If you love the peace and quiet of the countryside, you'll love New Forest Lodges. Secluded, peaceful and tranquil, you have woodlands, heathlands and the coastline of the New Forest all within easy reach. The area is perfect for horse riding and walking and the lodges are close to the little market town of Ringwood. You can try your hand at kite and windsurfing in Weymouth Bay and Poole Harbour - or treat yourself to a truly memorable Indian meal at the Hox Brasserie in Salisbury.

There are great cycle routes in the area and bike hire is available. The lodges overlook a series of beautiful lakes so this holiday really does offer the best of both worlds - a haven away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and yet only a short drive from Bournemouth and Poole. If you've always wanted to attempt a skydive, you could head for Click Jump Skydiving in Salisbury - their team of experienced skydivers will train you and calm your nerves!

The Dorchester Lodge was brand new in 2011. We think you'll agree that it's beautiful with its contemporary interior design, wood burning stove and fantastic views across the lakes. The outdoor hot tub is on the private verandah which also has garden furniture and a barbecue - the lodge sleeps six and is fully double glazed and centrally heated.

Dorset has an amazing coastline - the Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage site, well known for its dinosaur fossils and footprints. There is a huge trail of coastal paths with stunning views across the cliffs and the ocean. Animal lovers will enjoy Monkey World and the underwater dive cage at the Oceanarium at Bournemouth and if you love shopping, The Avenue Shopping Centre, also in Bournemouth, has all the top high street stores.

Our Top Tip
"Adventure Wonderland in Bournemouth is well worth a visit. Outdoor adventure rides and fun and games await you based on the classic Alice in Wonderland story. And it's all within easy reach - just 10 miles from the lodges."

Well worth the money and the lodges are situated in a lovely, charming park managed by the family.

Hot tub and bbq were both fantastic additions. Travelled with a 2 month old baby and it was the perfect place to take her for her first holiday

If there is anything to mention that could be improved, its this:
Garden fencing has been erected to provide the necessary privacy. Unfortunately, one fence section has fallen down; it would be good if that section could be repaired, as it does impact on the feeling of privacy somewhat.
The lodge comes with electrically opening/closing Velux roof windows, operated via remote control. Not all of these were working properly on this occasion.
One or two ceiling lights were also out of order.
That said, all of the abovementioned issues are very minor and did in no way impact on our overall enjoyment.

This holiday was lovely, the cabins are owned by a farmer who had a lot of land including some lakes which you can fish in, they breed their own cows and pigs which we were lucky enough to see - 2 day old piglets! The cabin itself was very welcoming with homemade bread and a lovely cake, milk and eggs from the farm an added bonus. The cabin was nicely decorated and all rooms have a small tv - not that we used them we were too busy using the log fire and the hot tub! We did have a little visitor in one of our bedroom windows - a little bird that would tap on the window in the morning to say hello! Only one thing which might put some people off is the gravel drive leading to the cabins is very bumpy and may not be ideal for low or sporty cars, overall great holiday and would highly recommend!

Great lodge, staff, facilities, hot tub and loved the fact it was on a farm.

We paid a premium as we were visiting during the Easter holidays. Had we not have to pay that then we would have felt it was a better value for money.

As scores reflect, 6 adults & 3 dogs in a lodge! Plenty of room, facilities great & none of us wanted to leave.

The fact we keep on coming back for more R&R really says it all... The first time we stayed at NF Lodges was when they had only just opened; back then there were only 4 lodges. We ended up booking 3 or 4 times in the following 2-3 years. Now, after having returned following a ca. 5 year absence, the lodges have more than doubled in number, but we are extremely pleased to say the bigger scale has not ruined the 'hidden treasure' experience that we have always found so attractive. Furthermore, the impeccable and friendly service by the owners is still prevalent. In summary: Cannot fault NF Lodges. All I need now is another excuse to make my next booking...
Paul
The lodge was beautiful, log burner ready to go on arrival and fresh bread and cake welcomes, the surrounding ponds make it look stunning. My only downfall was the condition of the farm road leading to the lodges, the massive unavoidable potholes unfortunatly cost me damage to the equivalent value of the lodge. That being said. I would still recommend the lodge and am hoping to book again soon.
Colleen
Such an amazing and tranquil place to stay. If you’re wanting adventure on your door step that’s not walking, then this isn’t the place to go. Myself and my other half had a fantastic time and only went out to walk our two pups. The total switch off and no WiFi or signal was fantastic
Ian
Beautiful lodges with everything you need for a wonderful break. The jacuzzi was great in the evenings. The owners are lvely people. The farm is quite remote but ony a few miles drive to the delights of Wimborne and the beautiful countryside of Dorset is on your door step. Lovely fishing lakes. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be going back.
Laura
Such a lovely find. The accommodation was perfect with everything you could ever need. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked with all sorts of stuff. I wasnt aware before arriving there was a farm shop on site, has we known we wouldn't have bothered with the supermarket shop prior to arrival. Despite that we purchased a few bits and the meat was beautiful. Staff were super friendly and were even to take our son around the farm to show him the animals which he loved. Hot tub was a fabulous addition to the lodge, just wish the sun had been shining and that we could have stayed longer. Big fat recommendation from us!

We had a fantastic week away, the lodge was so tranquil and peaceful. We took the dog for walks everyday and many hours were spent in the hot tub enjoying the surroundings and family time together.

Lovely holiday. Would say car is essential. Dog very happy. Tub private.

We had a really lovely break at New Forest Lodges. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. The location is good - very scenic and rural, on a working farm with a small shop. However you need to be aware that there is nothing within easy walking distance. You can walk to the village of Cranborne but it takes at least 30 minutes and you need to go cross country as the main road is quite busy. It's an easy drive, though, and Verwood is also quite close by which has all amenities you would need - supermarket, takeaways, restaurants etc. The lodges are beautifully presented and spaced out well so that each one feels private. Pets are made very welcome.
