About Ribblesdale Lodges

These impressive lodges are ideal for those seeking something extra special. The luxurious lodges and cottages are beautifully set in the grounds of the historic Gisburn Estate and come very highly recommended.  The area around the site is one of great natural beauty with the stunning Ribble Valley (the inspiration for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings) right on the doorstep.  The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach offering numerous outdoor pursuits.

Each lodge has been designed to meet the needs of the most discerning guest and manage to seamlessly blend contemporary design with rural charm and comfort.  Enjoy your own private decking area with a sumptuous outdoor hot tub or take advantage of the on site massage therapist to really unwind. A range of traditional beauty treatments are available along with some more holistic alternatives.  Fantastic semi detached cottages with their own gardens and private hot tubs offer another option for accommodation.

Nearby Pendle Hill offers a challenge to keen walkers who can reward themselves afterwards at the famous Assheton Arms in Downham village (the setting of the BBC's Born and Breed drama).  Just a ten minute walk through the Estate from your lodge, you'll discover the stunning market village of Gisburn with a delightful pub, award winning Italian restaurant and quaint shops selling local organic produce gifts and crafts. The Lancashire coastline and numerous market towns are also within reach.

There are four types of lodge to choose from. The Milan Lodge offers superb luxury and a large open plan living area along with two bedrooms. The Moray Lodge is perfect for two couples and has 2 double bedrooms as well as a private outdoor hot tub. The Balmoral Lodge is larger and has three bedrooms and a large living area as well as a patio.

Ribblesdale Lodges Reviews

"Beautiful location tucked away. Shalets were spacious and comfortable. Hot tub was great. A bit rainy!"
Ingrid - Aug 2022
"Excellent high quality lodge, very clean and kept in good condition. Parkland setting was very nice with plenty of local walks."
Richard - Jul 2022
"Had an absolutely fabulous week here. The lodge was beautiful, very clean and well equipped. The beds however are extremely uncomfortable and as I have multiple health issues I had to purchase mattress toppers to make it bearable! The hot tub is set a few degrees too warm and after a warm day was too hot to get in and the staff could not lower the temperature. Be aware the kettle is not electric it goes on the gas hob, so plan a cuppa in advance as it takes an age to boil hehehe. The surroundings are beautiful and there are very tame peacocks strolling around and the beautiful Fallow deer stags wander round the park. We hand fed them as they are so tame and friendly. This really made it special. The restaurant had a limited but good menu and the food was excellent. The park need to consider installing charging points for electric cars."
Rachael - Jul 2022
"Beautiful location, cabin clean and spacious. However a few minor tweaks would have improved an already great stay. No shade outside and no umbrella for table provided. No plastic glasses as stated."
Rachael - Jul 2022
"Loved this holiday, what’s not to like? a gorgeous location, lovely lodge, staff great and a happy hour on drinks!"
Louise - Jul 2022
"Wonderful place , we would definitely return ?"
Kerry - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodges in a beautiful setting. Had a wonderful time."
Kathryn - Jul 2022
"Beautiful setting and lodge was beautiful as well"
Jane - Jul 2022
"A family holiday spent at Ribblesdale Park was wonderful. The lodge itself was beautiful and clean and the hot tub was much appreciated. The lodge was secure with fencing and a gate which was much appreciated with a small dog and a toddler! The surroundings were idyllic with peacocks and deer roaming the grounds. Although Gisburn itself is a quiet village, there is so much to do in the surrounding area all within a short drive from the Park. A great holiday, we will return."
Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodges in a tranquil setting. Hot tub was great. The only negative was it was quite a walk to the swimming pool from the lodge so we gave that a miss. But overall fantastic weekend with the girls"
Andrea - Jul 2022
"Really good. Weather is critical but the heated pool helped when it was overcast and cool. The hot tub was excellent. The lodge was first class and outdoor area of the lodge was perfect. I felt I could have stayed longer just taking it easy. If I couldn't be bothered to cook, the restaurant would satisfy my needs. The staff were easy to talk to and made us feel special. Because the weather can vary, some information on local attraction would have a help. Advice on where to buy a paper ect would have been welcome if included in the welcoming notes."
Alan - Jul 2022
"Lovely place to relax going again Soon"
Stephen - Aug 2020
"~We don't tend to return to a holiday location once we have been there but if were, we would definitely return here"
Miranda - Aug 2020
"We had a fabulous staycation at Ribblesdale Park on the whole, few minor details ie few problems with the kitchen design and outside gate. We had the Spa treatments from Harriet and that was exceptional. Overall we enjoyed every minute of our holiday."
June - Aug 2020
"We had a lovely week and would love to come back again!"
Millie - Jul 2020
"Lodge could do with an electric kettle."
Julie - Jul 2020
"Great location. Cabin could of been cleaner. Only 1 tea towel for a week and no cloth or sponge for washing up. No laundry facilities in cabin or on site. Decking needed a good clean and repaint. Expected better for the price we paid. We've stayed in much better cabins for a fraction of the price"
Joy - Jul 2020
"Perfect location, relaxing loved the personalised touch with the dog towel."
Ian - Jul 2020
"Will definitely be going back"
Emily - Jul 2020
"Great Lodge on a beautiful park in a quiet setting. Ideal for our family with a teenage daughter to please, the hot tub was superb."

"We had the best relaxing girlie weekend. Would suit so many people. Great cottage and superb location. Would highly recommend and will be coming again!"
Elly - Feb 2020
"Log cabin coils do with some updates curtains falling down and furniture in lounge a bit scruffy."
Angela - Feb 2020
"Great location cant wait to return"
Rebecca - Jan 2020
"We had a great stay again. Hope to book again soon."
Paulette - Jan 2020
"We would have liked the restaurant to have been open a little longer, stopped serving food at 6.45 and one night because of staff meeting it was 5.30, if you have been out all day and did not have much in your accommodation it was a rush to get ready to go out for 5.30 or 6.45, would have preferred it if restaurant stopped serving say 7.30 ish."
Neil - Jan 2020
"Lovely short break away following the New Year etc. Nice and relaxing and ticks all the boxes. Thankyou!"
Lorraine - Jan 2020
"Excellent very clean and comfortable"
Emma - Jan 2020
"A wonderfully relaxing break in a fabulous location. Modern lodge with extra touches and fabulous bathroom options including traditional bath at the bottom of the bed, and monsoon shower.
Top tip the round light switch in the master bedroom is magnetic and can be removed and taken over to the bed with you at night.
Not much room on the decking due to size/type of table, but great hot tub, and very private.
The roaming peacocks were stunning."
Deborah - Jan 2020
"We had a 2 night break with our daughters as a girls break. We had a lovely relaxing time eating, drinking and spending time in the hot tub, with the additional benefit of taking my Westie along too to bark at the peacocks"
Alison - Jan 2020
"Superb pre Christmas family get together, fabulous party house! Enjoyed ourselves so much already booked for next year. Cant recommend highly enough."
Tracy - Dec 2019
"We absolutely love our first visit here! The lodge was gorgeous, comfortable and we had everything we needed. Made full use of relaxing in the hot tub after he mad Xmas rush! We will definitely be returning :-)"
Kelly - Dec 2019
"Had a great time, good base for walking, beautiful surroundings with on site restaurant serving good food. The peacocks were a bonus!"
Julie - Dec 2019
"Second time of visiting and still love every minute!"
Clare - Dec 2019
"Great relaxing break"

During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
