Parmontley Hall Lodges Reviews

"Nice lodge and nice surroundings with a couple of nice walks"
Lynn - Jul 2022
"In a beautiful location. Lodge excellent. No extra facilities ie shop or clubhouse. Very quiet. Great if you want peace and quiet. Nearest pub 2 mile walk. Menu not to our liking but that’s personal choice. Overall got value for money contactless check in superb. Manager always answered phone when rung"
Array - Jul 2022
"A lovely lodge on a secluded site by the River Allen. Only 10 lodges on site at the moment, in a field designed for 40 so lots of space. Some facilities on the adjacent caravan park across the river.Local walks restricted by steepness of terrain, but lots of wildlife to observe."
Linda - Jun 2022
"Lovely peaceful and scenic place surrounded by rare ancient woodlands. Very helpful staff and the permanent caravan crowd are so welcoming. We even got invited to a weeding party in the clubhouse on the second night."

Lucy - Nov 2019
"Beautiful lodge in fabulous quiet location. Hot tub was very nice. Decking area lovely."
Alison - Nov 2019
"Enjoyed the cupola lodge, hot tub was spotless, kitchen and kitchen items extremely clean. Dodgy table leg in the living-room. But not something that bothered us. The space in the lodge was unreal. In addition to the 2 bedrooms there was a study and a huge walk in wardrobe. All of our stuff was stored away."
Michelle - Oct 2019

Beverley - Sep 2019

Julie - Mar 2019
"The lodges are situated in a very secluded valley alongside a beautiful wooded fast flowing but shallow river. It is the perfect place for a quite retreat. The lodge we stayed in (Cupola Lodge) was immaculately clean and tidy. It was warm and very well fitted out. The hot tub was wonderful and was maintained perfectly on each day of our stay. We were met on our arrival by the Parmontley Manager, who couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. If you are looking for a relaxing break in a comfortable and peaceful location then this would be a great option."
Philip - Jan 2019
"This is the second time we have stayed in Peel Lodge. It is immaculate, warm and cozy. The lodges are set down in a valley which can't be seen from the roads above, ideal for a quiet get away.We went as a family of 4,2 children and 2 adults and there was ample space inside for all.Including a bathroom and ensuite to the double bedroom. The hot tub is perfect to relax in,especially at night, watching the stars.
Just look out for the friendly ducks at the door on a morning :-)"
Nicola - Jan 2019
"Beautiful place to stay"
Loraine - Jan 2019
"This lodge had better facilities than our home. Very spacious, light and airy"
Samantha - Dec 2018
"3rd time here at Parmontley. Another fantastic weekend break. Beautiful as always, lovely and clean. Fabulous surroundings. Staff so helpful. looking forward to next years visit. We usually stay in Peel lodge but as there was 6 of us we booked Staward. Staward very cosy and a bit more 'lived in'."
Kelly - Dec 2018
"Lovely place in a tranquil setting.3 days of peace and quiet.Locals friendly"
Jon - Dec 2018
"great time had by all, the lodge had all that we needed for a very comfortable break. the hot tub was a great addition as we spent a few lovely time in it. good value for money, in a good position for visiting surrounding areas."
Irene - Oct 2018
"We had an extremely relaxing break with the added bonus of lovely weather."
Joy - Sep 2018
"fabulous lodge, could just do with some wooden kitchen utensils rather than metal"
Debbie - Sep 2018
"Disappointed in cleanliness of lodge. Windows were very dirty, but there had been little rain so marks had been there for quite a while. Chairs around the dining table had no cushion support when sitting on them, need replaced. we had to take cushions of the sofas to put on the chairs so we could eat at table. There was crumbs around legs of sofa and coffee table indicating furniture had not been moved for hovering. Surface dusting appeared okay, but mirror in hall had not be dusted before visit. Shelves in wardrobes and drawers in cabinets had not been wiped out, glad I took some bactericidal wipes with me. There was also and old tissue and contact lens liquid at the side of the bedside cabinet in main bedroom."
Margaret - Jul 2018
"From start to finish, Parmontley Hall Lodges made relaxing so easy. Greeted and treated like old friends. A perfect place to get away from everything."
Rick - May 2018
"Lovely relaxing break, would highly recommend if you want peace and quiet in a very remote area."
Jonathan - Apr 2018
"Lovely place lovely park wardens. Very quiet but we love that"
Gary - Dec 2017
"Amazingly relaxing place. Hot tub was lovely, loads of space between the 4 lodges. Lovey warm welcome. Lovely cosy and warm lodge and great wildlife in peaceful surroundings. Took everything wed need and never left lodge for full weekend. Just a great place to relax and get away fronting everything, already booked for next year again!! Only recommendation is that it could do with a couple of new dining chairs as some had lost their stuffing."
Michelle - Nov 2017
"If you want relaxation this is it"
Keith - Nov 2017
"Peel lodge was just beautiful, spotless and well laid out."
Bridget - Nov 2017
"Lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings, although a little remote for us and the 20 minute drive along windy twisty roads out to the main road gets boring after a while."
Kathy - Oct 2017
"Lovely, can't wait to do it again."
Jacqueline - Jul 2017

Attractions Near Parmontley Hall Lodges

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Parmontley Hall Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 18 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 21 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 23 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 34 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 34 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 38 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 39 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
