Hawkchurch Resort And Spa

South Devon » Axminster

If you're looking for a blissful retreat, with indulgent spa treatments and a hydrotherapy pool on your doorstep, then Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is for you. The stylish accommodation is set within a haven of natural beauty on the Dorset/Devon border and boasts fabulous views over the Axe Valley. Just a short drive from Axminster and Lyme Regis, this is the place to relax and recharge.

The Ezina Spa has three treatment rooms as well as a gym, relaxation room, sauna and Hammam style steam room. You can take your pick from fitness classes, yoga and Pilates and when you've finished being pampered, enjoy a deliciously healthy dinner in the Bistro style restaurant which also has a luxurious bar and sun terrace.

We love the Austen Premier, a contemporary and spacious lodge with a large decking area, where you can relax in your private hot tub after a luxurious spa day.

It has two king sized ensuite double bedrooms and two twin rooms as well as a spacious family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The lounge and kitchen is open plan and beautifully designed.

Lyme Regis is nestled around the mouth of the River Lim, and sits between the Undercliff National Nature Reserve and the stunning Blue Lias cliffs. The town has a wealth of independent shops selling gifts, clothes and jewellery. It also boasts a number of beaches and some lovely walks along the River Lym.

Date of stay: 12th July 2019
Brilliant time the only suggestions we would make are
) provide lockable storage for rods
Make the lake from the lodges more accessible we had difficulties getting the fishing barrow across the stream and up the hill
But still had a fantastic stay

Overall we were very pleased with our log cabin, not to many just enough for a peaceful stay. Hot tub was clean and well maintained by the staff. Lovely surroundings if you want to go for a walk ( would advise walking to the next village and back through the public footpath through the fields).

Fantastic lodge, great value for money and located in a beautiful part of the country. The lodges were extremely private, quiet and clean. We didn't meet any staff on arrival but the key was ready and waiting for us. It's a great location to go on some country walks with plenty of country pubs surrounding. I would highly recommend The Five Bells Inn for sunday lunch!

Date of stay: 27th December 2016
Generally we were very happy with the location and standard of accommodation, our only comment would be about the poor standard of of the taps in the bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen and that some electrical points needed updating. In fairness we discussed these matters with the Staff and was told that the standard of all chalets was currently being improved and all these items will shortly be updated.

Amazing more than we expected
This was our third visit in 6 months. Absolutely love it there and can’t wait to go back again. We’ve stayed in Foxey and Woodpecker lodges and they are both fantastic. Staff are friendly and helpful and the fishing is great too.
Loved it! The otter mill lodge was just perfect! A wooden home from home! There was not one thing wrong with our stay and we will definitely be returning!
Beautiful place. Very quiet and relaxing and very good value for money.
We had a fantastic few days away at the lakes what a beautiful place. So quiet and peaceful and away from everything. The lodges are lovely spacious, have everything you could need and south facing so catch every bit of sun. The hot tub was an added bonus and we would definitely go back.
Was an amazing holiday, enjoyed the fishing lakes and the owners were very politie and helpful! Not a lot round but didn’t need it with using fishing lakes all day! Would go back!
Excellent holiday beautiful location
Great place but we did get it very cheap. Rooms/lamps etc a little bit dusty so wouldn’t have been overly pleased with cleanliness if we had paid what others are seeming to have paid
Fab stay at Goodiford Mill. Lodge equipped with everything needed.. One thing was that they didnt have any handwash in the bathroom. We would definately stay again and I would recommend it. Local pub close by and just down the road (by car) from a little town with food options and a tesco.
We stayed in Badger lodge, It was clean, cosy and comfortable. My husband spent time fishing whilst the kids and myself spent time relaxing and making use of the hot tub. It is a beautiful relaxing setting. We would love to go back one day, we had a fab weekend.
We stayed February half term and had a wonderful time. The lodge was clean, warm, spacious and was well equipped. The hot tub was wonderful and we used it every morning and evening. There are two country pubs close by, one you could walk to the other you would need to take the car but its three minutes up the road.
