These fabulous Finnish lodges have spectacular views over the Yorkshire countryside and are just 30 minutes from Hull, the City of Culture award winner. Surrounded by gorgeous beaches and a stunning coastline, you can enjoy dramatic clifftop views and miles of superb walks as well as day trips to stately homes, seaside resorts and local attractions.

There's lots to see and do - Hull's East Park has children's adventure areas and plays host to a range of open air concerts. Elio's Restaurant at Barton-upon-Humber uses fresh fish and local produce to create classic Italian and French dishes - and you can enjoy swimming, aqua-glide, squash and badminton at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre.

These solid log lodges are utter luxury. We love the Berkshire, a contemporary and beautifully designed cabin for up to six people. It has a modern open plan kitchen and living area with a flat screen Smart TV, Blu-ray player, Freeview and a games console. French doors lead to the large decking area with private outdoor hot tub.

Hull is renowned for its vibrant Marina and stunning Georgian architecture - and the city's Maritime Museum will take you on a fascinating journey through arctic whaling, deep sea fishing and the development of the docklands.

"Fantastic lodge cant fault it at all - simply beautiful furnishings the sofas are so comfortable the jacuzzi was a BIG hit with us all. (My teenage son 14) now wants one. Was so relaxing the town of Withernsea wasnt much but we travelled to York and Lincoln (1hr 35mins) for dinner and sightseeing was really worthwhile. If I had to choose something that wasnt great was the amount of wasps around the lodge (13) maybe a wasp catcher or trap could be put around to help but all in all would definitely recommend and would return."

"Absolutely love the new Tamworth Pet. We usually struggle with our dog as he's so small and easily fits through the gaps of most 'pet friendly' lodges. This is truly pet friendly with a well stocked welcome pack for your little pooch as well as it's own fenced off area to run around it. Probably the most pet friendly accommodation that I've ever stayed in. For the humans, there's a very good sized hot tub that is checked every morning and both bedrooms have their own en-suite. The open plan living room, diner and kitchen was very comfortable and well equipped. On a final note, I love the views at Fairview. Even at the end of October, I found myself sitting out on the decking (with a hot drink!!) feeling completely relaxed just taking in the views"

"Feb 2020. The lodge (no 5) was fantastic. It was spacious, really well appointed, and very clean. The underfloor heating was great and ideal for a winter break. There is a large hot tub on the deck that is well sheltered from the prevailing winds and we use it extensively. With a clear sky and the deck lights off it was great for star watching. A lot of thought has gone in to the siting of the lodge as you have views of open countryside and do not feel overlooked, which adds to the feeling of seclusion. We didn't have to trouble the owners for anything but they were welcoming and friendly and more than happy to suggest places to visit or eat. We had a fantastic break and will definitely be returning."

Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL

about 11 Miles

Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all. From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for. Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster. Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand. Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.

The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY

about 11 Miles

Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families. In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience. Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats. The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things. We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too. We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.

The Deep - HU1 4DP

about 15 Miles

Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.

Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET

about 22 Miles

Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love. There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls. Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too. A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature. Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel! If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.

Normanby Hall Country Park - DN15 9HU

about 28 Miles

Normanby Hall Country Park has a fantastically tranquil location Set in the 300 acres of Normanby Hall estate offering a relaxing choice for a family day out. The stunning grounds are abundant with wildlife as well as beautiful flora and fauna and there is no better place for a summer picnic. There is also plenty of open space for children to run around. The Deer park is sure to be a big hit with the children with herds of fallow deer to spot.

Madhyamaka Meditation Centre - LL21 9NG

about 35 Miles

Madhyamaka Meditation Centre a unique and very special centre in the Yorkshire moors offering amazing meditation experiences for experts and novices. The beautiful setting really ads to the experience and the gorgeous grounds are abundant with wildlife including Squirrels, Deer and Birds including Red Kites. The centre is now offering a special weekend retreat for families which includes family friendly guided meditations as well as fun activities such as face painting, games and a barbeque.
