Finlake Resort and Spa Reviews

"Comfy and very clean. All you needed for a break away.Beds very comfy and loved the location of the lodge. Quiet and beautiful surroundings."
Amanda - Oct 2025
"Very well equipped and very comfortable"
Kevin - Sep 2025
"What we loved: A beautiful lodge nestled in the trees, which was clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed our afternoon at the spa and the staff were kind enough to bring out prosecco in flutes for my sister's special occasion. A beautiful walk to the lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent facilities for dogs. Constructive feedback: Please could you improve the selection of vegetarian and gluten-free food at the cafe? - I could only have the cheesy chips! The hot tub at our lodge was nice and hot (and someone did come and check on it) but the jets were weak and the lights did not work. Finally, I understand that the interior of the lodges varies a lot because they are all privately owned; this meant that the photos on the website do not necessarily indicate what sort of layout/furniture/TV you will get (i.e. our TV was not smart so we couldn't access Netflix). I think, when you are paying so much money, you should be able to see exactly what you are getting (i.e. like on Airbnb). It shouldn't feel like a lottery! The sofas were very tired and not good for my mum's back. Overall though, a special family holiday and I would go back!"
Kristina - Sep 2025
"Overall a lovely lodge. It could do with having its fridge/freezer, washing machine and cooker deepcleaned or upgraded. The frying pan specifically was very tired. The spa and sauna were great. Towels, bedding and so on were good."
Tina - Sep 2025
"Our Finlake Resort and Spa review: Lodge very very poor qualityMattress was bigger than base of bed, hence poor sleep all week !!Ripped bedding Carpets filthy all throughout"
Elaine - Sep 2025
"Lodge needs some TLC , door handles being held on by 1 screw, toilet flush loose, bathroom door unable to lock, sofa arm broken, plant decoration broken . Could be amazing with some care and attention."
Luke - Sep 2025
"Fantastic holiday, 1st time here, really impressed with the lodge, we stayed in a comfort plus lodge. Would get one with a hot tub next time. Had everything in there, plus puzzles and book for rainy days. Good location as was very peaceful but not far away to beach for day trips. Pool was good had everything for all ages. Would go back again"
Jacob - Aug 2025
"The lodge itself: - Woodland View 28In a good location without passing traffic and not far from the central activities and well stocked. However the lodge was not the nicest we have stayed in and is in real need of some TLC so would advise not to stay in this lodge:- Outside area overgrown and not well maintained.- Outdoor furniture worn and broken and not very comfortable.- Outdoor umbrella was faulty so had to remain open throughout which wasnt ideal in an already small and shady decking area. Maintenance couldnt fix. - Hot tub cover was old and probably saturated with water as has become so heavy that it is impossible to lift and replace for one person. - Windows were all filthy and looked like theyve not been cleaned in months. - Patio doors were missing a key so could only open the one door. Called maintenance about this and they couldnt find or replace the key. - Cleaning wasnt the best, freezer was dirty. - Kitchen blind was disgusting and stained. - Bathroom ventilation wasnt working and would guess this has been the case for a while as there is a fair amount of mould in the bathroom corners and around the window. Generally the lodge was really run down and disappointing compared to lots of other lodges we have stayed in at Finlake. Having said that, none of the issues were big enough problems to spoil the holiday. Definitely wouldnt choose this lodge in future though."
Sian - Aug 2025
"Internal door handle of sauna is metal so gets hot - could cause a burn."
Ann - Aug 2025
"This unit had many problems, it was very tired and had a lot of problems. It smelt, the sink and shower were blocked the shower screen leaked. The knives were filthy and one of the towels was very dirty."
Kay - Aug 2025
"Lovely lodge. Very comfortable and clean"
Kim - Aug 2025
"Considering it was the middle of the school holidays I thought the price was very reasonable, Caravan was a little bit tired but overall I cannot fault Finlake, site is immaculately tidy, great facilities, pools were lovely, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, got lucky with the weather which always helps. Me and the kids had a blast and Will definitely go back"
Joshua - Aug 2025
"The protector sheet on one of single beds was dirty!"
Angela - Aug 2025
"Smelled of wee (very strongly) Bedding not changed as had dog hair human hairs and pubic hairs in bedding Carpets wore out Wouldnt stay in this lodge again big let down to my regular summer holiday at Finlake"
Tammy - Jul 2025
"Our lodge was amazing with a fantastic view of the woods, very clean.hot tub was a great choice"
Wayne - Jul 2025
"Nothing superior about it. Considering it was out of season and the resort was no where near full, they put us as far away from everything as they could - I was 8 months pregnant so this was not ideal. The outside decking area was filthy, cobwebs everywhere and weeds growing through the decking. The outdoor furniture was cheap and nasty. Inside clean enough and had what was needed."
Samantha - Jul 2025
"Lovely and clean and everything worked as it should"
Douglas - Jul 2025
"Dirty and tired worktop was chipped on end blinds didnt meet in the middle in bedroom blind didnt come all way down in second bedroom"
Terry - Jul 2025
"Perfect lodge, well cleaned, also comes with some essentials for cleaning, and a crate of water for those who are opposed to tap water. Sofas comfy, everything working, smart tv aswell so can log into your own Netflix, prime video, YouTube etc"
HARVEY - Jul 2025
"Lovely lodge with towels and kitchen supplies provided. Decking is a great area to entertain. Lots of area around the lodge to play. Really nice set up."
Natalie - Jul 2025
"Good value for money. A little warn but overall good condition. Sofa had seen better days could do with a deep clean!"
Shara - Jun 2025
"As stated before caravan was really basic, hot tub was old but worked fine. Would consider finlake again but not this type of accommodation."
Neil - Jun 2025
"We booked a superior carvan which we were allocated 2 Saxon Way, which had 1 Double & 2 twin rooms. It was very clean & looked brand new! Our only tiny picky thing was we wished there was a lamp in the living area as it was either have the bright main lights on or nothing in the evening. Also personally wouldn't have 6 people in there it was tight for just 3 of us! We would definitely return to Finlake just perhaps in a bigger property."
Katherine - Jun 2025
"Lodge was great decking area with hot tub was brilliant. No major problems one being no tin opener in drawers other than that great holiday."
Paul - Jun 2025
"Almost everything you could need. No information on how to use the heating or oven though. I discovered on the last day, my duvet seemingly has been patched with a plaster. Cleanliness 8/10 dead bees in the spare room.Nice comfy sofa, TV , Washing Machine & Dishwasher."
Sharon - Jun 2025
"Except the dog hair, lodge is a good place to go for holiday, and beautiful site with all facilities like Gym, swimming, shops etc."
Prathima - Jun 2025
"Had everything you need, clean and tidy, perfect"
Peter - Jun 2025
"perfect caravan except the location of the hot tub"
Katie - Jun 2025
"Great site so clean and well maintained. Great facilities especially the swimming pools. Good location for days out to the coast and dartmoor. Lovely surroundings for walks with the dog. Would definitely return."
Helen - Aug 2022
"We have lovely holiday there?"
Agata - Aug 2022
"We have been 3 times before, this being our 4th ! As always , it was amazing! The park , the accommodation , the surroundings, the people and all the amenities, makes this one special place . Thanks Finlake yet again we have made special memories to cherish for a lifetime."
James - Aug 2022
"Excellent holiday. Would highly recommend this site."
Sarah - Aug 2022
"Lovely place to visit mist also add the staff we came across were very helpful, the house keeping staff were so efficient our mop was broken and within 15 minutes of me phoning them we had a new mop"
Thomas - Aug 2022
"Our holiday was great. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and the activities staff were super engaging and genuinely looked like they were enjoying themselves as much as we were. The only negatives I would mention (and they are minor), there weren’t many paths along the roads of the site so although walking on the grass and moving out the way of cars wasn’t a problem for us, those with younger children, buggies or wheelchairs may not find this acceptable. The walk to the stables being an example. The only other downside was the lack of evening entertainment or things for teens to do once the paid activities were over and the swimming pools had closed. There were 2 pool tables in the bar but that was it so if you haven’t come prepared with anything to do and aren’t planning on spending the evening off site there is very little for them to do. Other than that we had a fabulous week and will definitely be returning for a cheeky adults only weekend."
Lauren - Aug 2022
"A lovely stay - lodges perfectly kitted out. Kids loved the pools and exploring - such a large yet quiet site. Super Staff helpful, calm and over the top with politeness. The only suggestion I would make is for a flat reasonable space for playing football which stays open while it is light say 9pm for older kids or teenagers."
Linda - Aug 2022
"Finlake never disappoints. Not been since all the new spa/pool etc added. Still lovely setting and with private lodges. The food at The Hub & The Retreat was faultless! Great to have eat in or takeaway options! Shop was well stocked (and even a huge variety of gins to choose from! The only downside was that our lodge was very basic and not cleaned particularly well before we arrived. Could have done with some selves in the bathrooms to keep all our toiletries on. Hot tub was not in good working order either. Lovely & warm but jets didn’t work. Overall, we’d definitely be back!"
