With spectacular views and excellent facilities, Loch Ness Highland Lodges sit right on the shores of stunning Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. Inverness is just 20 miles away and it's a great base from which to explore this beautiful region - Fort Augustus and the stunning ruin of Urquhart Castle are both within easy reach.

There's plenty of walking, fishing and boating to be done - with a jetty for canoe and kayak launching, as well as an adventure playground and mountain bike hire. You could take a five mile walk along the Caledonian Canal from Fort Augustus, stopping for a picnic at Kytra Lock. It's a relatively easy walk so ideal for the whole family.

We love The Moorings, a luxurious and modern lodge with amazing views of Loch Ness. It has a spacious open plan living area with a 42" plasma TV and Freesat, a DVD player and surround sound. French doors lead out onto a decking area where you can enjoy a barbecue and a soak in your own private hot tub.

From Invermoriston, a trip to the Isle of Skye will make a wonderful day out, and the beautiful landscape of the Cairngorms National Park sets the scene for hiking, cycling and climbing.

Date of stay: 30th April 2018
Beautiful spacious lodge right on the Loch side, very peacefully located and ideal for mountain biking and walking. Fort Augustus is just a ten minute drive and is a small pretty village with a few local amenities including a petrol station and shop, a handful of cafes and is where the Caledonian canal meets Loch Ness. The site wardens were very friendly and helpful and gave us some useful information.

Had such a great time, Max greeted us very late after our 8 and half hour journey and couldnt have been more welcoming... any quieries we had were answered immediately (even down to takeaway menus).. over all staff could not have been more friendly.., Will be returning for our Anniversary.
Gary, Glenrothes
Date of stay: 16th March 2018
Stayed 4 nights in Moorings lodge number3, lodge lovely and warm on cold March evenings. Very relaxing on the banks of Loch Ness. The setting is very remote Fort Augustus is the nearest village about 6 miles south, which has a Londis shop (expensive). For supermarkets it is Inverness or Fort William, about 1 Hour away due to many sets of road works on the A82.
Only down side of the lodge was no televisions in bed rooms plus no hair driers, the television above the bath did'nt work either.
Alison, Burton On Trent
Date of stay: 5th March 2018
NO 20 was perfectly placed. The rooms are as per caravan standard, so double bed and small singles. Comfy enough, but glad it was two of us in the two bed place for the storage and you'll need to make use of putting luggage and spare clothes if you go in winter under the beds.
Lucy, Glasgow
Date of stay: 2nd March 2018
Couldnt have been more happier with our choice. Its always worrying going somewhere for the first time and we relied on reviews from other people so hopefully this review will help someone else make their choice. You wont be disappointed x
Paul, Durham
Date of stay: 19th February 2018
Stayed in this Fantastic luxury lodge on the banks of Loch Ness in February, everything you could need was provided to make a home from home, the hot tub is fabulous and immaculate, the site is ideally situated for exploring the highlands by car - we would definitely return
Kelly, Leicester
Date of stay: 16th February 2018
wow . speechless . since I have been home all I keep thinking about is the stunning views. it is breqthtaking and certainly my home for the soul

I didn't want to come home

we managed to have beautiful snow and sun in the week we was there

the hot tub on the edge of the loch Ness was heaven

and the staff came and gave us a talk through the tv and things at first which was very hands on and helpful

we went for local walks to the falls and woods and it was just sensational

we want to book on again and be back soon
Caroyln, Oldham

Date of stay: 27th October 2017
we had a great time, the cabin was up to high standards, cleanliness was excellent and the surroundings was beautiful. only downside is the supermarket being at least an hour to 2 hours away but a lovely little garage shop about 10mins away. would love to come back!

Date of stay: 16th October 2017
Absolutely amazing holiday. Wish we booked longer. Stunning accommodation and location. If there was one suggestion for improvement it would be that there was steps directly from decking to hot tub. However, this did not affect our stay too much!
Alison, Gauldry, Fife
Date of stay: 16th October 2017
Lovely caravan and resort, staff were very friendly and helpful. Hot tub and view were amazing! Only grumble was that the heating system was very noisy which kept us awake at times however didn't spoil things. Would definitely recommend.

Emma, Aberdeen
Date of stay: 4th August 2017
These lodges are a bit more expensive than some but the view is worth paying that little bit extra for. They are well equipped and the staff at the park went the extra mile and unpacked our shopping which had arrived early, they also mopped up our spilt milk and replaced the burst container.
Kim
Date of stay: 4th August 2017

Jacqueline, Glasgow
Date of stay: 14th July 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Moorings lodges! The area was so quiet and peaceful. The only bad thing is I felt that 10am was very early for checkout and we couldn't get into the lodge until 4pm so we effectively only had 3 days !
Clive, Hampshire

very comfortable (see above comments)
Claire, Livingston
Date of stay: 19th June 2017
Our lodge was lovely and modern compared with some of the other lodges we looked at in the area. There was a large decking area with a picnic table for u to sit outside when the weather was nice. Our hot tub wasn't on the decking itself it was located downstairs to the side of the lodge but was fine though (just didn't expect that). I wasn't able to make use of the hot tub as I was pregnant however my partner enjoyed it and it was easy to use. I would defo be taking full advantage if we went back.
David and Fiona who look after you are lovely. We didn't need to really ask them anything as everything was spot on with our lodge.
The lodge itself was lovely and clean and it was nice to have some essentials there too i.e towels, hand soap dispensers, black bin bags, washing up liquid and utensils (as we have been to places like this before and there was nothing at all).
Next time we go we would defo want one of the lodges which face straight onto Loch Ness and possibly one with a hot tub on the deck. However our lodge was ideal size for us (myself, partner and 2 year old son). Also the main bedroom was big enough for his travel cot to fit at the bottom of the bed which was ideal and there was also access to the bathroom from the main bedroom too which was handy (plus we had a second toilet as well separate from the main bathroom and shower). We had a great holiday and would definitely return
Joyce, East Kilbride
Date of stay: 16th June 2017
Lovely view looking over the loch, even in the hot tub.
The great glen way walk is near by.
Best of both worlds , relaxing and if you like walking plenty of them to.
Thomas, Cambridgeshire
Date of stay: 16th June 2017
The lodge is beautiful and situated on the shore line of the loch Ness with views of the mountains in front and miles of scenery either side seen from the deck and hot tub. Spacious and well equipt with everything we needed for the perfect holiday.

Michael, Cheadle Hulme
Date of stay: 17th April 2017
We were disappointed that the brochure shows the accomodation we chose on the lake but we behind a different set of lodges so not on the lake. The childrens area is to small and the site could benefit from some kind of eatery or shop as we had to go to Fort Augustus eack time we needed anything
B, Fife
Date of stay: 14th April 2017
Lodge was lovely and clean, in an amazing and beautiful setting. I did feel that the lodge we had didn't take advantage of the views as only a few small windows looked out over the Loch and 2 of them were in the bedrooms. Weather wasn't good so couldn't take advantage of the outdoor seating which would have been lovely. We would definitely love to visit again in the hope of better weather.
Amy, Innerleithen
Date of stay: 27th March 2017
Good sized lodge, inside of kitchen cupboards and cooker not 100% clean but apart from that we couldn't fault it.
Ann, Wallasey Merseyside

We had the best week away for my husbands 30th. Scenery and view from the hot tin was absolutely stunning! Lovely modern lodge with great facilities. David and Fiona were both extremely helpful too. Would love to return.
Christopher, Manchester
Date of stay: 24th February 2017
Actually stayed in the loch view lodge due to a mistake that could happen to anyone however i am not complaining a full refund was given plus a free bottle of champange with some free days added as well for future use and whilst the loch view may have been a 'cheaper' lodge it was simply amazing and didnt bother us in the slightest same stunning views and equally as equipped (just a smaller space) the staff did all they could to accomodate us further but it truly wasnt necessary as were perfectly happy with what we got it really wasnt much of a downgrade. Definately intend to return during the summer when hopefully theres less rain ;)
Adam, Coventry
Date of stay: 24th February 2017
A few items of maintenence, scratches/scuffs on walls, cracked tiles, cracked mirrors etc being fixed would bring the review to 100%.
Lauren, Dumfries
Date of stay: 17th February 2017
The location is absolutely beautiful! The view when waking up in the morning was amazing, and looks even better from the nice toasty hot tub! My only grumble is the lack of shops (we had to travel 45 minutes to Inverness for a tub of baby milk) however that is not the fault of the lodge! The staff could not do more! Welcoming and friendly from the off and always stopped for a chat! On call 24/7 for any slight problem or query. Would 100% stay again and in fact have already booked up again!
Jamie

Date of stay: 21st October 2016
Lovely lodge. Comfort of sofa was the only let down. Kitchen well equipped with everything you could ever need.
Lots of bedding and towels provided.
Gillian, Glasgow
Date of stay: 3rd October 2016
We stayed in lodge 19. Lovely inside and so clean. Seemed to be a problem with the boiler though and 2 of the mornings it didn't work. Woke up to almost Arctic conditions inside the cabin. The fire in the living room area only seemed to work at certain times too. Not great for the late autumn/early winter months. 1 point deducted for the heating problems.
Look out for the family of ducks on the Loch. They'll happily come up to you looking for food.
Stephen, North Wales
Date of stay: 30th September 2016
Lovely lodge's with hot tubs.Fantastic location and view's.It would have been nice to sit at a table on the deck to eat or drink but there was no patio furniture on the deck.We moved the dining table next to the French doors and opened them so we could eat and enjoy the view which was great.
John, Martock Somerset
Date of stay: 16th September 2016
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Places visited ranged from Cromarty in the east to Skye in the west.
The Lodges were well equipped, clean, comfortable and in a beautiful setting, we saw Nessy several times!!
The hot tub was a great way to chill out at the end of the day. The midges were kept at bay by Avon "Skin so Soft"spray, so Happy
The only downside was that the WiFi connection was poor in our lodge.
J, Derby
Date of stay: 9th September 2016

Date of stay: 12th August 2016
We stayed at the retreat lodge which was modern. It was beautifully situated on the waters edge. The lodge itself was comfortable enough for a small family and amenities are excellent.
The outdoor decking and hot tub are a great feature.
The hot tub was spacious and very well maintained.
The park itself is easy driving distance from most local site seeing attractions.
Would return to this holiday park again.
Emma, Horley
Date of stay: 1st August 2016
Lovely lodge but attacked by midges when outside!

Carol, Gosport
Date of stay: 27th June 2016
We were moved from The Retreat on the loch side to The Vision, set back, as there were problems with the boiler. As soon as we reported the problem it was resolved as stated before.

Overall the location, accommodation and helpfulness of staff was excellent and the weather behaved itself!!.

It is central to visit places such as Isle of Skye, Kyle of Lochalsh, Ullapoolwithin 2-2.5 hrs, though John O'Groats took 3 hours and the scenery wherever you went was amazing.

Would definitely stay there again.
Sherryl, Derby
Date of stay: 17th June 2016
Very modern lodge with the luxury of the hot tub, beautiful view over the loch. The best Scottish holiday we've ever had and the accommodation was wonderful for the cheap price! Definitely go back again, we are missing it already.

Date of stay: 8th April 2016
Lovely clean and new caravan. We had a hot tub next to the water which was lovely but a lot of the vision vans have their hot tubs away from the water. May be worth checking if this bothers you.
Alison
Date of stay: 8th April 2016
Lovely lodges in an amazing location overlooking the loch. Hot tub brilliant. Bit remote so be prepared to drive but don't let that put you off. There is nowhere close in Scotland.
John, Kirkcaldy
Date of stay: 28th March 2016
We stayed over a long weekend during the easter break. The location is simply stunning, beautiful views across the Loch. The cabins are very well catered for with all the comforts you need while on holiday. The hot tub is a good size, can fit 4 adults comfortably. The on-site team are very friendly & helpful, always on hand if you need them. Fort Augustus is a short drive down the road if you need supplies or its a longer drive to Fort William or Inverness...Basically - stock up before you arrive.

Tip - Ask for a Loch side cabin prior to arriving. Glen side cabins only offer partial views of the Loch.

Tip - If you go though the summer months I'd take a scented candle to repel the midges.

Only downside was there was no free WiFi as advertised on the website, you need to by a card pass to access it.

All in all a fantastic break and we look forward to going back in the near future
John, Falkirk

Date of stay: 30th October 2015
On arrival we were informed of mice in the lodge. There were mouse droppings in the cupboard under the sink. Although the place was gorgeous and the lodge was lovely, this was particularly off-putting when considering cooking using utensils and pans.
D, Chippenham

A nice comfortable lodge ,but was let down by the lack of of equipment in the kitchen.
eg. no teapot, milk jug, toast rack, only 4 place mats and 2 coasters and a minimum amount of crockery and glasses. A bedside lamp in the twin room would be a good idea. Apart from that an enjoyable time was had by all.

We have now stayed in a Loch View lodge on two occasions. The lodges were both light, contemporary, clean and comfortable throughout, with everything we needed to cook during our stay (take your own cafetiere though). The lounge area is glass fronted with double doors facing out onto the Loch. Out on the decking, each lodge has its own table and chairs. The hot tub really helped to make our time feel special, whether it was at the end of the day, or at night after the stars had come out (and the midges had gone to sleep!). All in all, a lovely place to stay.

Nice comfortable lodge. if we had any complaint to make, it would have been that there was no privacy around the hot tub, all the others had.

The only 2 faults in the lodge were the massage jets on the shower were not working and the the tv in that bathroom wasn't working. Everything else was spot on. We only found out about the tv after asking a member of staff for a remote. Was a bit daft because there must have been about 14 lodges and only 2 were occupied for the week we stayed and yet we still get put in one were things didn't work!

Perfect location for a quiet holiday but no facilities available on site during our stay as restaurant and bar was closed, be prepared for a 1 hours drive in either direction to Fort William or Inverness as only one road in and out of location.

The Moorings, was well equipped with everything that we needed and more. The only thing missing was a dishwasher and somewhere to dry clothes. But as we ate out most of the time, the dishwasher really wasn't an issue for us.
The Lodge was immaculate and furnished to a good standard.

Landmark Theme Park is a popular family attraction in Scotland and is a great choice for those with children of varied ages. The site is packed with attractions to keep the whole family amused. Landmark is rather unique as a theme park as it is based around nature. Activities include Tree Topping and Rock climbing although there are also some more traditional theme park rides such as a log flume. The park is abundant with nature including Red Squirrels and Clydesdale Horses and there is also a new Pinewood Grill for tasty snacks and a Gift Shop.
