Cayton Bay Reviews

"Great very comfortable. Fitted sheets would be good, for feedback."
Susan - Apr 2024
"Very welcoming"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"All the staff fantastic on the camp. The caravan was so clean and we was looked after on our holiday we will be back Thank you Dave"
David - Mar 2024
"Clayton bay is by far the best park resort we have visited in the last few years! All staff from booking in, bar staff, shop staff, facilities and entertainers were extremely friendly and polite! Lots of parking on site so no need to worry about lugging your suitcase miles to the caravan/car park. The caravan itself had all amenities required and was clean throughout. Lots of things to do in surrounding areas including three local beaches! The on site entertainment was by far the best though! Arcades were well maintained and staffed. Pool onsite which was warm and had regular activities you could book, although we only did a normal swim. There was crazy golf, kart riding, arts and crafts, trampoline and climbing on site. The booking staff were friendly and pleasant. These activities are easily booked via the website or by visiting the booking hub. The children's activities though were excellent. From professor slime, messy play, paw patrol, pip and posy and kiddy disco. The children's entertainers were brilliant and really responsive to all the children present. Liam, Lauren, beth, Amelia and Matt were amazing. Although Matt really stood our for us! Activities were reasonably priced too. Food on site was tasty and reasonably priced. We ate regularly at the restaurant and this was always clean and the soft play inside it was brilliant to keep the children entertained while waiting for food."
Lauren - Mar 2024
"Lovely caravan but struggled with height of sofa as was quite low and we found it difficult to get up from"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"This was a fantastic caravan, it contained everything needed and more. The website doesn't list all what is included and it should as that's an additional selling point. There was a washing machine, hoover, ironing board, iron, ottoman beds. Ours included a hot tub, this was checked daily by staff, unfortunately I couldn't find any instructions and as soon as the lid was lifted it started to lose heat meaning that in cold evenings after 30 minutes it was down to 34 degrees and wouldn't warm back to 38 degrees until the lid was closed- I don't have a hot tub at home so I'm not sure if that's usual or not.New mattresses and mattress protectors on the bed would have pushed my reviews up to top marks, the beds were ok but could have been improved to bring them in line with the high standard of the rest of the caravan"
Dionne - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed the lodge. Great location. It was really clean other than the pink chairs were a little dirty when we arrived and the cushions was missing but this was rectified straight away. Other than that it was really nice and big. We couldnt fault it."
Jennifer - Nov 2023
"the bed was abit soft and the pillows very thin."
Sandra - Nov 2023
"Excellent location the lodge was very spacious and clean would definitely stay here again."
Jeanette - Nov 2023
"Caravan not cleaned properly on arrival. Awful smell on entering, stains on sofa, crumbs and cereal on the floor, curtain hanging off the window and last persons bedding just left outside the caravan for our whole stay. Beds were comfy but again awful sweaty smell. I had to thoroughly clean before we could settle."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"We had a good holiday at Cayton Bay. The caravan was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly. We met the manager and he was very efficient and very friendly, offering us good advice on where to go locally for the best sights. The food in the restaurant was of good quality, well cooked and speedily served. The entertainment was well done and seemed to be popular though not always to our tastes. Though we did not need them, the facilities on the site for families were amazing, with plenty to keep kids busy and entertained. We would thoroughly recommend Cayton Bay as an excellent holiday destination."
Malcolm - Nov 2023
"Great static, clean, well provisioned and next to a fantastic beach for surfing. High ropes course and minigolf on site were also brilliant. They also have archery and other sports but we didn't get time to try them. Onsite restaurant was expensive and the food we had was bad so we didn't go back. If you like pizza and deep fried stuff then it's probably ok. They don't provide towels in the caravans anymore (they used to) so don't forget to bring enough for beach and showers. There's a large Morrisons supermarket about 5 mins drive away for self catering food and anything else you forget. Of course, the amazing Scarborough is also close by and well worth a visit even if it's just to go on one of the many boat trips available or for eating out."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Brand new van the best one I have been in"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"We stayed for a week at the end of August and really enjoyed our time on the site. The caravan was spacious and had everything we needed. Except for a frying pan which was sorted straight away through reception. The only downside to the site itself was the food and drink prices which are very expensive so we visited the pub just off-site which was really reasonably priced. The £30 for 5 activities is really good especially when the high ropes are £13 a go so u can go on there 5 times which is a real money saving.Overall a great break but due to the food and drink prices we will not be returning. Which is a real shame"
Tony - Nov 2023
"Excellent park with an amazing team"
Beverly - Nov 2023
"Did not use the restaurant the camp was a disaster did not get the caravan we payed for,no veranda could not park the car outside the caravan had to park on a car park and had to carry all our boxes and luggage up a path to the caravan no seat to sit on out side. Also we had no tv for two days.We got so fed up we cut our holiday short and came home three days early. Will not recommend any one our age going there with all problems and carrying everything to the caravan not happy bunnies at all."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Lovely, new and comfortable. But I fear the cleaners may not have done a good job before we moved in. Spent about 10minutes recleaning the floors so my children who love to play will not accidentally pick up something. I also feel some of the facilities may be a bit fragile so handle with care. The staff around the facility were very friendly and nice. However whoever was in charge of the text phones never responded to the questions asked according to the number given. If it was urgent, it might have been frustrating. Good thing it was not. Enjoyed my time"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Wow!! So comfortable, fantastic space for 8 of us and the veranda make morning cuppas perfect ????"
Emma - Jun 2023
"great to have a break."
GERALD - May 2023
"This was an excellent caravan with central heating, which was required in early May. The caravan was clean and tidy with all of the equipment you needed for a comfortable stay."
Steve - May 2023
"Fantastic stay with family 3rd year return"
Valerie - May 2023
"Would book again"
JAYNE - May 2023
"Very good disappointed in lack of crockery essentials. Egg cups. Toilet roll washing up stuff. No information of local area and timetable of events."
Janet - Apr 2023
"happy with accommodation met the needs of everyone and quieter area"
Lynne - Apr 2023
"We didn't use onsite restaurants due to current situation but have enjoyed in the past. Again as always cant complained at all we love coming to cayton bay and cant praise the site and staff enough. We will be back next year."
Louise - Jul 2020
"The fridge could do with being larger as we struggled to put all of our cold food in so a larger family may find it inadequate"
Wendy - Jul 2020
"Had a lovely week away and will be booking to come back numerous times next year"
Lee - Jul 2020
"Caravan lovely and clean, heating was on and made it more welcoming. Staff excellent nothing to much trouble, more than enough space in caravan "
Lee - Mar 2020
"The entertainment staff were awesome. They did the pirate pursuit despite the fact that it was only my three kids who were there. Big thanks to Matt and Mercedes for that. The activities staff were just as awesome. Particularly Tom and Neil. Tom for the sports and Neil for the high ropes and especially the Bear grylls survival academy which my son just loved every minute of. The Show bar at night was always very entertaining with Liam making every night funny without fail."
Steven - Aug 2022
"Nice place to stay. Caravan was clean and spacious"
Trevor - Jul 2022
"Lovely holiday park, we came here with our 7 children, aged 1,2,3,5,5 & 12 & 12 and there was something to keep all ages entertained. The elder ones loved the high ropes and were in the show bar every night. The indoor pool is great for all ages, especially good that they have a very shallow part for small children like we have. The only thing that would improve this holiday park would be an outside splash park!"
Danielle - Jul 2022
"The holiday was lovely, staff are very friendly and helpful, great with kids. Only downside is prices of the extra activities are steep (apart from high ropes as that is well worth the money) We never had a hoover in caravan so with 4 young kids it was a nightmare to tidy up after them, but we asked at reception and were given one so that was great. Also given a hairdryer on request as i had forgotten mine. We will definetly be back ?"
Amanda - Jul 2022
"We had the most amazing time, the caravan was very clean. The night time entertainment staff are absolutely fabulous! My 5 year old loved the kids disco/games. Everything on site is good value for money. The food is the restaurant is lovely and very reasonable."
Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"A great site with lots of facilities. Staff were very helpful. Our oven door had a problem and we called the out of hours number and it was fixed within 20mins! Highly recommended ?"
