About Flusco Wood

Flusco Wood is part of the exclusive Bouja Luxury Boutique Breaks Collection and it's easy to see why!  Beautifully located within majestic woodland Flusco Wood has one of the most enviable settings we have seen.

Close to Ullswater one of the most popular and beautiful areas of the Lake District there is so much to do right on the doorstep.  Walking, water sports, wildlife and enjoying the spectacular scenery are just some of the delights that await.

The lodges at Flusco Wood are just as gorgeous as the setting! Take the Savannah Premier Lodge for example - a luxury and boutique holiday home with a super stylish open plan interior.  This lodge sleeps 4 and comes with a private out hot tub accessed from the lodge on to your own decking area.  Other lovely lodges at Flusco Wood include the Eamont Premier which also comes with decking, hot tub and stunning design and layout.

Ullswater itself is fantastic for exploring - from watersports to waterfalls and charming Lake District villages we're sure you'll be left wanted to stay longer!  We recommend a trip to Greystoke with its welcoming country pub and castle - famously known as being the home of Lord Greystoke, better known as Tarzan.  Even better you can walk here from Flusco Wood!

A bit further afield you could visit Keswick and Penrith which also are beautiful for days out and exploring the lakes.  For families a visit to the Lake District Wildlife Park is brilliant.  The Ullwater Steamers are also a fun activity in this area.  We also recommend a visit to Rydall Mount and Gardens, the former home of William Wordsworth.

Flusco Wood Reviews

"We had a wonderful stay at Flusco Wood in the Carlton Signature Lodge. The lodge comfortably accommodated our group of 3 adults, 1 child, and our 7 month old puppy. The furniture and fittings were incredibly comfortable, making our stay cosy and relaxing. The highlight for us was definitely the hot tub, which provided a great way to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The park itself was well-maintained and tidy. The enclosed dog field was a fantastic addition, allowing our puppy to run freely and play without any worries. The only suggestion we have is the addition of a small shop or cafe on site for quick snacks or essentials.Overall, our stay at Flusco Wood was fantastic. We enjoyed the comfort of the accommodation, the hot tub, and the park facilities. We would definitely recommend it to others looking for a relaxing getaway."
Gillian - Apr 2024
"Superb lodge with all mod-cons and the most comfortable bed! 2 bathrooms always a good thing and the likes of a Smart TV, nespresso coffee maker, and BOSE speaker shows the quality of these Lodges!"
Richard - Apr 2024
"Great cabin. Had all we needed for the week ????"
Joanne - Apr 2024
"Lodge was fantastic. The only thing I had to complain about was the TV remote had a broken button, this was swapped right away. Hot tub was great but could be doing with a little skimmer net for you to fish the leaves ect out that fall in during the day. Beds were comfy and the lodge was warm and cozy."
Matthew - Mar 2024
"Really happy with our choice of lodge.Beautiful comfortable lodge..Were a family of four with 2 teenagers, the twin room was lovely and spacious with its own separate en suite, kids werent on top of each other so no bickering over space!Loads of storage in both bedrooms.Kitchen had everything we needed for self catering.Smart tvs in living room and the double bedroom.Nice sized bathrooms, no bath but lovely big shower.Decks at both sides with table to sit out and everyone loved the hot tub.Perfect home away from home"
Kerri - Mar 2024
"Luxurious lodge with everything you need. Well definitely be back. Spacious and clean."
Julie - Mar 2024
"Lovely cosey lodge with everything you need , hot tub was a bit iffy with the lid coming half off , but overall we were happy with our purchase"
Daniel - Mar 2024
"Great location, lodge lovely, second visit.More pans for cooking needed, bits of furniture need upgrading"
Daniel - Mar 2024
"Was an easy process"
Dayan Meshak - Mar 2024
"Great lodge, really spacious. A few areas could do with upgrading or fixing, mould in shower, dent in door, however we were in a pet friendly lodge and I imagine the turn over and work that goes into these lodges will be much more. There was nothing that would prevent us coming back and it was still a really lovely lodge and we were all delighted to be there. As we were there for 5 days we could have done with an extra set of towels each though Im sure if we asked they would have changed them."
Lynsey - Mar 2024
"Sometimes the pictures look better than when you actually see it in person, but WOW this time it was better in person. Absolutely beautiful views, spacious living space we stayed in Lark with alot of privacy for the hot tub. Kitchen with all the necessary equipment you need. we will definitely be returning it was so peaceful.Perfect for couples"
Lianne - Mar 2024
"The rural where we stayed was very spacious and well kitted out and perfect for the dogs. It had a few stains on the sofas as you would expect for a dog friendly lodge but these were covered by throws that were provided. The kitchen was brilliant and the bathrooms also. I would recommend this lodge for people staying with pets."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Fantastic site with great accommodation and helpful staff. We are guests every year and look forward to returning next year."
Carol - Mar 2024
"Fab time had in beautiful surroundings inside & out"
Jonathan - Mar 2024
"Carlton signature was a beautiful lodge but didnt feel like a lodge when you are inside. Plenty of space, full kitchen facilities, modern and clean. Would definitly stay here again"
Tyler - Mar 2024
"Lovely time , the accommodation was spotless and cosy . We had everything we needed. Staff at check in were really helpful and nice already looking to book our next get away here :)"
Ellie - Feb 2024
"Lodge comfortable and has everything you need but hot tub was not as clean as it could have been which was not evident until the Saturday when we went in in the afternoon in the day light."
Kim - Feb 2024
"Very comfortable lodge. Facilities were great. Home from home. Beds were comfortable and plenty of hot water. It was great that we had a bath. Tv was smart so you can connect to Netflix. It had a dvd player too."
Mandy - Feb 2024
"The lodge was equipped with everything we needed and the hot tub was on and ready when we arrived."
Helen - Feb 2024
"We booked this holiday purely just so the dog could have a getaway experience with us and he loved it. So many lovely walks nearby including the onsite walk to Greystoke. We also enjoyed our part of the holiday, the hot tub was high enough for us to relax without having to worry about the dog trying to get in as he wandered around the decking. The staff were also very welcoming. The lodges were close enough to Penrith that if we needed any extra bits and pieces we could just drive through to get them ourselves. We will definitely be back!"
Luke - Jan 2024
"Lovely lodge"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Lovely relaxing weekend away"
Ruth - Dec 2023
"Lovely lodge and hot tub, really nicely decorated and was very clean. Few things that would be nice is a washing machine actually included in the lodge and a large brush to sweep up the floor with. The stairs outside were very slippy in the weather conditions and I did end up slipping down the stairs as the stairs are also slightly sloped down instead of being flat. All in all would stay again."
Sophie - Nov 2023
"Lovely lodge but I think small lamps in the lounge area would be useful. It was either the main lights or nothing. Would have appreciated a pint of milk or a welcome something ? Found clothes left behind by previous occupants in bedroom drawers too. Went with a small dog and other lodges I have stayed at had a dog bowl, bed & little treats. Not important but a nice touch."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Had a great time at Fluscowood, the lodge was great and very clean. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would love to come back"
Gemma - Nov 2023
"The Lodge is perfect, clean and has everything you need to prepare meals. The hot tub was checked everyday, our only thing was when people walked past the end of the decking they could see us, maybe a privacy fence, the same that is around the tub, would be better., at the end of the decking. The bed was super comfy, we didnt use the twin room so cant comment. Plenty of storage in the whole of the lodge, never had that before in a lodge. A couple of negatives but it didnt affect our stay, no stool in the main bedroom for the dressing table but there was one in the twin, the bedside lamps were full of dust in the main bedroom and in the lounge area a couple of small lamps would be an added bonus the only choice is the main lights which are quite bright. The park is quiet and is ideal for Keswick, Penrith and Ullswater. We also visited Lowther Castle after a recommendation from the Flusco Wood website, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall a perfect stay and would book it again. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble always ready with a smile."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Very enjoyable stay, the site itself is absolutely pristine and quiet. The lodge was superb, clean and with decent Wi-Fi and facilities. It is quite isolated and nothing much within walking distance though Pooley Bridge and Penrith are 10 minutes away by car with Keswick not much more than 15. Would definitely return and highly recommend.Only one issue with the lodge itself, the walk in shower although excellent could do with a non-slip mat or some form of anti-slip surface added - it could be dangerous if care isnt taken."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Would highly recommend this site we will visit again for definite"
Helen - Aug 2020
"Id have preferred a better quality mattress."
Geneive - Aug 2020
"The only thing I can fault is the cleaners should have an inventory checklist as it stated we get tea/sugar etc on arrival but we didnt? Also we didnt have a bottle opener but thankfully Carol bought one down."
Daniel - Aug 2020
"Lovely site, nice and peaceful with lots of places to explore close by"
Alan - Aug 2022
"4 night stay Mon to Friday - family of 3. We had booked a Gobarrow lodge but were offered an upgrade to an Askham Wood lodge before we arrived. Staff very helpful and informative and check in was very quick and easy. The Park location is good only 6 miles from J40 M6 and is very well maintained and secure. Our lodge was very clean, fresh and modern and had everything we needed (and more) for our stay. The decked areas and hot tub were perfect for relaxing after long days out. We booked a Sainsburys grocery delivery to the site for 6.30pm( no issues) the nearest local convenience store is based at the Esso petrol station at the Rheged centre about 3.5 miles away - great for odd things you may have forgot to bring with you!! Places to go: Pooley Bridge/Ullswater only 5 miles away. Take the boat trip to Glenridding (not cheap) well worth it for the fantastic views. Can also try paddle boarding there with Alfresco adventure - hire board and wet suit. Dalemain House is about 5 miles away and is worth a visit, the gardens are lovely, nice tea room and really good tour guides. Rheged centre is really good, nice cafe with a good choice of food and drink. We also went to the cinema there - 2 screens and latest movies very good value for money Keswick - lovely town, lots of shops and places to eat and you can walk around Derwent water which is really nice. Flusco Wood gets a 10/10 from us."
Sue - Aug 2022
"Had a great break in a lovely lodge ( very modern and clean and with a fabulous hot tub ). We were in the Kingfisher so fairly private setting . Will be back !"
Lisa - Jul 2022
"We stayed In Cabin Penrith. The Cabin was spotless so was the hot tub. We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning! The dog also thoroughly enjoyed himself! Thank you ?"
Mark - Jul 2022
"Initially booked the wrong accommodation wasn’t until the week before we noticed. I contacted them and they was able to change my accommodation thankfully. I would like to thank all the staff at flusco and a special thank you to Chloe. You went above and beyond."
Paul - Jul 2022
"Lovely holiday home. Very clean and comfortable. I would only say the location of the hot tub is a bit disjointed. More than enough room on the decking which would allow those using the tub to interact with those not using it."
Grant - Jul 2022
"Great place to stay for a quiet getaway. Hot tubs and accommodation clean . Had a lovely time away ?"
Kim - Jul 2022
"Lovely peaceful site good dog walking places"

Attractions Near Flusco Wood

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Flusco Wood. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 8 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 15 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 15 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 17 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 32 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 36 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 38 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 39 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
