About Claywood Retreat Lodges

Claywood Retreat Lodges have a beautiful woodland setting, the perfect tranquil retreat from the stresses of daily life.  The open countryside in this area really give these lodges an "away from it all" feel and you'll love the amazing views everywhere you look.

All of the lodges have their own balconies to take in the scenery and provide a stunning view over the golf course.

The lodges themselves are exceptionally stylish in design with a modern, spacious and open plan feel.  The Claywood Two is great for couples, with a master king size bedroom and walk in shower.  The large flat screen TV and modern sofas complete the look and of course the fantastic outdoor hot tub is the icing on the cake.

The Claywood Four is also contemporary and spacious but offers two bedrooms so would be perfect for anyone looking for more space.  The covered verandah is ideally for relaxing on and the outdoor hot tub makes an already chic break even more luxurious.

Facilities on the doorstep include a restaurant and bar, golf and clay pigeon shooting.  Additional charges apply for activities.

This area of Suffolk is home to many attractions such as Pleasurewood Hills theme park, Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and Africa Alive.

Claywood Retreat Lodges Reviews

"Unable to rate restraunt as not open.
Otherwise an enjoyable holiday."
Michelle - Jul 2020
"Would definitely return again, although the area around the hot tub with the Astro turf was always soaking wet and not pleasant to walk on could do with decking ."
Stephanie - Jul 2020
"Excellent facilities and a really enjoyable stay."
Sophie - Mar 2020
"Good break and cant wait to return."
Elaine - Mar 2020
"A fantastic place for a short break"
Andrew - Mar 2020
"Will definitely be returning, cannot fault Highlodge, relaxing for both of us and my partner enjoyed shooting every day.
The lodges are beautiful, a king size bed would be nice but apart from that couldnt fault them."
Jayne - Mar 2020
"Good value for money"
Gill - Feb 2020
"Can not fault it. Was perfect for us!"
Melissa - Oct 2019
"did not use restaurant no label on bins for recycling clock did not work tried new battery but still did not work dont think every thing was checked between lets"
Michael - Oct 2019
"Whilst the WiFi was stable, and 'adequate', it was quite slow (3-4 Mbps).

Be aware that depending on your network (Virgin Mobile in our case) you may not have a signal at the lodge.
Note: This is no reflection on the lodge or site as it is beyond their control."
David - Sep 2019
"Amazing!!! I could live in the Lodge its stunning"
Rachel - Aug 2019
"An excellent holiday in beautiful surroundings."
Michele - Jul 2019
"A lovely lodge with lots of home comforts. We could have just stayed in the lodge for the whole holiday and never leave. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was a real treat.
The only critisism is that on the day we were leaving, the window cleaner arrived before check out time while we were still having a shower and getting dressed, which was a bit of a shock. It would be better if window cleaners could arrive after 10am (checkout time)."
Elaine - Jul 2019
"Clean Comfortable lodge - good relaxing break. One small suggestion - bed could do with a new mattress as not very comfortable. Also Oven not very clean."
Spencer - May 2019
"Claywood Lodges is a small quiet development in a very pleasant location. The lodge was spotlessly clean, well furnished and with good towels and toiletries. The hot tub was most enjoyable, sheltered from wind and fairly secluded. One small improvement would be provision of some additional kitchen facilities e.g. a dish-draining rack and pan scourer, for those who are happy to self-cater."
Andrew - Apr 2019
"Lovely holiday. Would definitely book again. Thank you."
Stephanie - Apr 2019
"Booked a one bedroom lodge for a week in March and were not disapointed. The lodge was spotlessly clean warm and well equipped with everything you need including a welcome pack on arrival. The hot tub was immaculate and well maintained....perfect for relaxing in the evenings watching the stars. Lovely surroundings and a very good restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful....we had a fantastic week and can't wait to return."
Angela - Mar 2019
"a fabulous well equipped and comfortable villa. will defo be going back for another restful break"
Mark - Jan 2019
"lovely lodge with great views. Perfect weekend break!"
Tracey - Nov 2018
"You must go its one of the best holidays we have been on its great for people who just want to get away from it all and chill out"
Andrew - Nov 2018
"Best place weve been too very comfortable and peaceful location fab well equipped and plush furnishings"
Nigel - Oct 2018
"Overall, a very high standard. However, lots of cobwebs on outside windows - so wonder when they were last cleaned? We also had a blanket on the sofa covering up some worn areas, which wasn't great."
Steve - Aug 2018
"Highly recommend these lodges. Will definitely return. Thank you to all at Claywood Retreats for a fabulous holiday "
Lynda - Aug 2018
"Excellent, been three times will be back again."
Neil - Jul 2018
"Very enjoyable and good value for money."
Sue - Jul 2018
"well appointed , well equipped lodge"
Val - Jun 2018
"Fabulous mid-week break in this beautiful lodge. This one had a balcony at the back too which offered stunning views & was more private than the seating area facing the club house. We were very impressed & will be looking to book this lodge again."
Tracey - Jun 2018
"The lodge was clean, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped and appointed.
The hot tub is fantastic - the best we have used, at a constant temperature all the time - and the coffee machine is a nice treat."
Diane - Jun 2018
"Beautiful lodge well equipped with lovely views"

Attractions Near Claywood Retreat Lodges

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Claywood Retreat Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 11 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 16 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 18 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 24 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 29 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 32 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 34 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Ickworth House, Park & Gardens - IP29 5QE
about 38 Miles
The National Trust Ickworth House, Park & Gardens is a Beautiful 1800 acre country estate with many attractions including a fantastic adventure playground for the children and a range of nature trails which the whole family will enjoy. The site also has a family friendly cycle route a gift shop and a small café
