Lakesway Reviews

"Had a lovely time on this holiday. Very relaxing."
Gill - Aug 2020
"Nice clean modern accommodation in an upmarket feel site. Great modern restaurant/bar serving great food. Nice little park area for children. Overall very pleasant, nothing to fault with the site or accommodation. Felt a little on the outskirts of main tourist areas but enjoyed the driving anyway."

Sheila - Sep 2019
"Very good, clean and tidy will be back"
Shaun - Sep 2019
"We had a Escape 6 which was spacious and really nicely decorated. There were hundreds of cobwebs and large spiders outside however meaning every morning we were walking into them to get out. This was particularly an issue near the hot tub and outside table. There is no shop on site which is a shame. Wainwrights serves food in the evening which is excellent. Really good quality and value for money but doesnt open for breakfast even on the weekends. Its around a 20 minute drive to Bowness which is not too far. I would definitely return."
Shannon - Sep 2019

Amelia - Sep 2019
"As always a good holiday nicely placed park set in a lovely place and easy access to most places in the lakes too"
Valerie - Aug 2019
"Stayed in an Escape 4 lodge with hot tub. Very clean, well equipped with nice decking surrounding it. Bar area and restaurant were a bonus and food excellent. Park is very clean and well maintained. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
Only issue was the approach road which is VERY narrow and could do with the hedges being cut back and lowered so you can see what is coming, and also more passing places."
Lindsay - Aug 2019
"Great relaxing break with the family. Hot tub was a plus. On site restaurant excellent food and entertainment good. Friendly staff on site especially friendly George who walked round talking to holiday makers. I think the site could do with an in pool and spa as it has an up market feel about it. We will definitely be returning."
Helen - Aug 2019
"Lovely and clean. Loved how there was a smart TV which enabled me to sign into Netflix to watch what we wanted instead of the basic channels."
Daniel - Aug 2019
"Beautiful quiet park for relaxing and and within easy distance to go exploring the lakes"
Philip - Jul 2019

Attractions Near Lakesway

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Lakesway. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 4 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 12 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 15 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 16 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 20 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 26 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 34 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
