My wife and I stayed in Maple lodge recently and had a wonderful weekend. The lodge is outfitted to a very high standard with a more-than-adequately equipped kitchen. We were able to plug an iPhone into the hifi system and have music in the bedroom/bathroom, or in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The TV had the usual Freeview channels and a DVD player (neither of which we really used). Wifi was good enough to browse the web, use Facebook etc or stream music from Spotify, but it was simply too slow for the likes of Netflix (and the owners say as much on their website).

The bath in the bedroom was a lovely touch and the hot tub and sauna fantastic. The entire site is nicely secluded, yet only a short drive from the nearest town and shops.

We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely return in the future.

Such a beautiful lodge, we've never stayed anywhere like this before. A home away from home, except it has a private hot tub and sauna, huge free-standing bath, the most comfy bed ever and a gorgeous open-plan living space, with lovely views of the lake. All you can hear are the birds and the ducks! Total bliss... I hope we can come back one day!
Martin

Fun Days Out near Weybread Lakes Lodges

Banham Zoo - about 12 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - about 14 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Africa Alive - about 17 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
