Yet another fantastic break at Longnor. As usual lodge was immaculate, A bottle of wine in the fridge, ice in the freezer and a box of chocolates all waiting in the lodge on arrival and a nice card welcoming us back. I can't praise the staff and the place itself enough. Already booked for next year and counting down the days.

Date of stay: 18th May 2018
A very pleasant and relaxing site with very friendly and helpful staff. Caravans are of a high standard and well equipped. The one downside is the WiFi 2gb does not last a week. We looked at emails and the odd website and it lasted 3 days but as we are not addicted to the internet it did not worry us or spoil an enjoyable holiday .
Would recommend the site.

everything was perfect, from the milk in the fridge so you could have a cup of tea as soon as you arrived, the towels were provided so we could jump straight in the hot tub, and the walk in wardrobe was fabulous. The chalet was spotlessly clean, the site was in the most beautiful condition, staff were incredibly helpful but unobtrusive. I couldn't rate it any higher, we will definitely be back.

Our lodge ("Maple") was spotless, comfortable and very well equipped. There was excellent storage space for all our needs and the living / dining / kitchen area was attractive and well organised. Date of stay: 30th June 2017
Our second stay this year at Kale Lodge with our Labrador pup. So relaxing, lovely quiet site, staff that seem happy to be there. It rained and rained, but with a lovely comfortable and well appointed lodge.....plus hot tub, who cares. Always amazed that a dog friendly lodge has no sign of a dog ever having crossed the threshold.
Jennifer, Leicester
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
Lodge was just what we wanted. Loved it
Janet, Cheshire
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017
Nice lodge but maybe needs a bit more of a through clean, lots of spiders webs throughout the lodge and on the decking. Have everything you need for a nice break away, but not very private on the decking as there is a lodge right opposite that can see you getting in and out of your hot tub and going into the lodge.
Only small niggles but easily rectified, we would go again if we got a good deal.
Sarah, Norwich
Date of stay: 23rd June 2017

Emma, Hull
Date of stay: 2nd June 2017
This holiday was perfect! They've literally thought of everything. Everything you need is there. The complimentary bubbly was gorgeous and we enjoyed it in the hot tub as they provided plastic glasses. Appliances were easy to use. The cleanliness was brilliant and the wildlife we saw was great, even had a little squirrel which came and sat with us at breakfast along with the robins. Beautiful scenery around the location and there's some great pubs for lunch near by. The only problem I had with the place was the shower was sort of broken. My partner could use it but it was too hot for me but they couldn't fix it at the time. They had to order a new shower but it wouldn't arrive in time. To be honest, this didn't make the holiday bad, it was still amazing and we're going back soon! Thank you so much for a lovely welcome, and the best holiday as we got engaged while we were there. :D

Date of stay: 26th May 2017
I went for my birthday and was really impressed. Perfect location, quite and peaceful. Lodges were really nice with the private hot tub as advertised and staff are really nice and helpful. They provide you with lots of recommadations, DVDs and reception do sell necessaties. No wifi due to the location or service, but we did buy the wifi for the lodge which worked well! Will be going again in the future.
Alan, Dukinfield
Date of stay: 22nd May 2017
had a good time on out anniversary however was disappointing the wood was closed.
Kelly, Nottingham
Date of stay: 15th May 2017
Only issue I had with the Lodge we stayed in was we had no sun on our hot tub all other lodges that I could see when the sun was out was on their hot tub but ours was covered by the huge tree behind the lodge which was a little upsetting and I think the visiting times are a little dramatic think visiting times should be all day.
David, Pontefract
Date of stay: 8th May 2017

Date of stay: 1st May 2017
Lodge was very comfortable, modern and very clean, everything thought of. Drier is great after you've been in hot tub for drying towells and costumes quickly. Nice bottle of prosecco waiting for us and chocolates. Settee and armchairs very comfortable. Only thing for us is often a problem wherever we go, is that the bed is not like a hotel bed. I have to take my mattress topper with me but then I do have a back problem to be fair. Can't fault anything otherwise. Back again in September!
Chris, Manchester
Date of stay: 24th April 2017
Dog friendly lodge, spotless and well equipped. Secure and private decking area, with lovely hot tub that was checked daily by staff.
Blissfully adult only, so quiet, as befits the tranquil setting. The views from the dog walk area ( and driveway in) were breathtaking.
All staff that we met were super friendly, and helpful without being intrusive.
We loved it so much we've booked another visit to the same lodge.
Lesa, Tamworth

Date of stay: 15th April 2017
Cabin was lovely. Only criticism is more lighting at the back of the cabin around the hot tub/decking area would be beneficial. Wi-Fi included in cabin price would have been a bonus, very little phone reception and internet prices at reception were quite steep.

The cabin and hot tub are lovely, the fact that the tub is covered means that its enjoyable even in winter.
Everything you need is in the cabin, which is clean and tidy, you even get a Christmas tree.
A bit chilly in the afternoon when the heating goes off, coinciding with the time we get back from our day out, but it soon warms up when we put the electric fire on

We stayed at the Cedar Cottage, as we brought our 2 dogs with us, Kayla our Doberman and Jenna our GS/Rottweiler cross. The cottage was like home from home, full of everything we needed for a long weekend. Very clean, tidy and comfortable. The hot tub was brilliant after a long day out walking and was always ready to use. We had a lovely stay, the staff were very helpful when needed, but did not intrude. Our only issue was the lack of reception for the phones and the Wi-Fi access (which can be purchased) was not working whilst we were there. However, overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay again.

The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space, both in the bedroom and in the kitchen/lounge area. A very minor gripe - we just wished that the toilet holder was a freestanding one as we couldn't reach it on the wall behind our left shoulder blades!

Wonderful weekend away, Lodge lovely , spacious and very clean.
Only blip was the sofa as it dipped in the middle very badly, but cant fault anything else.
If the weather had been better that wouldn't have been an issue.
Hot tub was fabulous, would like to go back for a week next time to visit the surrounding area more.
Bonus to have a free taxi service to the local pub, and the food there was excellent.

We stayed mid-week in Ivy lodge, first impressions were good, we have stayed in a few lodges and this is one of the best.

Facilities are great, everything you could want. The only downside, and this may just be us, was the sofa and chair, which was too low and too soft for my wife who suffers with a back problem.

We would definitely consider going back.

When we arrived at the park, we were very pleasantly surprised at the standard of the lodge. Everything that we needed was there and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a large walk in wardrobe with plenty of room for all your clothes, and there is a hot tub outside on the private decking. Cedar is one of the pet friendly lodges that the park has to offer. Cedar is classed as a mini lodge but is still a good size. The other pet friendly lodges are bigger so sleep more people. The staff were excellent and very friendly.

Date of stay: 16th May 2015
Personally I would like to see a few more hooks i.e. for out door coats just inside front door; another double hook in bathroom for hot tub towels and bath towels; and one for kithcen. It would also be useful to have a clock as I don't wear a watch. We stayed in Fir Lodge.
Annamarie, Norwich
Date of stay: 15th May 2015
It was a shame that the previous customers had not cleaned the plates & glasses & were put in the cupboards dirty. Considering it has a dishwasher that was disappointing. However I know cleaners have limited time for turnaround but could just check through crockery to ensure clean. I did not check oven or saucepans as I did no cooking while I was there. This is no reflection on the cleaning staff as it states in the Lodge folder that customers should leave crockery/ cutlery etc clean.
Linda, Norwich

Very well equipt except there was no dishwasher and the hot tub was a little dated but that didn't spoil our stay there.
Robert, Peacehaven
Date of stay: 18th April 2015
Very quiet location. The Reception staff took the time and trouble to escort us to our accommodation and explain how everything works. This is so much nicer than being given a set of keys and a map with an "X" showing where your lodge is.
Neil, Mansfield
Date of stay: 17th April 2015
one minor point i would have liked to have control over the heating in the lodge, was a little warm.

On arrival all the staff at Longnor Wood were very welcoming and friendly. Our cabin was in a perfect position with woodland next to us. The interior was immaculate and the hot tub on the decking was fantastic. We were shown around by a member of staff who explained how everything worked. We had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and a box of chocolates, and as it was Easter weekend we also had a chocolate egg and a card. Very peaceful and relaxing weekend. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

Date of stay: 20th March 2015
We stayed in the Acorn lodge for a short break mid- march and had a fantastic time. The lodge was really clean and had all the things you normally have to think of with a self catering holiday- washing up liquid, tea towels etc.
The hot-tub was lovely and much needed at the end of long days exploring the area.
While in no way a negative, wi-fi in the lodge may have been helpful due to the lack of phone signal but we can certainly live with out it!
Steak night at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a must and very good value. We made use of the pick up/drop off service which was very effiecient and nice to be able to have a few drinks and not worry about getting home.
We loved the area, park and lodge and will be returning next year for our honeymoon. Thank you to all at Longor Wood.

Date of stay: 1st December 2014
Really cosy, they even put a christmas tree up in the lodge which was a nice touch! Hot tub was the perfect temperature, if not a little far from the door of the lodge and it was pretty cold outside! We had an issue with the drainage in our lodge one day, but this was sorted as soon as we told someone about it. Bed was surprisingly comfy and bigger than expected, we even had a walk in wardrobe. Kitchen was fully equipped, there was a small jug of milk in the fridge, plus washing up liquid, cloth and tea towel provided in our lodge. Overall lovely accommodation.

The lodge had everything we needed in it! Couldn't of asked for more. Comfy and perfect base to go visit Bakewell, Buxton and Leek.

Joyce, Barton On Sea, Hampshire
Date of stay: 11th October 2014
The lodge was first class and we could find no fault at all. We were disappointed with the hot tub which seemed to be over chlorinated and despite being advised not to spend more than 20 minutes at a time in it as people had reported skin irritations I only spent 10 minutes in it before breaking out in a rash. Having had several other hot tub holidays with no problems this was a shock, we have never used a hot tub which had chlorine in it before so this was obviously the reason. Consquently we didn't use the tub for the rest of the week. This did not detract from the holiday as we loved the lodge and the surrounding areas and the staff were more than helpful and friendly.

The dishwasher was a bonus and the beds were very comfortable. Slept so well due to the lack of noise and light pollution. Bathrooms were very roomy. Did not feel hemmed in, plent of space around lodges and the grounds are very well kept.

We had a wonderful relaxing time. The bed was a bit lumpy and it might be an idea to get a small step to help get in and out of the hot tub (as we are not very tall). Other than that it was great.
Arthur, Sheffield
Date of stay: 11th July 2014
Couldn't fault the accommodation. Everything was beautiful and clean and the bed and pillows so comfortable. Slept like a baby! Which is what we went for - a peaceful few days away and we knew we would get it at Longnor..
Also appreciate the thought that has gone into the utensils in the kitchen. Didn't want for anything.
Again, a bit on the expensive side for a few days away.

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
