Sarah - Nov 2018
"Lodge was spacious warm and cosy. Very private so able to use hot tub without being over looked. Quiet park so great for a relaxing break, with forest on door step. Traffic alittle noisy at times but main road from Scotland so expected, didnt hear it when door closed. Owners and staff friendly and very helpful. Will be booking again."
Lynne - Nov 2018
"We stayed in the Goshawk lodge. It was wonderful! Very clean on arrival, has everything you need including bin bags, dish washer tablets, cooking utensils, even a slow cooker which brought me some personal joy! All you need to take is your food and you are ready.
The hot tub was a great addition and still enjoyable in the middle of November. It was hot and ready on arrival so just half an hour after getting there we were drinking prosecco in the hot bubbly water!
Owners were really friendly and helpful and although we needed nothing from them while we were there, it was clear that they would have been available and ready to help.
Location is great, right by a main road but the traffic isnt noticeable and yet right next to many lovely countryside walks.

Really enjoyed it and cant wait to come back again at some point!"

Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 11 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 18 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 24 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ

Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP

This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.

When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
