Hunters Quay is an action packed holiday spot for families and couples alike! The setting is beautiful; it’s next to the Holy Loch and the Firth of Clyde, and surrounded by glens where you’ll find an array of walking trails and wildlife. There’s loads for the kids to get involved with – from archery to WaterWalkerz – and with the wonderful Scottish lochs within easy reach, the whole family is going to be spoilt for choice.

There are simply too many superb facilities at Hunters Quay to list! With two indoor heated swimming pools, you can go snorkelling and try your hand at sea scooters and raft building. The park has an indoor and outdoor children’s play area and a games room - as well as badminton, archery, crossbows, fencing, Body Zorbs, Aeroball and Pana Soccer. There is also a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi for the adults – and a host of other activities to keep you busy.

We love the Oak Premier Lodge 6 which is brand new for 2012 and sleeps up to six people. It has been fully interior designed and represents the height of luxury with magnificent views over the Loch Lomond National Park. The lodge has a verandah and outdoor barbecue area with its own private hot tub, a spacious living area and a flat screen TV in all three bedrooms.

Argyllshire and Islands is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where majestic landscapes, spectacular coastal scenery and lochside villages abound. Visitors to the area will love the superb walks and cycle paths. You could relive 500 years of turbulent Viking history at Vikingar in Largs – or head to Fins Seafood Restaurant in Fairlie for some delicious oysters, scallops and home-smoked salmon!

Our Top Tip
"The David Marshall Visitor Centre in Aberfoyle is a great place to go for guided walks, talks and seasonal activities."

Nice location and site.Good chalets. Was disappointed to find all the activities cost extra and also extortionate cost of electic supply extra as well. Would be great and more popular if there were no hidden costs.

Had a great time despite the wet and cold weather in February. Watched two porpoises on the ferry - right in front of the ferry -crossing to Dunoon, startled two deer in Benmore Gardens nor far from Hunters Quay, and two red squirrels. Also saw red squirrel in Hunters Quay grounds on way out.

The Jura caravan we stayed in was spotlessly clean and was lovely and warm due to the central heating system. We also had a lovely view and the location of the caravan was literally a 3 minute walk from the reception area

Superb stay over Xmas break! Enjoyed every moment. Had a few hiccups with the heating and hot water but everyone was really helpful and it was fixed as soon as they could manage it. In the meantime everything possible was done to keep us comfy. Even offered us a free meal for the five of us....which was delicious! Plenty to keep the kids entertained, great location...spectacular views! Had a few lively drives around the loch. Couldn't recommend more! Thank you for a lovely Xmas holiday!

Fun Days Out in Argyll

M&D's, Scotland's Family Theme Park is a "must do" day out if you are in the Strathclyde region. The fun attraction is set within 20 acres of beautiful Country Park and offers rides, shows and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Besides the outdoor rides the site is also home to Amazonia - Scotland's only indoor Tropical Rainforest where visitors can meet loads of exotic animals. There is also a large indoor soft play area and an amazing glow in the dark bowling alley, so plenty to do if the weather is bad. During December Scotland's largest Grotto with animated Christmas scenes can also be enjoyed.
The Castle of Mey Animal Centre - offers a fun experience for children and adults alike. The centre aims to be educational too, teaching children about the natural habitats of rare animals and offering supervised hands on contact with some of the more friendly residents. Among the animals visitors will meet are unusual and rare Sheep breeds, docile Donkeys, agile Alpine Goats, adorable Lambs and an incubator with Baby Chicks. The Tea Room has an excellent reputation locally and serves very tasty salads, sandwiches and home cooked meals.
The perfect place to visit on a rainy day this large Sealife Centre is currently offering 2 tickets for £15.00 when you book online. Top attractions include the amazing shark tunnel, the rock pools and the otter enclosure. This year Loch Lomond Sealife Centre is also home to Cammy - the only Giant Sea Turtle in Scotland! The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
