Fantastic week staying in the Amore lodge, we loved the peaceful location and enjoyed days out making the most of this beautiful area. The lodge was very comfortable, with everything you need for your stay.

Days out we enjoyed were Chatsworth, Lyme, Dunham Massey, Bakewell, Treak Cliff Cavern and Castleton, and Marple Bridge. Lovely restaurants in nearby Marple Bridge.

Would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday

Date of stay: 14th May 2018
The lodge was tastefully decorated, clean and with all amenities you might need, the shower was powerful and the bed comfortable. Check in and out was easy. Whilst it was a two bedroom lodge I suspect the hot tub might be for three people but as there were only two of us we didn't have to try and fit four in, although you probably might be able to. The decking was lovely although the sun only reached ours in the mornings (No 4 Woodland) but the others seemed to get it in the afternoons/early evenings. The site was very peaceful and there were a couple of pubs within a short walk.

My family and I (2 Children 4 & 1.5) stayed in Woodlands View No4, and couldn't be happier.

We found the lodge spacious, clean, and well equipped.

When we arrived the Hot tub hadn't reached temperature so we were given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and we enjoyed that the following eve soaking in the tub.

Came here for an anniversary get away, it was the perfect hideaway! When we checked in a member of staff came to show us how to use the hot tub we asked a few questions about the surroundings she was helpful naming a few shops. But apart from that we wasn't bothered again. Only down points was having to get out the tub at 10pm and the woman that lives next door when she has visitors (which was everday) 2 cars plus hers and mine it makes it very difficult to get off the drive. There is a dirt track to get to the lodge so small cars beware. Shops were a short walk away and a small pub at the end of the hill offered nice food at a reasonable price. The cottage itself is perfect and the bed is so comfortable and I ended up falling to sleep on the sofa everyday (which I never usually do)
If you are looking for a romantic peaceful getaway I could not recommend the old cottage more and I have recommended to all my family and friends. Will defiantly look at returning.

The lodge was beautiful and the surroundings were lovely, very quite area which was lovely! You could see and hear the airplanes going to and from Manchester airport as Manchester is not too far. Peak District is not too far either. The Town Charlesworth was very quite on Monday (no pubs open) but open rest of the week and lovely friendly people.

I surprised my partner with a 4 night break in the Armour Deluxe for valentines week. Beautiful location. On arrival there was a long shared narrow bumpy track with a couple of huge holes that really wouldnt take much effort to be filled if all the houses at the end chipped in. Very nice lodge and was bigger than I was expecting. Absolutely beautiful. Since it was freezing weather and February oh and valentines no one was about so it was extremely quiet. Hot tub appeared to be well maintained and was great. The pictures on website made it look like the lodge was secluded and next to a wood. In reality all the lodges were very close together so Im guessing in better weather not very private. Our lodge was next to a small area of trees which had access for people. All in all it was a beautiful lodge and perfect for that time of year. The only thing that let it down was there were several kitchen draws that would not stay shut and a few handles in kitchen and bedroom that were hanging off and just resting on screws to make it look intact. More than a few days there and Id of been going crazy trying to shut them! It had been mentioned on previous reviews. It really doesnt take long to pick up a screw driver and tighten the runners or attach the handles back on. If we had one with us we would have fixed them! Having stayed in other lodges it was lacking hooks to hang dressing gowns by hot tub, hooks inside to hang coats and no where to hang towels., a form to fill for recommendations/ repairs etc would be beneficial for them also. It was still a beautiful lodge and great for that time of year just needs some TLC if its to keep ratings high as people do read reviews and do not want to see the same items requiring repair on each review. They were very nice staff and Im sure if Id of said while I was there they may of fixed the drawers but they would already be aware. However I did mention the lodge needed a shaving mirror as my partner struggled. They said they would get one at the weekend. Due to repairs needed for furniture and fittings I gave it an 8 purely because they would be aware as they cannot be missed! And because of that overall I gave it 9 as it was a lovely lodge. Attention to detail is everything

The Coombes View lodge was lovely. Spacious and clean. Big bed really comfortable and the telly in the main bedroom was a nice touch as it had Netflix on. The telly in the living room was a little temperamental but nothing that bothered us. Really great place to stay. Plus the hot tub was amazing.

Date of stay: 20th November 2017
We had a fabulous break and loved the Amour Lodge - we would definitely come back! There is just one slight change we think could be made to make the lodge itself absolutely perfect, that's the inclusion of a cosy rug and coffee table just in front of the main sofa within the lounge area. We played some board games one night whilst watching the television and it would have been nice to have had somewhere to rest them on, as well as a cup of tea! Apart from that, all the other facilities were excellent!

We stayed in Oak Cottage which is very close to the log cabins.
Received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival.
The cottage was beautiful, fitted out to a high spec and very spacious.
Hot tub was large and a good temperature at all time (have seen issues in other places with the temperature).
10 minute stroll to the local village which had a couple of small shops and a pub.
Would definitely return.

Date of stay: 25th August 2017
An extremely relaxing week, the only issue was it went too quickly! The hot tub was the main reason we booked the lodge and it didn't disappoint - we used it at least 2/3 times a day. The lodge itself was extremely spacious and well laid out, very clean on arrival with the hot tub cleaned and refilled.

The staff that greeted us were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Will definitely be back next year... or sooner!

Beautiful lodge & the hot tub was just great. The lodge was well equipped & location was peaceful & relaxing. Only negative is that there were lots of cobwebs higher up on the beams & high windows but this didn't detract from our lovely stay.
Christopher, Tamworth
Date of stay: 26th June 2017
Amazing if I could give more than 10 then I would. Lodge was luxurious and stunning location. Wife loved very private hot tub off bedroom French doors. We stayed on same site a few years ago in woodland lodge which was superb but this one even outshone that. Would go again in a heartbeat

I would love to say these ratings were for the Amour Delux - however they're not. Upon our arrival we were very kindly asked if we could swap our cabin for the Old Barn for a wedding party that was staying at the park (long story). We happily agreed as the Old Barn was gorgeous & had tons of room for just two of us. We did have a look around Amour Delux and it was beautifully decorated with a private hottub on the back.

The Old Barn was stunning also, with a massive hottub, the decor was modern but shabby chic and had a huge bathroom with two toilets, an awesome shower and jacuzzi bath. The only 'negative' thing i can think of, is I couldn't find an iron! Luckily we managed without but as far as i was aware, I couldn't find one.

Both were beautiful lodges, if I did choose to come back, hopefully I would be able to enjoy the Amour Delux!

The lodge was well equipped. Just one small comment on staying in other autograph lodges we had a small welcome pack containing coffee teabags milk etc which we think is a nice touch.
Andrew, Spalding
Date of stay: 20th March 2017
What can I say - perfect. It was a treat for my wife on her 50th birthday and it didn't disappoint. Yes it rained but that did not bother us. I am from Derbyshire myself so was well aware it rains a fair bit, how else have we got such a green and beautiful county.
The arrival was trouble free but the directions could have been better by directing people over the snake pass, if open, instead of through the bottom end. Minor detail that but worth considering. The lodge was superb and we were blown away. The lady who greeted us was really helpful and very friendly, it sets you at ease immediately. The rest of the weekend followed pretty much the same with the hot tub perfect, a gazebo over the tub would have been the icing on the cake.
The experience was really positive and relaxed us tremendously, it recharged our batteries totally. We will go back again as soon as we can save enough for it. We would totally recommend these lodges to anybody.

Date of stay: 17th March 2017
The amour deluxe was superb. A settee big enough to snuggle up on and a huge tv, not often we go home to less. Having a bath while watching tv was a bit decadent but really lovely. The hottub right outside french doors from the bedroom was easy to get to and straight out and into the shower. Bed was comfier than most although didn't feel quite like a king more a queen size but we are used to a superking so anything feels small after that. The furnishings were opulent and the kitchen was a delight with everything we needed. If I had to add anything it would be coasters and place mats for the table or a tablecloth as we were worried about scratching it so used tea towels. There were a few bulbs missing in lamps and the clocks were all wrong haha not that we worried about time. It was bliss in all honesty, the peace and quiet was just what we needed. The road in that we were worried about is nowhere near as bad as people were saying, it is single track so you need to be careful of other users coming the other way but then you should always do that anyway, there are animals and small children everywhere. Would we go again - ABSOLUTELY - would we recommend - DEFINITELY
Antonia, Oldham
Date of stay: 13th March 2017
No matting for when you get out of the tub, so the floor is dirty they you walk into the carpeted area?, tub exit would be better the other side so you go back into the lodge on the flagged floor.
lots of cobwebs?/?,...in living room over radiator

Amazing weekend away! So relaxing in a beautiful property. Only issue was resident neighbours kept blocking our car in so was a struggle to get out, one point had to drive on grass field area to be able to turn the car round. Would highly recommend apart from parking issues
Richard, Barnsley
Date of stay: 13th February 2017
First time at charlesworth lodges. Nicely set out place only a handful of lodges all very new looking.
Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and we'll equipped. It was quite huge for two. Nice big television and comfy sofa. Beautiful location sheep roaming the grounds pheasants and a lovely stream running at the rear, also some horses on the field at the side. Was a bit wet and blustery so didn't get out and about to see the local area. But from the cabin it looked stunning.
Road down to the lodges narrow and a bit rough, during snow could be difficult.
Stopped in a number of log cabins over the years and this is the nicest.
Hot tub at rear decent size for two and nice and warm on arrival, the decking it's sat on could do with being a bit larger a little tight. No roof cover so your open to the weather but good views and quite private.
Would and have recommended to others, good find as it's not too far to get to from home. Perfect place to get away to chill or get out for some hiking weather permitting.

Nice quality lodge a bit more expensive than some.

For a high end place and cost would have expected some milk and toiletries and stuff like we've had at other lodges we've stayed. Minor thing also hot tub inspection done about 1:45 so we're waiting till it was done before we got in.

Highly recommend.

We stayed at charlesworth lodges for my 30th birthday and can honestly say we had an amazing time didn't want it to end. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER
The staff at charlesworth was very helpful and made us feel very welcome especially there security dog queenie who we fell in love with :)
The lodges are very spacious and well equipped, clean and tidy throughout and had no problems at all!!!
But the best feature , which we spent most of our time was the use of hot tub with the most beautiful of views, only downfall was that you had to be out at 10pm or I would have stayed in all night

Other than that would highly recommend to anyone you won't regret your stay :)

Date of stay: 27th May 2016
Overall, the lodge was well decorated, clean and very comfortable. I have given this 5 for furniture and fittings as, for a luxury lodge, there was not the level of detail and thought that I would expect. There was only 1 champagne flute. There were no toiletries provided. There were no spare towels to use in the hot tub. There was no tea/coffee- only 1 sachet of instant and 2 (out of date!!) UHT sachets. We paid £5 to hire a BBQ but no charcoal was supplied so my husband had to go out again to get some. It would cost very little to address these things but would make a big difference to a guest's experience.

Date of stay: 16th May 2016
The shower was blocked on the first day but Mark sorted it out as soon as he could. Bed was comfortable and we had dressing gowns even when the brochure said we wouldn't. The hot tub was immaculate. Could have done with a pair of tongs for turning my bacon in the morning. Digital radio a nice touch. The jittery wifi is a little to be desired.
David, Birtley
Date of stay: 13th May 2016
Mould in shower. Shower didn't drain properly so showers short to stop overflowing. Wasps nest in window (one of those things, but as soon as reported staff brilliant and sorted within couple hours).

Amour Lodge was really beautiful, large and modern with excellent fittings and fixtures. The reason I only give a 9 is that it lacked pictures, ornaments or side tables on which to place a cup of coffee.

It was a very nice lodge. Not over looked

Toaster too small for our bread

Loved the radio surround sound

Very romantically decorated and clean

Could have done with more different kind of drinking glasses. My husband could have done with a plastic pint glass in the hot tub

Although lots of space for clothes no space long enough for dresses

Can not praise the location and lodges at this location.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly owner and shown around lodge.
Hot tub was great.
Lodge is wonderful and has everything that you need.
We stayed over new year and had a fantastic time.
Lovely pub 10mins walk away.
Great area for walking and doing things with our children (7&11).

Date of stay: 14th December 2015
Me and my boyfriend booked here for our anniversary, we had an amazing time and the facilities were amazing!! The description when booking does not do it justice!
The only thing that let it down was that there was no shelter over the hot tub and nowhere to put your dressing gowns when you went out, however we went in the middle of December which was the weather problem, it didn't stop us from remaining in the hot tub all day though!!
The staff were brilliant, we couldn't get there until very late in the evening and they had left the lodge open for us and still came round to show us how the hot tub worked!
Will definitely be booking again! ASAP!!

Have visited many lodges, this is on a par with most. Could do to have some cover over the hot tub as it rained most of the time we were there, which reduced our chances of getting into the tub.

Another great stay in a Coombes view lodge. So private, peaceful and relaxing. Exactly what we wanted. I don't think there is a bad lodge at this place. Never feel overlooked at all. Comfortable, immaculate lodges with more than everything you need. Very spacious, very warm, immaculate hot tub facilities and the use of the robes is a big plus. Lots of crockery and basics such as washing up liquid and dish was tablets. They have got it so right here. Can't wait to return.

Had a wonderful time in the old barn cottage. Downstairs was beautifully decorated, well equipped kitchen and cosy couches. Upstairs the bathroom and dressing was up to the standard of downstairs but bedroom was a bit disappointing...rips in the headboard and scratched marked furniture...Being picky but more noticeable where the rest of the house was so nice.

The other point was it said it was enclosed garden, it isn't there's a house attached with a window overlooking the hot tub with a family living next door. Also they asked you not to use the hot tub after 9.30 which is a bit disappointing when you are on a romantic weekend with your husband!

It didn't spoil our time there and would go back but just something to consider if you are swaying between the cottage and the lodges like we was.

leather sofas are in need of repair/replacement as the cushions keep sliding off, the two beds in small room need new mattresses and base's. but this is all due to wear and tear, just keep on top of it and it should be a 5+ instead of just 5. also more attention to cleanliness i.e. cob webs in the ceiling and lamb shades.
Anita

The cottage was in no way private. When using the hot tub the children next door would disturb you. You could be overlooked while on the loo in the main bathroom from next doors front door.

Coombes View lodge was beautiful. Very comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything you could possibly need. Hot tub was wonderful, and the views were great. Out of the 7 lodges on site, Coombes View Lodge is at the top of a steep hill, and whilst you can get your car right up to the lodge, the driveway up is traditional gravel (not great if you're unsteady on your feet!). Lovely big deck with patio furniture- lovely when the sun was out!

Nice lodge that was only let down by a chipped sink in the bathroom. Hot tub was temperamental on heat first two days (wouldn't stay at MAX!) after that was great. Wouldn't hesitate to book same lodge again.
Emma, Leicestershire
Date of stay: 18th May 2015
The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything we needed.
It wasn't as secluded as we were led to believe tho. We were expecting a secluded garden and hot tub area but as the cottage is positioned between 2 other properties that are lived in year round you are very over looked. The driveway to the cottage is shared with the neighbours and the garden area is at the top of the drive so is open to them as they come and go.
The hot tub is at the back of the property. During our stay we experienced the neighbours cutting through our garden to get to the property on the other side, luckily we were not in the hot tub at the time!
The cottage was described as having an en suite. The shower room is connected to the dressing room however not to the bed room as we expected.
All that said though the cottage was very comfortable and we wanted for nothing.

Stayed here for a long weekend on the 17th of April with my boyfriend. Lovely lodge with everything you need for a romantic retreat. My only reservations for not rewarding it a 10/10 would be the amount of things that were broken. When we arrived we had our welcome from the site manager who listed 4 things that were broken in the lodge and noted that the manual for the hot tub had gone missing, which was a little disappointing after paying the price for the most luxurious lodge. We unfortunately had very noisy neighbours that kept my boyfriend up for most of the night but i understand that it isn't the sites fault.
The lodge was lovely and it was nice having a completely private hot tub. We will definetely book another lodge break again.

Our second visit to the Amour Lodge, I cant really extend much from my first review last year apart from there is now a 'his and hers' hooks to hang the robes near the hot tub and the globes on the bed posts have been fixed.

All in all great holiday and very good choice in an idyllic location, the members of staff are very polite, friendly and helpful, like I said I cant say much else without repeating the last review.

Have booked again in December.

Overall the cottage inside is to a high quality and we thoroughly enjoyed it and felt relaxed, from the double size shower to the large comfy sofas perfect for a couple wanting to have a nice afternoon nap, it does need a bit of a deep clean as there are cobwebs throughout the ceiling.

There were however two issues the first being the 'secluded' hot tub which was over looked by the connecting cottage and the second being the narrow track. The neighbors who live down the track are obviously fed up of tourists as even though they were at the top of the track and should have reversed back out they forced us to reverse the length of the track going backwards even though we were 2/3 of the way up.

The amour lodge was a lovely lodge for 2 people and the hot tub was amazing. Kitchen well equipped. The only issue was the shower area where the floor was a bit uneven and slimey. Lovely bath though.

The perfect way to celebrate the new year! The Amour Lodge was beautifully decorated and had everything you need; on rainy days we were happy to stay in and enjoy the lodge. It has a big fridge/freezer unlike some lodges we have stayed in so we could stock up on food for the full week. The scenery is beautiful (we had snow for the first couple of days), you are spoilt for choice for places to visit and walks to try - we will definitely be staying again. The added bonus is the hot tub which we went in every night. I highly recommend this lodge - we had no complaints at all.

Date of stay: 8th December 2014
Myself and my partner stayed in the Amour lodge from the 5th-8th December 2014. It was absolutely perfect and even came with a Christmas tree! I could not fault this lodge in any way, it was absolutely spotless and everything was kept very well maintained. It had everything which we needed. I've seen a couple of reviews which mentioned the lack of wifi but for us that was ideal, we wanted a break away from technology! The hot tub was clean and definitely made the lodge a little more special. The staff were extremely helpful, coming from London we phoned in advance to advise that we might be a little late for arrival - of which the heating and lights were turned on for us so all we had to do once we got there was unwind! Overall, It was a really great break away and we will be sure to visit again. I would definitely recommend this lodge for couples wanting a break away from everything!

This was my first experience of staying in a lodge, and what an experience it was! The hot tub was mind blowingly good and the lodge was so comfortable! It literally has EVERYTHING you could possibly need and more! Do not expect phone reception or internet access as it is in a remote area but that did not bother me one bit as this is the type of establishment one visits to get away from your day-to-day life and not sit on work emails!
I loved every second of my stay and thank the lodge keepers for their hospitality.

Date of stay: 3rd November 2014
The surroundings and views were impressive, the lodge very spacious and modern. Well cleaned and maintained apart from the top of the bed post was broken, as people have mentioned.

The hot tub was brilliant and we found it to be on till quite late at night. The radio and surround were a nice little extra but if you want to connect your iPod you need to take a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable.

We stayed as a couple for a romantic getaway and we had exactly that. Thoroughly enjoyed it, would recommend and we have booked again for March.

A couple of minor issues.. A bed post top missing for example. However I thought the facilities were top class. I only give a 7 on value for money because of the hot tub being turned off too early, otherwise it would have been a 9

The Amour lodge was well equipped and very luxurious. Really enjoyed the hot tub which was well secluded over looking the woods. There wasn't a great deal to do in the area, but it's a good place for a romantic getaway.
Only downside is no 3G or WIFI which would help research the area.

The actual lodge gets a 'wow' factor. Every year we spend a long weekend in a lodge with a private hot tub. This lodge was the best so far. The only hitch was the hot tub. This broke down after the first dip on the arrival evening and though was 'fixed' was not consistent when we attempted to use it - sometimes it would work for 10 minutes, sometimes not at all.

Hot tub had a slight smell and was not entirely clear as at other lodges we've been to. That said - it was not bad enough to stop me using it! Rest of the lodge was spotless and staff were very friendly.
Rebecca
superb location and lovely lodges, everything you need for peace and quiet. thank you

Had a really lovely mini moon in the Amour Deluxe log cabin. On arrival, the staff were really helpful and we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. We had such a relaxing break and would recommend to anyone.
Michelle
Lovely lodge, clean and lovely decor. Hot tub great and nice views.
Robert
My family and I (2 Children 4 & 1.5) stayed in Woodlands View No4, and couldn't be happier. We found the lodge spacious, clean, and well equipped. When we arrived the Hot tub hadn't reached temperature so we were given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and we enjoyed that the following eve soaking in the tub. Only small issue we had was the remote for the Blu Ray player was missing, and the buttons on the unit wouldn't actually play the disks we brought for the kids, but luckily there was Netflix built into the TV so that kept them happy enough. We would definitely return in the future.
Sophie
The cottage was amazing. Very beautiful, clean and modern. Location is great too, a short drive away from town and lovely views & walks around.
