjoyed our week there
Clare, Hawick
Date of stay: 20th July 2018
Lodge was feature packed (apart from WiFi) and perfect for our stay. Staying there for a week, I did have to wash the towels on numerous occasions and the bedding could have done with being changed. I also had to sweep the floor daily and mop it 3 or 4 times, due to the time of year creating a lot of pine needles entering the lodge.Flies were also an issue
Kathleen, Ayr
Date of stay: 20th July 2018
The lodge was adequate but the furniture was well worn and large marks on the carpets.
Ann, Isle Of Lewis
Date of stay: 16th July 2018
An excellent holiday, basic cleaning items (cloth, detergent) would have been helpful.
John, Alloa
Date of stay: 16th July 2018
Place was good for adults a thought but not a place for kids unfortunately as it has so much potential as it has to perfect location.
Brian, Rothes
Date of stay: 16th July 2018
Lodge could have been cleaner. That's why we would have liked to have the choice of being pet free when booking
Helen, Dalkeith
Date of stay: 13th July 2018
Lodge was nice and big, lots of space in living area but floor could have been cleaner.
Rooms a good size and beds comfortable
Jonathan, Glasgow
Date of stay: 9th July 2018
Fantastic lodges, would highly recommend.
Ruth, Glasgow
Date of stay: 9th July 2018
Would definitely visit again and although I gave the facilities a slightly lower score this was purely down to the absence of cutting knife set.
Holly, Glasgow
Date of stay: 9th July 2018
The cabin was great, the only downfall was there wasn't any instructions for the Sauna and when we figured out how to work it it just didn't heat up at all and didn't work so we didn't get to use this which was quite disappointing. Other than that the cabin was a lot more spacious than it looks in the pictures, I personally don't think the pictures do it justice. The hot tub was great. Maybe if you get more than one toilet roll and some washing up liquid it would also be a bit better! Other than that it is great value for money. I would advise them to get rid of carpets as well as when you are coming in and out from the hot tub the carpets end up soaking.
Rebecca, Fife
Date of stay: 6th July 2018
Great for family time, hot tubs at the lodge are a plus!
Carol, Glasgow
Date of stay: 2nd July 2018
Couldn't fault any of it and I said previously we cant wait to come back. Highly recommended.
Ellizabeth, London
Date of stay: 29th June 2018
What a delight to be in one of the new lodges, away from all the trees that can block sunlight from half the lodges on site.
Susan, Glasgow
Date of stay: 29th June 2018
Great relaxing place to spend some quality time with family.

Marked the furniture & fittings down as some of the furniture had some obvious wear and tear marks ( leather sofa had been torn and sown back together again. Corner cupboard door in kitchen quite loose and looked as though it was hanging off, TV remote missing back cover for batteries)

Cleanliness marked down as the wooden floors upstairs were pretty grubby, within an hour of arrival our 2yr olds feet were not just dirty, they were black! Carpets downstairs in the bedrooms could be doing with a freshen up, several marks/stains.
Simon, Airdrie
Date of stay: 29th June 2018

Martin, Berwick Upon Tweed
Date of stay: 1st June 2018
We had the Rainbow Executive lodge with hot-tub and a sauna, both of which were excellent. Lodge was very roomy and well equipped. (Could have been a bit cleaner, dirt/dust on cooker hood and cobwebs on lounge lights) Ignored these things and had a great week. Even learnt archery which was brilliant as was the instructor.
Lorraine, Airdrie

Date of stay: 6th April 2018
Fantastic, unforgettable holiday.
Graeme, Dumfries
Date of stay: 6th April 2018
A very good lodge with adequate space and good fixtures and furniture. There were no coat hooks anywhere in the lodge to hang any coats etc when coming in. Very good wardrobe space but only 2 coat hangers. No toilet roll provided at all. Very squeaky floorboards
Just small things that if provided would have made our stay more pleasant and raised our score
John, Loanhead
Date of stay: 6th April 2018
Wonderful so relaxing and private.
Philip, Airdrie
Date of stay: 6th April 2018
The lodge was lush and modern.
Leona, Aberdeenshire
Date of stay: 2nd April 2018
The road up to the newer lodges is full of potholes that can't really be avoided. I suspect this is a work in progress. The Byron lodge itself is beautifully designed and decorated with fixtures and fittings of a high standard. One flaw we felt however is unlike the Muirloch lodges which have 2 doors into the bedroom (one dedicated door and the other via the bathroom) the Byron lodge has one door which goes into the bathroom from the living area meaning if your partner is in the bathroom you are trapped at either end. As these are essentially "couples" lodges this isn't a major issue however if you come away for a romantic weekend you don't particularly want to have to walk by your partner on the toilet.....it kind of ruins the magic.
Linda, Clydebank
Date of stay: 30th March 2018
Great Big bed best sleep had yet in hoseason parks. Shame that shower temp dial impossible to regulate either burning or freezing gave up. No coat hangers in wardrobe when we did get coat hangers laughed at poor cheap quality and only 4 supplied. Iron board was broken got new one but again cheap and nasty. Disappointed that no washing up liquid, dish wash tablets, cloth or tea towels available as have been available in other parks we have used. Could do with a couple of hooks on back of bathroom doors absolutely no where to hand towels. Only one cheap nasty toilet roll warn people to bring their own. Won't be back to Piperdam. Will go back to Hunters Quay never let down there.
Heather, Aberdeen

Date of stay: 26th January 2018
I really loved it. It was actually a sort of delayed Christmas present for me and all the family. Best thing about it was by far the excellent staff followed by the excellent accommodation. Weather was a bit rotten but well we are in Scotland so it should be expected. I am going to save up my money and take the family back at the summer time. I'm sure it will be totally amazing. I think you are doing an absolutely amazing job.
Fiona, Wishaw

Would recommend the lodges
The flooring in our lodge was quite old and could have been doing with being replaced and the sofa was quite badly damaged (parts of leather off) but would go back
Claire
Date of stay: 19th January 2018
Good sized lodge for two person use. Not too close to neighboring lodges.
Fenced off area for hot tub. Hot tub clean & well maintained.
All kitchen appliances & mod cons.
Only negative was no washing up/ cleaning stuff. Only one toilet roll ( not even a new full one) I know this is self catering but most previous places provide these items.
Bathroom, was large but no hooks for hanging towels, dressing gowns etc and shower cabinet was in need of a deep clean (ie shower heads and cabinet edges)
Overall was very nice.
Michael, Glasgow

Carpets were quite dirty. However, do understand in winter months it can be difficult to keep clean, although I always removed my footwear before entering the main living area.
Leanne, Clackmannanshire
Date of stay: 8th January 2018
Marks on sofa and dressing table chair. Also sauna not working on arrival.
Conway, Glasgow
Date of stay: 3rd January 2018
Lodge was just what we were looking for to get away. Paperwork sent before holiday told us all we needed to bring. Hot tub and sauna were fantastic. Wifi in lodges would be nice but was also a good break away from that sort of thing. Potholes in road were ridiculous, luckily we were near the start of resort so didn't need to drive through them often. The first bit of road that had been redone was great. Swimming facilities and mini jets were great. Staff at soft play were really nice but a bit taken aback to have to pay nearly £5 each for a 2 and 3 year old especially as we had a lodge. Really think people staying at the resort should get in free or at a discounted rate.
Carol, Dalgety Bay
Date of stay: 29th December 2017

Kitchen appliances could do with being replaced. The washing machine did not work properly and I could not make out the markings for the oven therefore was unsure what temperature it was at or if I was using oven or grill. Pots and pans were also past there best.

Date of stay: 10th November 2017
We (my wife, our 2,5 yr old son and me) spent 4 nights in the Rainbow Executive Lodge (no.71) which we really enjoyed. The lodge is very spacious and the hot tub is great. There are a couple of dirt marks on the carpet as soon as you enter the open plan living room but everything was clean. The shower tray in the double bedroom's bathroom - coating seems to be chipped a bit but nothing major.

Overall we enjoyed your stay at piperdam although we did not eat in the restaurant as the prices were very expensive I meant £27 for a steak when you can get 2 for £7 from Morrisons which we did, you REALLY need to think about lowering the price of your food to get people into the restaurant, when we were they it seemed the the restaurant was not being used to it full potential.

We stayed for 4 nights. The lodge was very spacious and beds very comfortable. There were 9 of us but we never felt like we were on top of each other. Everyone loved the hot tub and sauna. The kitchen was looking a bit worn and tired but I think it was in line for a refurb after we left. Plenty of activities for the kids and big kids to do. Shame the soft play wasn't free to residents as people tend to buy drinks and snacks while you're there.

Date of stay: 21st August 2017
First off.....the road to the lodges. Great if you have a tractor or all terrain vehicle. Bad if your car is fully laden with suitcases or have a sports car. There must be overt 100 deep deep potholes. We ended up driving over the grass verges where we could! We reported it to reception but they already knew that lots of people have complained about how bad the road has been over a long period of time but the management have not done anything about it. We would not go again because of this. That said the rest of the holiday resort is really good with very helpful friendly staff. Facilities were great and lots to do. We stayed in a Raeburn with hot tub which was just spacious and lovely. A blue light for the flies or fly paper is a must though as we had literally dozens of the buggers every day. They have a local fly problem! Take fly paper or fly spray
Kayley, Newcastle Upon Tyne

We stayed in the wrong lodge-the lodge we should have been in was newly refurbished so where we stayed was due to be updated. Still nice but a little few areas need to sorted and I'm sure it will be lovely in the future!

The lodge was a great size. When we arrived it wasn't greatly cleaned. There was tomato sauce on the counters. Inside the cupboards were really dirty. We had to go and buy a pair of scissors, measuring jug and a roasting tin as these were not ptovided.

Date of stay: 11th August 2017
Fantastic. The lodge was very spacious. Some if the furniture though was a little tired though and could possibly be doing with being renewed.... such as the sofas. But overall we lived the layout of the lodge and the bedrooms were cosy and comfortable. Loved the fact they were wooden walls.
Carrina, Dunoon
Date of stay: 7th August 2017
Other than the flies that were really bad in our area we had no complaints. Although we did report the fly problem to reception and was told something would be done and it wasn't. Also we were promised a washing machine online and the lodge did not come with one

Date of stay: 4th August 2017
Our lodge was clean and comfortable apart from the shower door in the en suite which had black slime along the bottom . The hob looked as if it was new but the oven was terrible. It was difficult to see the numbers and settings so it was a guess if it was on right setting. When you opened oven door to check the food the temperature went from 200 to 100 and took ages to get back up to temperature. We gave up cooking and threw all the food in bin.
Gail, Forfar
Date of stay: 4th August 2017
The lodge was bright and spacious and very comfortable. The carpet and lounge furniture could have been cleaner but having had dogs there etc. this was acceptable. There were a couple of kitchen appliances that needed attention and we did mention these to reception in case they thought we were responsible. Overall very comfortable, the bed was amazing, and lots of storage space etc.

Piperdam is a very short drive to Dundee city centre, cooperative petrol station close by and also an Asda. My husband and I had a great time and also our little dog enjoyed the walks, a lovely country park called Camperdoon also close by. The pub has lovely comfy seats and good atmosphere, best service I've ever had in a pub, don't even have to go to bar for a drink as the staff get it for u. Also went to quiz night in the complex which was a good laugh. I would definitely go back and maybe try one of the bigger lodges with a larger group. No complaints at all.

We stayed in an Eagle Executive with 9 adults and two young children, age range 10months to 83years for a 60th birthday bash. The lodge itself was lovely, well stocked and spacious - we didn't feel on top of each other. The sauna was a great addition to your usual lodge holiday.
Despite the lodges being close together and full of Hen Parties and Wedding guests, the tree coverage made it feel quite private and cut the noise levels.
There were a couple of issues such as a broken bathroom door handle and a loose dishwasher door but the staff were very helpful and popped in to fix the handle straight a way.
We used the swimming pool, restaurant and bar facilities which were all fantastic. The food was lovely and the menu had a variety to keep all ages happy, they even heated up the baby food with no problems.
We had a look at the other sports facilities which looked great (but none of us are very sporty!)
The only issues we had were that the grounds were strewn with litter - we had to pick up lots of items before the birthday girl arrived. The gardens could have been tended better and you have to walk across the busy car park to get to the main reception area as no path is provided. The path to the other activity centre also looked very unkempt and uneven. The children's play area was quite limited and clearly quite old.

Despite all this we still all had a lovely time together in the lodge and Dundee is very close by with lots of things to see and do. I would recommend.

Date of stay: 25th June 2017
Was a great holiday! only downside being for the amount of money your paying you would expect the small things like washing up liquid, shower gel, pot scourers etc to be included and not have to buy your own AFTER discovering you can't wash the dishes or yourself! the other downside is that we tried to go for a bike ride later on in the day only to be told that bikes have to be taken out first thing in the morning. other than that we would still go back as it was a lovely lodge and great location!
Yvonne, Glasgow
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
Lodge was amazing. Few minor issues on arrival with bin lid being broken and shower door hanging off. However staff sorted the shower door really quickly and noted issue with bin. Everything we needed was there and the lodge was comfortable and stylish.

Well equipped lodge for a large group of adults & children.

Lodge really nice and comfy lovely beds and en-suits. Loved the open plan living room, dinning room and kitchen and being able to walk straight out into patio with hot tub. Date of stay: 1st May 2017
As I said overall stay was great, the lodge was very well equipped just felt 11pm curfew for hot tub use was too early. Bed was very comfortable and everything was in new condition. Would have liked a soap dish or ledge in shower attached to wall, instead had to put shower gel and shampoo etc on the floor which was not ideal when it's all slippy. Other than that everything was great

We stayed in Osprey Executive Lodge from 31st March until 7th April which sleeps 6 people. Although we had a great time there were a few things which were 'annoying and caused some inconvenience' and if fixed would have allowed me to give a higher rating.
1.The kettle is far too small for 6 adults and had to be boiled >once for all of us to have a hot drink.
2.The lodge would benefit greatly from having a coat rack/stand in the vestibule to prevent wet coats being carried through the lodge and for convenience as instructions were to leave shoes there.
3. There were no robe hooks in any of the en-suite bathrooms - again very inconvenient. 4. The instructions for the Washing Machine & Dishwasher in the folder were do not reflect the appliances currently there and therefore useless

The lodge and surroundings were so lovely and relaxing. The hot tub was brilliant and the lodge had such a nice layout. We all had fun and enjoyed the stay.

I would say that for the time we were staying (winter) that the price was a bit too expensive especially as you have to bring a lot of your own things like soap, washing up liquid etc. Also we had to bring all our rubbish down at the end of the weekend which we found a bit irritating as for the price you pay you would expect that to be taken care of when cleaning the lodge.

Date of stay: 14th November 2016
Had a fantastic few days at Piperdam. The lodge and the surroundings are beautiful and the holiday on the whole was very good. However there were only 5 place mats for the table and I was with a group of 8 people and the lodge is suitable for 10 so there should be enough place mats for everyone. There was no basin in the kitchen and the range of pots could be better as there were no sauce pans or smaller pots.
Nicola, Glasgow
Date of stay: 7th November 2016
Great location great park and lodges. This was my 11th visit in 6 yrs. I love this place however was really disappointed by only allowing 3 cars to be parked outside the Vegas lodge as we had 4 cars and had to leave one at the main car park. There was adequate parking outside our lodge. If we would of known this before hand we would maybe of arranged to take 3 cars. Had a lovely time though and a great meal in the restuarant.

Great holiday with our baby in a lovely lodge. Felt it was slightly overpriced for the lodges with hot tubs and there are not many facilities for young children, a soft play for example would be an added bonus! Great that the use of the pool was included in the price of the lodge and staff were all very helpful, Susan the girl who runs some of the activities (shooting for example) was fantastic! Restaurant was also nice although food at busy times was quite dry on our first night, staff were all to eager to sort this out for us though :) would definitely stay again

Wear and tear in lodge which makes it seem less value for money. Quite a few broken things and there was sick left on the side of the toilet from previous guests. Very good size though, would return if a good deal came up.
Danielle, West Lothian
Date of stay: 12th August 2016
Well located away from the resort so quiet and peaceful. The lodge was great, with a huge bed and nice linen. Less than 10 mins walk back to resort to take advantage of the facilities. Only criticism was the lodge was either cold or hot- couldn't get it to balance out, but reported to the desk who said they would look into the thermostat. All utensils included.

The lodge was beautiful and very very comfortable. The area of where the lodge was situated was very very peaceful and relaxing we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. We were a bit disappointed in the hot tub time restrictions but that did not stop us from having a lovely stay within the lodge.

We returned to Piperdam Lodges for another relaxing Family Holiday. Having stayed last Summer in the Eagle Executive, we stayed in the Osprey Executive this year. The lodges are stunning. Warm, spacious and very comfortable. Hot tubs and saunas are added bonuses! Friendly staff. Fantastic food at Howies Bar & Restaurant. Lots of activities available. Great swimming pool. Will definitely be returning for a third stay!
Rhona, Edinburgh
Date of stay: 29th July 2016
The Bungalow was great, very spacious. Our only issues were perhaps there could be some instructions on using the oven as it's not obvious and we had to get someone to come and show us. The other thing is the smell of petrol in the games room - not sure if its possible to do anything about this but it is a bit offputting.

We booked a long weekend for my daughter's 15 birthday in July. This was our first trip to Piperdam. The staff were friendly and efficient. We were delighted with the lodge. It had the 'wow' factor when we entered the lodge. My daughter loved the island in the kitchen area. The area was very peaceful and we loved the sauna and hot tub (which was maintained daily by the maintenance staff). The only comment I would make about the lodge is that unlike other places we have visited there were no washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets which have been provided at all other places we have stayed. As this was the most expensive place we have stayed I was surprised that these were not provided. Otherwise we loved the place and would certainly come back.

My partner and i used the leisure facilities while we were there. Unfortunately the sauna was not in use. The steam room was particulaly hot. I would say the steam room was a bit dated with benches which were well used and bowed . Could be doing with an update. I found the water in the shower after being in the pool to be far too hot. I am sure you could save money by turning down the temperature of the shower.

However, overall we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing long weekend at Piperdam and would recommend the place to family and friends and will certainly return in the future.

Julie, Bo'ness
Date of stay: 23rd May 2016
I think you should be clear on the website that you supply nothing at all, no hairdryer or even a dish cloth in the lodge also the hot tub needs to be water tested more frequently I was in it for about 15 minutes and it peeled all my skin

Me n my bf stayed at piperdam dundee rainbow excutive lodge for a week for my bf bday We ugraded to that for not much extra than normal lodge was glad we did we had amazing hot tub and sauna . The lodge its self was lovely spotless cozy. Only one thing 1 can say not in cabin was there wasnt a hair dryer. The restraunt in actual piperdam golf resort was lovely we ate the more nites prices are reasonable. And was a lovely setting over the lake and chilled atmosphere. We tried the breakfast but wasnt really that good if honest . My bf got breakfast only thing can say was not £9 worth we expected nice big links bt instead wee tiny cheap ones cames couple mushrooms no beans which is a personal pref but nice to have a choice that was only thing we can moan about as staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive We also done some activities with girl susan she was brill made u feel at ease . And had a good laff so thank u for that . Overall would defo go back and worth upgrading to a excutive lodge for that little bit more . So thanks to all piperdam golf resort staff for our lovely experience for my bf 30th bday ashley and sean xx

Pamela, Glasgow
Date of stay: 14th March 2016
Also the prices for the newer lodges is obviously the same as the older lodges, some of which may be becoming slightly more tired. I think when charging a premium for luxury accommodation it is important to make sure that the accommodation remains at a high standard. I must say that the lodge we stayed in on this occasion was in lovely condition.

We have seen quite a rise in prices overall over the last few years, no doubt largely due to the facilities on offer which we tend not to use.

A few more Vegas lodges would be great as these always seem to be in high demand!
Andrew, Worksop.

Had a great weekend with our family. We booked this as a luxury surprise to say thank you to our family, we have been before. The
Vegas lodge is great and spacious but bits were slightly tired. Lodge is for 12 but only 11 seats around the dining table. Floors were dirty, cigarette ends & litter was lying all around outside the bedrooms below the balcony.
Hayley, Edinburgh
Date of stay: 28th February 2016
Loved our romantic weekend away, only fault I can give is that the kitchen needs more pans and utensils (spatula, tonges etc) And dishwasher tablets as we weren't aware there would be none, or any washing up liquid.

The only things that could have been better was the shower filled up when using it leaving you standing in dirty water & the remote controls covers for the batteries were broken so you had to hold the batteries when switching channels however these minor issues did not effect our stay and everything else was wonderful

Date of stay: 1st December 2015
I would have given a higher score for furniture and fittings however the couch was a bit worn and faded and the tv didn't work if there was any wind, rain or snow.

We were aware that there was no wifi in the lodge before we booked but would think it would be better if this was available even on a pay as you go tariff
Sarah, Huddersfield

Stuart, Glenrothes
Date of stay: 30th November 2015
Great two bedroom lodge with private hot tub and sauna - very good accommodation for up to four with only a couple minor negatives 1/ no dining table - there 's room for it and the smaller one bed lodges have them? 2/ Only a Double bed in master bedroom making it a bit tight when used to a king size at home (units at side suggest a queen size was proposed which is more the norm in hotels nowadays). Other than these minor things very good accommodation; clean, comfortable, warm and everything you need. Would recommend (and have done!).
Stewart, Dunfermline
Date of stay: 27th November 2015

very spacious...well equipped kitchen. vegas room tables very grubby from previous spillages etc, sofa s peeling from over wear etc....tho it was late in the season that i went. bedrooms and bathrooms very nice...and it was lovely and warm all over and the size of the place was great
Margaret, Glasgow
Date of stay: 17th November 2015
Only addition is there was no washing up liquid or dishwasher tabs to start with - a starter pack of a couple of tabs would have been good. No phone reception anywhere on site a bit of a nuisance. Decking very slippy and external lights not working made it difficult at night.

Helen, Motherwell
Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
As this was our second time visiting, we stayed in a different number lodge. Again the lodge was as we expected, clean, tidy and very comfortable. It has all the essential items required for a lovely stay, cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine etc, which is handy when you are in the fantastic hot tubs each day for washing your towels as well as swimwear. So once again we have booked up for my hubby's birthday in January for another fabulous break away, which we are both looking forward too, and we are looking into another break in the summer. This is one of our favourite breaks in the UK.
Kat, West Lothian
Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
We really enjoyed this lodge, very spacious and very clean. Only slight disappointment was the kitchen, no sharp knives!
Sylvia, Aberdeenshire
Date of stay: 23rd October 2015
Only thing I would add to this lodge is some coat hooks at the front porch and a broom to sweep away all the pine needles around the hot tub at this time of year.
Elaine, Livingston
Date of stay: 20th October 2015
Warm and spacious. Great for a long weekend.
En-suite shower not the best though-not able to wash hair in it as not enough water!

Date of stay: 5th October 2015
Our lodge was great but one major error for 4 females sharing apart from the small bathroom mirrors in both toilets the only other mirror was a slim one on the inside of the wardrobe door that did'nt open properly due to the radiator.

But still a great stay

Nice little lodge with hot-tub, spotlessly clean inside. Lovely surroundings. Good amenities, but the numbers and pictures have rubbed away from the dishwasher and cooker, making cooking & cleaning a guessing game!

Date of stay: 12th September 2015
There were several lights that were out a maintaine person came put in 1 new bulb in a lamp the easiest of jobs and never bothered with the important main light. That seemed to be the overall attitudes. One of the important issues left. Then the park was full which is good, but only saw security once and with all the parties going on till very earlier hours. Need someone to pop along.
Hannah, Oxford
Date of stay: 11th September 2015
Fix patio door, no holder for shower gel in ensuite shower, tv remote taped up due to broken battery cover, seats don't operate so as to lift feet up. Everything else was superb: spacious rooms, shower rooms, and kitchenette. Comfortable beds and we'll equipped kitchenette. Plenty of storage in bedrooms.

Date of stay: 7th September 2015
Great long weekend with the family. Lodge was very large and comfortable. Only thing was vegas lodge one was located in the shade front and back so didn't get use of the balcony. Also the place could do with some TLC: weeds on the roof which isn't the best view when sitting in your hot tub, lots of bulbs out just general maintenance, furniture a bit worn etc. Overall though a very enjoyable weekend and will return.
Lisa, Arbroath
Date of stay: 7th September 2015

Great weekend..... Just a bit expensive
James, Laurencekirk
Date of stay: 17th August 2015
We hired this for a 40th birthday as it slept 12. The bedrooms are all ensuite. Only issue was two shower trays took a long time to drain away.
The open plan kitchen us huge with plenty storage and work tops. Two fridges & two freezers that had both seen better days.
Dining table sat 12 comfortably.
Plenty sofas enough to seat 14. Large area where we put our hired DJ and danced.
Balcony that sat 10 easily.
Large games room at other end of lodge. Snooker table, roulette wheel & black jack table. With plenty of room still to mosey around. We hired a couple of croupiers and two buff butlers for the Saturday evening. Including the DJ, the croupiers, buff butlers and our guests we had 35/40 guests in total and there was still plenty of room.

The lodge was very clean and comfort,Very spacious. We enjoyed every minute in there. I will recommend it to anyone who want to be somewhere in quite clean and in the nature.

Vegas Lodge is absolutely fantastic for a large group of family/friends. All bedrooms en-suite, very spacious. New carpets had been laid throughout the lodge. Games room fantastic as well as a large hot tub- this is a well equipped lodge. We were at Piperdam for a wedding and were booked in for a long weekend - brilliant.
Jessie, Stirling

Would and have recommended to others.

Date of stay: 7th August 2015
Lovely lodge, very clean, lovely hot tub too although very very hot!!!
Colin
Date of stay: 7th August 2015
Brilliant large lodge only criticism was that the hot tub tended to be noisy and drone through the timber structure due to location on balcony
Leslie, Ellon
Date of stay: 20th July 2015
We found toilet fitments missing and broken eg shower head. Cobwebs many places and lots of dust, bottle tops under dining table. The fridge capsized forward when the door was open. Power switches in the hallway didn't work. Many small things which marred the stay. When something is titled 'Vegas' we expected high quality.
Jim, West Kilbride
Date of stay: 10th July 2015
Excellent lodge with some minor problems. More hooks required on doors, no small pots in kitchen, TV remote not working, instructions not clear on how to operate cooker.
Confirmed Guest, Glasgow
Date of stay: 3rd July 2015
Very mild criticism. Not enough pots and pans for full lodge.
Michael, Glenrothes, Fife
Date of stay: 26th June 2015
Can't fault it! Lots of space for the family (there were 9 of us). Kitchen facilities and accessories, including dishwasher and washing machine, were all well utilised, as was the hot tub! Comfortable beds and en-suite ablutions!
Anna, Kilmarnock

Great holiday with both a baby and disabled adult - excellent!
Maureen, Westhill, Aberdeenshire
Date of stay: 1st June 2015
As stated above. Basic kitchen consumables lacking considering the overall cost. No wifi and poor mobile reception from all providers. Otherwise very good accommodation and restaurant is very well priced. We had an excellent meal on the Saturday evening and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Certainly recommend a meal here.
Golf course was also very good and surroundings pleasant.
Eileen, Newtown, Powys

Fantastic lodge, very spacious and clean. Loved the snooker room, sauna and hot tub. Would have liked washing-up liquid and potato peeler to be supplied. Only found equipment instructions at the end of the holiday.

Gorgeous, luxury cabins. A wee touch of luxury with the hot tub and sauna. Will certainly return.

Date of stay: 13th April 2015
Apart from a few minor issues where doors would not close properly as this appeared to be a brand new cottage the facilities were excellent.
John, Linlithgow
Date of stay: 13th April 2015
Lodge was fantastic, only issues were the broken fridge shelf on the fridge door and the dial on the washing machine which was independent of the setting.
Apart from these minor issues the lodge itself was superb, comfortable and ideal spot to just switch off.
Lynda
Date of stay: 13th April 2015
Overall large lodge ideal for larger parties but have visited other hot tub lodges that were much better value for money. Lots of work going on around the resort which will be a plus for future visitors.
David, Fife
Date of stay: 10th April 2015
Great lodge, really tidy and homey. The bathroom lighting could be brighter (but that's me being picky as I wear contacts so need to put them in after I wake up.) but overall great experience.

Date of stay: 30th March 2015
We loved the lodge - the overall ambience was very peaceful and relaxed, and the hot tub was the perfect finishing touch. My only slight difficulty came with trying to figure out the appliances - some instructions would be helpful, as would having the battery covers on the remote controls - i spent as much time locating dropped batteries!!!

We will definitely be back at Piperdam, it is a fantastic place to just unwind from the stress of daily life.
Leigh, Fife
Date of stay: 30th March 2015
We loved the bungalow - wishing that it had a hot tub too! I would have hoped that some basic things like fairy liquid and dishwasher tablets would have been made available, as we were only there for the weekend. No batteries in the Wii controllers - had to go and buy some.

Lovely place, excellent facilities and the lodge was lovely.
The lodge could do with wifi or at least music playing facilities.
The hot tub was awesome, could've done with robes or even just coat hooks to hang towels up.
Over all it was amazing. We'll definitely return.
Chris, Perth
Date of stay: 6th March 2015
Lodge was lovely, we had an issue with the fridge and was changed very quickly which was fantastic. Couple of minor things I left on a note when we left so hopefully they will have been sorted out as quick as the fridge. Lodge size was perfect, nice and bright and cosy :)

Great accommodation,no complaints at all, except for no waste recycling.
Sharon, Wishaw
Date of stay: 23rd February 2015
Sofa in Muirloch 6 could do with being repaired or replaced! Recliner was broken too! Everthing else in the lodge was gorgeous, but given that we had to be out of the hot tub at 11pm, we watched DVDs by the log burner at night and a more comfortable seating area would have been fabulous!
Evelyn

Dishwasher & cooker had no instructions and markings on outside of appliances were worn out on so struggled when setting programs or cooking, kitchen could have been cleaner, cooker hood was greasy and needed a good clean

Date of stay: 9th February 2015
We stayed in the bungalow. It was perfect for a large family gathering, with enough space to ensure we weren't tripping over each other. The games room was an added bonus. The only negative was that some of the games for the Wii were unplayable because the discs were scratched.

As I have stared it was fantastic we just loved the lodge, it was spotless, we did have an issue with the drain in shower water wouldn't run away, but I am sure that it is fixed now, and it didn't spoil our time, I think a little shelf in the shower to put shampoo etc on would be great even if it's one of the auction shelfs if they don't want to drill holes, but I couldnt fault the place, the peace and quiet was excellent, I slept wonderfully, and my husband spent most of his days in golf course which he loved, we took a car ride to near by towns etc was just wonderful will definitely be back, thank you to all the staff and management.
Malcolm, Leven
Date of stay: 26th January 2015
We booked specifically for the Hot tub, this stopped working on the second afternoon. The guys claimed to have fixed only for it to stop working again that evening. It was finally fixed late afternoon on the third and last day.
We were very disappointed with this and spoiled our break away.

Stayed here 16th - 19th in Muirloch Lodge. Hot tub was amazing but couldn't get sauna to stay hot - tried everything -just went back in the hot tub. Couldn't keep milk or wine in the fridge as door shelf was broken but as it was extremely cold outside we kept the stuff there
Christopher, Dundee

Christopher, Oswaldtwistle
Date of stay: 31st October 2014
I was a little disconcerted to discover I had to pay for electricity and that this was greater than normal due to the hottub linked to the lodge. This was not made clear to me at the time of booking and was a considerable unexpected cost.
William, Manchester
Date of stay: 31st October 2014
Cabin too far from facilities. On arrival, toaster not working, scissors didn't work, no plug in bathroom sink. Although the staff were great at sorting them out, we should not of had too!. The cabin was spotless. Did find things a bit to expensive for our needs. .

A telephone in lodge to reception would have been useful, also a coat rack/stand at door entrance. Stir fry pan in kitchen was unsuitable for frying eggs, would recommend a frying pan with flat surface adequate for twelve.
Alan, Langholm
Date of stay: 24th October 2014
Couldn't believe that having paid so much money for the lodge that you had to pay extra for towels. Also there was no phone in the lodge and no mobile signal which is no use in emergencies.
Hilary, Bathgate
Date of stay: 20th October 2014
We stayed in Muirloch Executive Lodge No. 1. As I mentioned in need of some TLC, i.e bent cutlery, spotlight out in the sauna, peeling placemats, big scorch/burn mark in the worktop counter in the kitchen; the welcome leather brochure in the lodge still has information about activities that will be coming soon in April 2010!! and last but by no means least all the number/temperature markings on the oven were worn off so you had no clue which knob was for the grill, oven, etc. (which was why we tried to call reception to give us a clue but they didn't answer), in the end we figured it out by process of eliminaton but again not what you expect when you are paying for a 'luxury' lodge.
Linsey
Date of stay: 20th October 2014
Spacious lodge for the two of us. Very peaceful and the fire made it very cosy in the evening. One or two very minor cosmetic repairs that could be done but absolutely nothing that impacts or detracts from the available facilities. Ironing board provided but no hairdryer (as seems to be the policy).
Sara, Dundee

The Bungalow is not one of the big wooden lodges but it is perfect for a large/extended family. Large rooms. Plenty of living space. The games room is a nice touch. It appeared to be closer to the facilities than the lodges too.

The only criticism, which is not a negative point, is that there is no phone signal in the lodge and wifi is only available at the resort bar/restaurant.
Helen, Leeds
Date of stay: 10th October 2014
I had read some reviews stating that the work tops were worn, the fridge didnt work and the DVD player was faulty. This made me worried about where we were going to stay.
However the work top had one pan mark , the fridge was fixed in one call to maintenance and the DVD player worked fine.
I would definately stay again value for money.

Date of stay: 6th October 2014
This was our first stay at Piperdam.
Our lodge was fabulous, only a few pointers to comment on, a coat rack or hooks at the entrance would be very welcomed idea.
In one of the twin bedroom we were not able to plug the lamp in the lead would not reach the socket.
For staying in an executive lodge and the all the furnishings were fine, the toilet paper didn't match the standards and all ten of us felt this and actually brought our own for the rest of our stay.
We have stayed in other lodges, accommodation in our area due to having family living in the Dundee area and not once have we had to pay separately/extra for towels.

Geraldine, Haverhill

Reported a door of hinges on first day but was not repaired at all during the week stay. Reported again on check out thought this was poor response. Also small fault on shower but did not report until check out as not a problem and as there was not response to first item didn't bother.
Fiona, Balloch

Lodge was spotless and amazing. On the outside it looked fine but on walking through the door was extremely delighted. It felt so new and everything very comfortable. The bathroom especially was a surprise. Very pleased with the comfort and cleaniness although felt very guilty at having made a mark on the carpet at the front door - a mat would be helpful.
Diane, Dalkeith

Date of stay: 22nd August 2014
The lodge was amazing, very spacious, only criticism is lack of cutlery, glasses etc. when you have a dishwasher you need more than 3 teaspoons etc. even though you know in advance it's annoying you have to pay for electricity and take your own towels.
Pamela
Date of stay: 18th August 2014
suggest a safer can opener as the one in the lodge you could easily cut your fingers on the sharp tin edges
could have done with a bigger fridge - this lodge is for 12 people!!
no instructions for oven - took long time to cook food
Stephen, Newcastle
Date of stay: 15th August 2014
Kitchen was too small for 10 people
Was not aware that we had to pay for electricity until I arrived at reception - must have missed that somewhere during booking process
Fridge had broken shelf could not store milk properly
Pool facilities were great......... didnt use go active facilities - too expensive for us - half the price would have been better us having 4 kids
Great location
Great value overall

The cabins were great it was however let down by the discovery of mice droppings in the kitchen area on the last day. Considering it's country location and remoteness this is probably difficult to control and I guess can be forgiven.

Date of stay: 14th July 2014
The lodge was of an exceptional standard , loads of room in the living room for the little ones to roam and play. Great , spacious bedrooms and lovely bathrooms. It would have been helpful to know there were only showers and no bathrooms in our lodge. It wasn't a problem , but only when we arrived did we receive a sheet with 'helpful notes' such as no hairdryers and baths could be available in some of the lodges on request. Perhaps when travel cots are being booked, it could be mentioned that baths are not in every lodge?

See previous review section with regard to lodge.
The go active programme was used extensively by our family but we were disappointed that one of our days was fully booked by an outside party. We should have been warned about this. If it had not been for the dedication and thoughtfulness of the amazing instructors the family would have had a boring day. They went out of their way to facilitate activities for our family so they would not miss out. Because of their efforts the day turned out well.
Lorraine, Aberdeen

Yes - suited us as a family as had grandchildren with us and nothing too expensive to be scared of breaking. If needing 5 star furnishings then book a posh hotel! Our lodge was family friendly.
Sally, West Lothian
Date of stay: 4th July 2014
We had a fantastic holiday and the staff were always very helpful and friendly. My only dislikes were the fact you had to pay for your electricity when the cost of the break was already very expensive and I felt the lodges were in general need of updating with new furniture and white goods required. Overall though I really can't complain as we still had a brilliant time.

Do not think its acceptable to have to pay for towels and electricity on top of the already expensive price. Pillows all lumpy but beds comfy lodge is very spacious and clean. Could do with more crockery rainbow executive benefits from an attractive island with bar chairs but no proper dining table - weird! Too many ugly signs around hot tub area about warnings. All hot tub lodges have a six foot fence round patio which is good for privacy although some lodges dont need it, which could be made more attractive with bamboo screening and potted plants or something.

We cannot fault the accommodation at all and the hot tub made it even more enjoyable.

Our lodge was spotlessly clean, gorgeous scent when we opened the door on arrival, our bedrooms were large and spacious with very comfortable beds, we slept really well, having en~suite bedrooms made family life a lot easier. Loved our hot~tub and sauna, really spacious lounge and fully equipped kitchen with all you could possibly need.

Went on this holiday with family and friends, this place caters for everyone from babies to adults. Great facilities in lodge and onsite. Best holiday we've been on, we will be back there soon. Thank you Piperdam.

Excellent value for four nights. Would not pay normal price. Basic tv and dvd with no wifi in lodge. All other facilities were good and the kitchen was well equiped.

Lodges were very comfortable although it was very light in the bedrooms - I think black out curtains would help.

The lodge we had this year had exactly the same layout as the one last year, but had obviously had some upgrading with new furniture here and there. Very nice.

Our fridge had a crack in it, only one broken salad drawer, the cooker shelves were lopsided and the kitchen units were heat-warped. The decor was a little tired looking on the top floor, but compared to many hotels we've stayed in it was a palace! We all loved the 'log cabin' interior, a log fire would have made it perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay at Piperdam. The lodge was in fantastic condition when we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the luxury. We can't wait to go back! We paid the deposit for the hot tub which we got back. It was amazing to relax in the hot tub on the evening. We took our 3 year old twin boys who loved their stay too. The soft play was great, a little over priced for food in there. However, the on site bar, the food was incredible. Best burger I've ever had! Can't wait to return to piperdam.

So much more than a garden centre this place is ideal for a fun family day out in Angus. The garden centre stocks a huge range of plants, outdoor furniture and gardening equipment and also has a café serving tasty home made meals, cakes and snacks. The site has a large outdoor play area for children an ornamental pond and country park to explore. Halloween and Bonfire night's events are coming up soon. The annual Fireworks Display is really spectacular.

Smoo Cave is a popular attraction which can be enjoyed all year round but visitors should wrap up warm during the winter months.  This spectacular limestone sea-cave in Sutherland is the largest in Britain and is simply spectacular. The cave was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. Guests can take the path from the car park which runs right through the cave. Boat trips are available in the summer months and are an excellent way to fully appreciate the cave from all angles.
