About Meadows End Lodges

Perfectly situated for exploring the delights of the Lake District, Meadow’s End Lodges is a truly tranquil holiday location, perfect for couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The contemporary lodges are set in peaceful meadowland, where walking, cruising on Lake Windermere or relaxing in your own private hot tub is the order of the day.

This gorgeous location holds a David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation - and within easy reach of Meadow’s End Lodges, you’ll find golfing, watersports and adventure days. Eaves Wood in Silverdale is perfect for cycling and walking – and you can try the Dow Crag & Coniston Walk which starts with a cruise on Coniston Water and usually takes around seven hours to complete.

All the luxury lodges at Meadow’s End have their own private hot tub on secluded private decking. We love Boreray Lodge – it’s the perfect romantic retreat. The spacious double bedroom has direct access out to the hot tub and we think you’ll love the contemporary interior design. It even has a well stocked wood burning stove to keep you cosy on those chilly evenings.

The Lake District is a beautiful part of the country It has breathtaking views and there is so much to see and do – from sailing, canoeing and water-skiing at Carnforth to taster courses in paragliding at Penrith! Arnside and Silverdale are beautiful villages with an abundance of wildlife and Ambleside is a great base for a number of scenic walks. There is an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants too.

Meadows End Lodges Reviews

"Not keen on the semi-detached idea. We had night owls as neighbours and coukd hear doors banging and chatting as well as hot tub even after 11.30pm . Went in till 3am. Overall lodge was nice"

"Great break in quiet setting near beautiful village of Cartmel."

"Lodge was amazing, lovely and clean! The kitchen had everything we needed, lots of space and the hot tub was lovely"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend, and intend to book yearly. Friendly and helpful staff, an ideal getaway."
Stuart - Mar 2024
"Honest review. Lodge layout is good. Log burner fire was nice, as was the hot tub. Nice location. Everything in terms of utensils and appliances was provided. However, the major let down was the cleanliness. Dog hairs were everywhere, especially on the sofas, and the lodge itself smelt of dog. This is fine if you are a pet owner but makes for an unpleasant stay if you are not. Also, more lighting needed around hot tub area."
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"My favourite of the lodges, good layout and 2 walk in showers."
Clare - Feb 2024
"Lovely place is very peaceful lodge was well equipped in side.Sit very clean and tidy.Hot tub was great not over looked. Will book again in the future."
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"The lodge was very clean inside with all the essentials for a nice short break. We had access to smart TV apps via a stable wifi too. Staff were quick to respond to any messages, helpful and polite. Hot tub was ready to dip into and private enough to relax and enjoy after a long walk. Overall we loved our stay at the Texel lodge and if we ever fancy maxing and relaxing with a hot tub, nice local walks and a quiant village nearby we will be sure to book again."
Darren - Feb 2024
"A lovely spacious lodge. Beaituful, clean and warm. An added bonus of a double size bath. The hot tub was a great hit with my grandchildren. Fabulous"
Carole - Feb 2024
"Everything about my stay at Veedens lodge was absolutely brilliant. Thanks"
Chris - Feb 2024
"A pleasant week's stay here at Teesdale. Site was very quiet. Plenty of places to visit around the area. Locally, found inadequate number of shops. Best eating restaurant by far is Hazelmere in Grange centre."
Alison Hurst - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely weekend in Vendeen lodge. The lodge was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Not only two en-suite bedrooms, but also a small loo by the back door. The lodge was also immaculately clean ????. The site was nice and peaceful and the hot tub was perfect for star gazing. Can highly recommend."
Joanne - Jan 2024
"Lovely and cosy cabin. Hot tub was great. Would definitely return and recommend to others! There was only one thing that was a shame, we tried to call about logs for the fire but the guys phone was switched off :(."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Excellent time had over new years in the Romney Lodge,. Home from home. Everything you need is included & the hot tub just tops it off. Highly recommend, will definitely be back."
Scott - Jan 2024
"Everything was fantastic from the moment we arrived only thing is the hot tub needs levelling apart from that I have already recommended you to all our friends"
Stephen - Jan 2024
"Fabulous break away, very relaxing lodge with everything you need. We would definitely recommend to anyone"
Dawn - Dec 2023
"Had a lovely stay with early check in. The site and surrounding areas are very well kept with a 20 minute walk into the village that has 3 or 4 pubs, a couple of cafes and shops. The only reason I haven't given a 5 star is the comparison with other Autograph lodges. At Meadows End you have to pay extra for robes, slippers, hot tub towels etc which is a great option but not reflected in the price. Also the welcome pack wasn't really up to much. Having said that we had a relaxing break in the snow and would return one day."
Verified Guest - Dec 2023
"Amazing lodge and the surroundings are superb. Attention to details in the lodge is of Hugh standards."
Nadian - Nov 2023
"Double bed was very small and could easily get a bigger bed on there ...No instructions of how the cooker worked Quite far away from anythingNo directions of where you were stayingStaff were quite noisy when going about the park and as such we were woken up alot"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Just amazing fabulous accommodation"
Nicola - Nov 2023
"Stayed at Shaun lodge, was clean and tidy throughout. Hot tub was a good size and checked daily. Site was lovely and quiet and only a few miles from Cartmel. Sticky toffee pudding and fresh milk was a nice touch. Will be returning soon."
Michael and Kirsten - Nov 2023
"Nice quiet place to stay short walk into cartmel would stay there again"
Steven - Nov 2023
"lovely place,nice and clean lodge"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"A well equipped, comfortable & spacious lodge."
Janet - May 2023
"Overall Shaun Lodge was absolutely fantastic. The facilities in the lodge itself were really good, absolutely loved the hot tub and the fire stove. Also in a great location with Cartmel just a mile walk down the road. Only things I think that could improve the lodge itself would be a tv in the bedroom and the wifi being stronger. The famous Cartmel sticky toffee pudding in the fridge was a lovely touch."
James - Aug 2020
"Had a lovely relaxing holiday very quiet and private the only thing is the lodge is a little dated compared to others but this wouldn't stop me returning as it has everything else such as location privacy and peace"
Simon - Jul 2022
"fantastic could have left some cream to go with sticky toffee pudding"
Keith - Jul 2022
"Absolutely a lovely lodge, close to all amenities, and was good base to explore The Lakes"
Dawn - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodge had everything we could of needed, clean, tidy and a great location"
Francesca - Jul 2022
"It's a beautiful location and we loved the lodge, although there are a few niggles but I think it's just wear and tear but nothing serious. It's well equipped and we had everything we needed. The weather was beautiful and we spent hours in the garden watching the beautiful birds drink from the water feature. We walked into Cartmel once but then the races were on and we decided to stay away from the crowds as we had our dog with us. The garden is not enclosed so perhaps be aware you will always need to watch over them while sitting outside. This wasn't a problem though and we are looking to return this year. Absolutely loved it."
Janet - Jul 2022
"We had a lovely holiday . The lodge was comfortable and had been equipped to a high standard . Hot tub was amazing . Sparkly and clean . The only thing I would have liked was a gate each end of decking to make a small area dog secure . We would book again in a heart beat . Thank you"
Philippa - Jul 2022
"The Lodges overall quite good. The set up of lodges was well thought out."
Brian - Jul 2022
"Amazing place and well maintained"
Deepika - Jul 2022
"Fantastic lodge, fantastic location. A cafe or shop on sight would be a bonus but overall no complaints. Already looking to book again for next year"

Attractions Near Meadows End Lodges

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Meadows End Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 7 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 8 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 9 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 17 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 24 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 25 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 35 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
