Golden Sands Brean Reviews

"Great lodge with private hot tub and views. Short walk to beach as set just behind the beach with views of the sea and Island.Everything a family would need to spend time in the lodge. Only down fall sofa and chairs low backed no support for shoulders and neck as you need to look up to watch TV which with the bright open windows catches the sun reflection due yo top of windows having no blinds."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"The lodge was fantastic for 7 of us nice and clean I will say though there wasnt much room to put our food shopping in a cupboard unless we moved things around but that didnt upset us the whole holiday was lovely we will be booking again next year The service was brilliant as there was a problem with the washing machine we reported it and they came straight out and fixed it so we could use it Would definitely recommend this lodge"
Tracie - Nov 2023
"Had six bed lodge but disappointed we only has one bathroom, small outside table with only four chairs. Lack of instructions on how to use amenities, oven, washing machine etc. small items like oven gloves etc would have been helpful. We were not advised Reception was 2 miles away and had no info when we arrived."
Keith - Nov 2023
"Me and my kids absolutely loved where we stayed, was nice and quiet. Had the beach right on our door step,The staff was very quick to hand to fix the window for me too. Everything is so close by, 10mins drives or 5min walk down the roadWill be booking again next year."
Kila - Nov 2023
"Had to get rid of a foul smell of urine/ammonia near the bedroom on arrival, it took days of cleaning and spraying to eventually eradicate it but the site staff were helpful.Excellent location near the beach.Plenty of pubs to visit even with our dog."

"Disappointed"
Abby - Jul 2023
"The lodge was very tired, a little grubby in places through wear and tear. The decking by the kitchen door creaked and groaned quite severely as it got hotter during the day. The kitchen wasnt particularly well equipped, and the welcome pack we were promised, turned out to be a tiny bottle of washing up liquid, a sponge, a duster, dishwasher and washing machine tablets and a couple of plastic bags. Just what I want on my holiday! The basin pop-up plug in the shower room was reported as faulty but not fixed whilst we were there."
Dorothy - Jun 2023
"Lovely quite site near shops , the beach , great places to go by car , lovely walks accoss beach ."
Nicola - May 2023
"Second time staying here and will be back again"
Nicola - Aug 2019
"A small quiet site very close to the beach and within walking distance of other amenities. Excellent accommodation with friendly staff. Safe, enclosed area for my dog and car parking right outside the door."
Helen - Aug 2019
"Really well kitted out accomodation with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Extra towels, bathrobes and bed linen. Great utility area for bikes and wet clothes. Loads of places to sit, play or watch telly. The garden was fab, as was the barbeque. The hot tub was very big and warm. Wonderful in every way xxx"
Jennifer - Aug 2019
"The lodge itself was extremely nice. We'd never go back to a 'normal caravan' again, having experienced this. That sounds snobby (maybe it is) but when you're on holiday, you want to be comfortable in the place you're living in and this lodge was a perfect match."
Andy - Aug 2019
"Very nice and, for July, not a bad price but more than I would normally pay. Great location for families with lots going on locally to keep kids amused. Beach is lovely but not great for swimming as the tide goes out a long way and the nice men on the beach shout at you when the tide is out because of the soft sand and mud."
Sue - Jul 2019
"Would strongly recommend .."
Dianna - Jul 2019
"A surprisingly lovely little static caravan that comfortably slept 4 and easily 6 if you are happy to rearrange the bed in the lounge each day. Great access to the beach, and very friendly staff who met us on the day of check in to ensure all was ok"
Caroline - Nov 2018
"A great time and a great place you won't be disapointed "
Julie - Aug 2018
"Thank you we have made some lovely memories here hopefully we will be back x"
Danielle - Aug 2018
"Needed a quiet and peaceful break and was not disappointed.very nice lodge and surroundings"
Phyllis - Jul 2018
"Please sort the WiFi issues out this is now making me unsure in whether to book for the fourth year"
Leigh - Jun 2018
"Unable to sit outside the caravan no table & chairs"
Helena - May 2018
"See value for money comments.

I think the park relies too much on the offsite facilities and beach. More investment into updating the main site facilities is needed or better discounts to the local facilities perhaps."
Alan - Aug 2017
"Very relaxing just what we needed"
Trudy - Aug 2017
"We stayed on the sister site (golden sands) to the main site unity Brean park. The sister site was a 5 minutes walk from the central hub that housed the amusement area, entertainment area and food outlets. An additional 5 min walk took you to the main site which was much much bigger by comparison.
Golden sands was much quieter which suited us. A pathway provided access to the beach. Our rating is for the combined experience and not just golden sands which had no facilities. The accommodation was excellent and had everything that was needed."
Allan - Aug 2017
"Caravan was spotless and had everything we needed for a weekend away"
Simon - Jul 2017
"Have used ho seasons sevaral times and never had a problem but this lodge was not value for money"
Anthony - Jul 2017
"Very good will come again."
Tracey - Jul 2017
"Please see above in regards to WiFi and internet access.
What would be very helpful is guide notes on how to use the washing machine and heating system.
I gave up on trying to getting the heating on and struggled with sussing out how to use the combined washer/dryer.
Cliff and Shirley ensured that the lodge was perfectly spotless upon arrival, it was a pain for me as I came on public transport so had to go to Unity first with a very large case luckily they offered to collect me after booking in so that I didn't have to wait for another bus and struggle further. Exceptional service.
Golden Sands was a perfect setting and lovely and quiet after the atmospheric Brean Play, Splash and Fairground where I spent a great deal of time entertaining my young nephew (which was a godsend). Thank you"
Leigh - Jun 2017
"Hot tube too small for 4 people"
Jane - Apr 2017
"Mostly covered in my comments above . The Beach bungalow was our holiday the Golden Sands our setting."
Amanda - Apr 2017
"A bit pricey but lovely views"
Shabina - Apr 2017
"Lovely place. Nice quiet and peaceful! Leads directly onto the beach. Caravan lovely modern and clean! Overall had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend and would return again. Only gave an 8 for helpfulness of staff because I didn’t actually ask or see them for anything, but I’m pretty sure if I had needed to they would of sorted it."
Danielle - Jul 2022
"Really enjoyed the resort and other tourist attractions were very close to the area as well. The only thing was the caravan was smaller than I realised and it smelled like dog and there was animal fur on the sofas. I understand we booked a pet friendly caravan but you expect it to be cleaned more thoroughly if pets have stayed in there as we didn't take pets ourselves. Would stoll visit again though."
Shawny - Jul 2022
"Perfect holiday for our grandchildren. Well placed site close to all amenities and easy road free access to the beach"
Michael - Jul 2022
"Lovely peaceful place, very clean caravan and friendly staff, my only complaint is the double bed needs a new mattress as it is very lumpy but had a comfortable sofa bed and single beds are very comfortable"
Mandy - Jul 2022
"Well equipped caravan with enough room to not feel on top of each other. Good shower, comfy beds. Quiet park but use of Unity facilities with club house and laundry approx 5-10 minutes walk."
Donna - Jul 2022
"Very nice caravan park got more holidays booked with u & gona continue 2 use u as very nice caravans & really appericate the complimentarys dont get that very often this day in age. Keep it up guys."
