"Hope to have a return visit had a great time"
Mark - Feb 2020
"On arrival we were greeted by Caroline, who gave us a quick tour. The cottage was very warm and cosy, with underfloor heating. We each had a dressing gown and slippers, perfect for going to and fro the hot tub. The hot tub was ready to use when we arrived, which was perfect after our journey.
Larkshayes cottages are a little touch of heaven."
Verified Guest - Jan 2020
"100% everything was perfect. Highly recommened. Would not hesitate to book again.
Only thing that would help is better directions i.e. a map or OS grid reference, rather than the written directions as they assume you are coming in from one direction only."
Gillian - Oct 2019
"Highly recommended for a quiet weekend away. Perfect location to relax"
David - Oct 2019
"On arrival we were greeted by Caroline and first impressions were great. We stayed in otter cottage and the cottage was clean and tidy. The owners have thought of everything, the kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher and washing machine which were a god send and there was a bottle of prosecco in the fridge which was a lovely surprise. The cottage has 2 smart TVs with access to Netflix etc which was very handy as it rained a lot during our stay so was nice to be able to catch up on some box sets in our free time. Hot tub was great and very big compared to others places we have stayed. The only thing that would of been handy is an ironing board in the lodge but in the welcome book it states that there is one available on request. The cottage is kind of in the middle of no where which on one hand was nice but took a while to get anywhere as there is only country lanes and a lot of them are very tight so be careful and you definitely need a sat nav for getting around. Most of the beaches we visited were pebble. Exeter 30-40 mins away and a nice day out.
Our only criticism and this does not reflect on the owners or the cottage as it is in the hands of nature but whilst we stayed there was what can only be described as an infestation of Crane flies/daddy long legs!! It felt like it was part of the biblical 10 plagues of Egypt! It must of been breeding season for them and giving note to the fact that we were staying on a working farm there is not a lot we could do and accepted it for what it was but we were unable to keep the windows and doors open which lead to a lot of stuffiness inside and they were attracted to the hot tub when we were using it which was annoying. However, as mentioned this has no reflection on the owners or lodge.
Overall a lovely stay and nice break away!"
