Woodside Coastal Retreat Reviews

"The restaurant had been closed down after we booked our holidayThe bar was closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday The path between the 2 sites has not been kept up and needs a complete overhaul, in places can be very muddy, and the logs for the path have disappeared Overheard staff complain about speaking to a customer and they were doing them a favour calling them before their holiday"

"Amazing lodge we will be back"
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"Lodge is tired and really showing its age. Walls are marked and in need of paint, the floor in ours was really uneven under the lino and generally smelt grubby.Like most of the Darwin Escape properties, theyre great when new, but very little investment in keeping them feel nice. The lodge was however clean, but zero premium feel like there used to be. Impossible to get stuff dry in a hot tub lodge, no towels for use in the hot tub and the once included robes are now £5/each. No qualms, just adds to the all round feel that these arent what they were. The access road is rough with potholes and breaking up - clearly not intended for the volume of traffic if gets. Staff are helpful, grafters and very friendly.Would I go back? No."

"Absolutely loved the views over the solent..Nature,trees..Hot tub..Nature walk to receptionThe lodges are all lovely..sea views can be seen by most lodges..Missed not having robes, and samples of toiletries, duck, little suitcase holding key and suggestions of places to visit ..And there weren't so many little things to start off the holiday, that Hoseasons used to provide..not such crockery..But all still great for us...Our special retreat.."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"We have been coming to Woodside Coastal lodges for a number of years now.We love the trees, bing near the sea,and the nature trail leading to reception..In past years there has been more items in the lodge..for example robes, more crockery, toiletries samples..ducks,little suitcase to hold information on places to visit, and a few useful items ..It's a relaxing place to go to for a few days..a retreat.."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Woodside Coastal lodges are older than Woodside Bay,but We love the Carisbrook Premier Lodges in Woodside Coastal side....they are 6 berth..Third rooms beds are narrow, good for children, but thinner adults can sleep in them,as long as they are expecting that the beds in there are narrower..not that bad, after all for the holiday....we have stayed in quite a few lodges at Woodside Coastal..and lots of times also...Which ever lodge you have, they all have a bit of a sea view, and trees around..and inside the lodges they are lovely to relax in with friends and family..All look fresh and bright...any problems would be soon sorted out by Woodside staff..we thought our key didn't work, but just a phone call away we found you have to take the key out side ways! The kitchens all have dishwashers, and washer dryers, fridge freezers ect..all you need to add comfort to your few days away..Always sad on the last day to leave...But hopefully everyone leaves refreshed from a lovely retreat.."
Shangrila insight.. - Mar 2024
"Beautiful location 10 minutes from the ferry port. The lodges are spacious and modern with a king size comfortable bed with en suite bathroom. We opted for a lodge with a sunken hot tub on the decking."
Tracie - Mar 2024
"I love this lodge and it's location. The view is amazing over the solent. The lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed as a family of 3 with a toddler."
Emma - Mar 2024
"NEED MORE LIGHTS ON PATHWAYS!!!!Its so dark that we fell over quite a bit walking to and from the car. Lovely lodge beds probably could do with an up grade. Views are amazing! Staff were very friendly and helpful but were a bit sharp on the phone when I left the key in the lodge just after we had left. A receptionist called me 10:25 and asked why I hadnt left the key in the box! Was quite upset. A simple phone call to housekeeping would have given her all the information needed. And possibly a reminder that we are customers and NOT fellow staff members."
Donna - Mar 2024
"Excellent visit & lots to see. Very interesting"
Steven - Mar 2024
"The lodge was clean and tidy, it had lovely soft towels, heating on keeping it nice and warm for our winter visit, lots of hot water and everything we needed provided."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Location of our lodge and facilities within were just perfect, we have a dog so thought might be a bit scruffy, but over all (apart from the sofa and dining table) the facilities were perfect condition"
Nikki Everson - Mar 2024
"All good apart from some contractors using the site as accomadation and being noisy on way to work in the morning."

"The restaurant was not open when we were on holiday so we used the take away service . The view from our lodge was amazing. The lodge was spacious and clean, only had 2 large saucepans and the duvets were too thick for July they are my minor complaints.Totally enjoyed my holiday at Woodside Bay Lodge Retreat would highly recommend"

"We felt it was nice quiet location with good views. It was private to when you were in your hot tub/on the balcony too."
Karen - Aug 2020
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only feedback we have are the following:
1. There should be more towels provided per person for the week.
2. There should be a floor towel provided for the bathrooms.
3. Shelving in the shower would be useful in order to store shampoo/shower gels etc.
4. One of the bedroom doors at our lodge was missing hooks."
Sarah - Aug 2020
"All perfect! Next time I will book in advance, as the last minute 2 nights deal was too expensive."
Manuela - Aug 2020
"The location of the park and the overall quality of accommodation is excellent. The main issue is around cleaning. Upon arrival there were a number of areas that hadnt been cleaned properly (crumbs on the floor etc). We had to check in later for a more in depth Covid clean but couldnt really see the evidence. To be fair I phoned reception and a very helpful guy came and sorted within 30 mins. Main issue is the longer term stains and dirt - black mould in shower that a bit of bleach would fix etc. After first day couldnt get hold of anyone to discuss an issue. Overall great potential but extra attention to detail would take this from a 6/10 to 10/10."
Elliot - Aug 2020
"Loved the site. Beautiful location. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and clean lodge. Wonderful views."
Joel - Aug 2022

Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"We booked just a few weeks before we went on holiday here and the price was very good. Excellent location, beautiful views, very friendly and helpful reception staff. We didn’t get chance to use the restaurant but the bar and staff are great."
Deborah - Jul 2022
"Lovely relaxing place to stay. Very close to the beach and very quiet"
Lee - Jul 2022
"Lovely side sea view lodge (No 33) and peacefully quiet! Overall would definitely recommend these lodges in this location."
