Rudyard Lake Lodges Reviews

We took our kids here for a week while they were off school as it is quite close to Alton towers and we have been meaning to go there for ages. Alton Towers was a big hit with our children but was very busy and we had to wait ages for some of the big rides. The lodges were great and felt a million miles from the madness of the theme parks. Our two bedroom lodge was quite big and the kitchen was fab, it had everything i needed to cook us basic meals.

Had a great stay here. Very well stocked and comfortable lodge in peaceful location just up from Rudyard Lake near to the Peak District and Staffordshire Moors. Perfect for walks from the door and a great place to relax and get away from it all. Conveniently located near to Rudyard Hotel, and a short drive from Leek, Macclesfield, Buxton and Bakewell. Lovely owners who were very welcoming and helpful.

Master bed could do with updating as it was a bit saggy and sheets appeared quite old.

Heronsview is very well maintained with beautiful furnishings. It was very clean and the hot tub is checked daily. I could quite happily live here. Only downside is no WIFI add that and it would be perfect.

We had a fantastic time at Meadowview in May. The owner called us on the day of arrival to give additional directions and then greeted us when we arrived at the lodge.

The lodge is clean and tidy with a homely feel. The owners of this particular lodge are lovely and add many little touches (welcome card, chocolates by the beds and small bottles of wine on arrival) which in our opinion really make a difference.

This is a pet friendly lodge with the advantage of an enclosed private garden.

We will definitely be returning for another stay.

We come every year and will continue to do so. I would love to live here.
A wonderful lodge, fairly modern interior and always warm and cosy. The hot tub is easy to use and under shelter so can be used when it’s raining. Can’t fault anything, wonderful place to stay.
A very relaxing break away, stunning surroundings, the hot tub was lovely! Perfect all round
What a fab place to stay. Lovely welcoming touches and what could be better than sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars after a long walk?!
We had a lovely relaxed break and will be back. Many thanks.
We had an amazing time, didn’t want to leave, can’t wait to return
Fantastic lodge in a beautiful location.
Very well stocked and comfortable lodge in peaceful location just up from Rudyard Lake near to the Peak District and Staffordshire Moors. Perfect for walks from the door and a great place to relax and get away from it all.
Beautiful lodge, very well looked after by the owners. Extra little touches and very clean. More spacious than I expected and the 2 shower rooms was a bonus(I thought there would only be 1). Fully equipped and great enclosed garden for our furry family members. Great separate space at the back for the kids to play. We visited Alton Towers and legoland in Manchester during our stay. Went a boat trip on the lake which was lovely and went on the small steam train. The lodge is not secluded, but you wouldn’t know it! It still felt secluded and quiet. Lovely walks nearby. The hot tub was amazing. Even in mid October the lodge was very hot, without any heating on or the log fire on!The owners stay next door and so were on hand if anything was needed and easy to contact, not that we needed anything! The kids loved it and I would definitely return. I’ll be recommending the lodge to all of our family and friends. Wonderful holiday.
Brilliant, the lodge was bigger than expected, very well equipped and clean. The little gifts that were waiting for us was a lovely surprise, the wildlife was fab, so peaceful and quiet and the hot tub was just wonderful, we will definitely be booking again.
Myself and 3 friends enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Woodlands View. On arriving all the little touches from the owners made us feel really welcome. We loved the hot tub and really appreciated it being checked every day while we explored the local area. We will definitely be happy back!

Fun Days Out near Rudyard Lake Lodges

Alton Towers - about 11 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Gullivers Kingdom - about 21 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
