About Woodland Park Lodges

Situated deep within the unspoilt countryside of Shropshire, this exclusive and peaceful site provides an idyllic rural retreat. We recommend Woodland Park Lodges to families looking for somewhere to relax and couples seeking a romantic escape.

The site is located just a few minutes from the charming lakeside town of Ellesmere. Here visitors will find a selection of shops, cafes and pubs. Shropshire is considered to be the green heart of England and walking and cycling are excellent ways to explore. Snowdonia National Park is also within reach offering easy access to numerous outdoor pursuits. Back onsite there is an adventure playground for children and a clubhouse.

There are several types of lodge to choose from, but the VIP lodges are the ones to go for if a private hot tub is desirable. Cedar Lodge VIP and Elm Lodge VIP both sleep 6 and are perfect for families or groups. Oak Lodge VIP sleep 8 and are a good option for larger parties as they are very spacious. All lodges are very well equipped for self catering and have all the mod cons including flat screen TVs. Many of the lodges have beautiful woodland views from the hot tubs.

Woodland Park Lodges Reviews

"Nice lodge.Could benefit from a spruce up and modern hot tub.Overall though a great place to stay."
Darren - Apr 2024
"Great lodge, great hot tub. Location was nice with lovely woodland walks. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always happy and welcoming. I would not hesitate to return as it was a great lodge. Would recommend hiring the gazebo as really gives the added touch. Facilities are great, showers are great with good pressure and always nice and hot. Cons was it could have been cleaner, we brushed up on arrival and it got a lot up, under the beds hadnt even been touched. However I would not let this stop me from returning as cleanliness of beds etc was spot on.WiFi was also poor but manageable, would recommend downloading films before arrival, however they do offer free DVDs in reception which is an excellent touch. The only other con is the lights. When you turn them on they take a while to come on and arent like a standard bulb. Was confusing to work out which light did what and was probably too complex for whats needed."
David - Apr 2024
"on first glance all looked very clean. The kitchen, cooker and fridge were all clean. The shower was a bit grim with a lot of hair coming up from the plug hole. we did not investigate this further however, maybe a good old clean etc would do the trick"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"We stayed in the Orchid Treehouse. Its absolutely beautiful. The kitchen is fully equipped. It was great that we have access to a washing machine as we were able to wash our muddy clothes after walking the dog. The living room was lovely, with a great smart TV. The fireplace was beautiful and cracked out a lot of heat. The bathrooms were very clean, and had toilet paper and hand wash. The only downside is that the bottom of the shower is very shallow so can sometimes over run. Plenty of towels, green and white so you can distinguish between your hot tub and indoor towel. The hot tub was very clean, large and hot. Cant ask for anymore. The garden furniture and balcony was a 10 out of 10. Bedrooms are tight but manageable. I am 5ft 4 and my feet did overhang the bed so I wish the beds were a bit bigger. There are wardrobes and a set of draws in the bedrooms. There is a hairdryer also. There is also a little cupboard with a broom, Dustpan and brush, iron&board and clothes horse. The woodland walk this time of year was extremely muddy and slippy and not suitable for prams. But I managed to do it eight months pregnant and my 18 month on my husbands shoulders. Tesco is about a seven minute drive away and we found it to be a lot more expensive than our local Tesco. So if you can do a food shop beforehand, this may be advisable."

"A comfy basic lodge. Needed a few more kitchen implements., like a potato peeler, sharper knives and a proper chopping board.Lovely bed and good heating.Well maintained hot tub. Some areas of lodge needed a bit of TLC.But overall it was good.Beech lodge quite cosy for 4 adults, probably better with 2 young kids."
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"Excellent definitely go back"
Jane - Feb 2024
"As a family we couldn't have asked for more regarding the accommodation and location of the Woodland Lodge. The Lodge was immaculate, all facilities working and everything you could need to self cater. Furniture was comfortable and well kept. The hot tub was a real bonus. On site there was a woodland walk which was well marked and good fun to go along and you could travel quickly into Ellesmere for things to do and see (e.g. parks for children, shopping and the local gin distillery!). Thank you to the Lodge staff for providing a Places to Visit guide!"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Our 9th year of visiting woodland park lodges and it never disappoints. Lovely spacious lodges in beautiful woodland. Family time and relaxation......"
Nicola - Jan 2024
"Peaceful break in a lovely lodge."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Great place, lovely lodge but the hot tubs are overlooked by neighbouring lodges / treehouses which is a big no for us - we could see what the guy next door was looking at online in the hot tub from our lounge area - if they could put screening up it would be lovely but whilst the treehouses over look each other we wouldnt go back due to personal preference. The treehouses , location, cleanliness was all lovely though"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Absolutely amazing. This was truly home away from home. Everything about the lodge was just perfect. Would highly recommend."
Natanial - Jan 2024
"Beautiful lodge with everything supplied"
Robbie - Dec 2023
"Only negative thing was the shelves inside the oven were too narrow and kept dropping down inside the oven, especially if you had something heavier than a pizza cooking on the shelf."
Jenny - Dec 2023
"Superb, all you need to be alone with family and relax for your holiday"
Gareth - Nov 2023

"Amazing stay in a beautiful Lodge. Hot tub and surrounds were lovely."
Hayley - Nov 2023
"An amazing stay in orchid treehouse, the accommodation had everything you could possibly need for a week stay. Beautiful local walks and a short drive to Wales for even more places to visit. I loved watching the stars in the hottub and knowing the dog couldn't escape"
Danielle - Nov 2023
"Had a fab time, staff were great, the lodge was perfect & the location was beautiful! Look forward to returning again."
Brogan - Nov 2023
"The lodge was perfect, spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. The hot tub area was extremely private with an amazing view, what more could you want."
Melissa - Nov 2023
"Lodges are lovely and spacious. Everything was clean when we arrived, this was our second holiday here. The woodland walk is a must! Beautiful location in the middle of the woods, very quiet and peaceful. Only downside is the mattress isnt the best quality and very squeaky which was annoying but else from that no complaints."
Ashleigh - Nov 2023
"As above.. We like its hidden away. Qualities Nearness to to our Shropshire family . I am elderly and now so are my friends . We had many laughs with them getting lost. Wi-Fi a bit of a struggle but we are used to that in that area. I thought Great for my Daughter as it stopped her worrying about work contact . Which is one of the reasons we come. Sheer Magic for us to escape the world for a while!!!!!!! THANK YOU. We hope to come again!!!!!"
Heather - Nov 2023
"We really enjoyed our time at your holiday park. When we arrived the lady on reception was friendly and gave us the information we needed and any emergency contacts we might need. The lodge was beautiful, very clean and spacious. The location is brilliant, central to lots of dog friendly walks. We had updates if the emergency contacts changed, the only negative I can say is the bubbles on the hot tub would not increase when using the buttons. The hot tub was maintained every day and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and we would definitely book again."
Jamie - Nov 2023
"We've just returned from an amazing stay at Woodland Park Lodges and we were already talking about returning before we even left. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the lodge we stayed in (Oak) was spacious, well kept and perfect for our family. There is so much to do in the area within a relatively short drive, we packed in a lot of activities! All of us had the best time and we will definitely be back"
Linzi - Nov 2023
"We all enjoyed our 4 night break and would book again. Woodside lodges site is in a great location, with access to so many nearby attractions."
Elizabeth - Nov 2023
"Lovely comfortable lodge set in the middle of well maintained woodlands.Even though there are other lodges around you, the way the site is laid out makes you feel as if youre the only ones there. Made use of the barbecue, hot tub and well equipped kitchen while we were there. Only suggestion would be for some hooks to be added to hang towels by the hot tub and some shelves in the bathroom. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was clean and we had plenty of space. The staff were ace and easy to communicate with. The bed and couch were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you needed and hot tub was brilliant.Location was perfect for us, nice, peaceful and quiet."
Sharon - Nov 2023
"A lovely lodge, clean and spacious with everything you need to have a fantastic break away. Set in beautiful scenery, it was relaxing and peaceful. Even though each lodge and treehouse was booked up, we didnt hear any noise from other guests. We made some wonderful memories as a family and would highly recommend Woodland Park Lodges to others."
Verified Guest - Sep 2023
"Lovely lodge with everything you could need for a short break."
Julie - Jul 2023
"Lovely stay in the Beech Lodge. Very clean and organised. Had everything we needed. Hot tub was great for relaxing when the children were asleep, although we found that the temperature wouldn't turn down even though we kept setting it to lower; it was a little bit too hot for us after about 20 mins. Location is good, we visited Shrewsbury, Ellesmere, Colwyn Bay, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Chester Zoo and the British Iron Works. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay; we only wish it was longer."
April - Jul 2022
"The only issues I have with the place are petty and unimportant, of things they have no control over such as the lack of phone signal and wifi. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again!"
Samuel - Jul 2022
"Private hot tub, wifi intermittent. Stayed in redwood large lodge short walk to picnic area and had anchors to attach dogs leads which was a bonus."
Cheryl - Jul 2022
