About Ranksborough Hall

Surrounded by stunning natural beauty and unspoiled greenery all around, a holiday here is the ideal rural retreat for those wanting a sense of tranquility and escapism. The charming village of Langham is nearby, as well as some incredible walking routes. In the evening, your holiday home is the perfect place to relax in front of a film or in your own private hot tub outside. This is a great spot for all the family, with a range of accommodation so that there is a place for any sized group to feel settled in with plenty of room.

The site itself captures a wonderful sense of bliss and calm with the rolling greenery and lush trees all around. It's the perfect place to unwind and de-stress.  There are also lots of woodland walks for an easy, leisurely stroll which the whole family can enjoy. Be sure to pack your lunch for a picnic surrounded by the superb vegetation.

Some of the accommodation is pet friendly, and with the routes through the countryside, this is a great place to bring a canine companion. The park is ideally located for those wanting to be more active whilst on a getaway here, as there are some fantastic nearby locations to discover only a short drive away. In the evening after a day of exploring, the site is the ultimate place to unwind and put your feet up.

The holiday homes available here range in size, but all have a real sense of luxury, not least because many of them have outdoor hot tubs for the ultimate relaxation. Glendale is a new lodge, and this stunning contemporary lodge offers unmatched elegance. The interior is cosy yet stylish, and the open plan living space means that guests can easy settle in with plenty of room to spread out.

The modern kitchen is equipped with all you need, and the master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe so there is plenty of storage space. Stately is another new lodge, and this bigger holiday home sleeps up to five people, with three bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en-suite, and there is another main bathroom. Enjoy the sun from the outdoor furniture or hot tub, situated on the decking outside. Rivendale offers a cosy and homely feel for a family of four. In the evening, watch a film in the comfortable living space and once the kids are in bed, the parents can soak in the hot tub.

The quaint village of Langham is only a 15-minute walk away, and this is a great place for a relaxed walk and a stroll through the shops or getting a drink. There are a couple of welcoming pubs available in the centre, including The Noel Arms which has a real rustic feel. Oakham is a county town a 50-minute walk away from the park, or alternatively just over five minutes away in the car.

The Larder is a great place for a sweet treat, or enjoy a sophisticated afternoon tea at Castle Cottage Café. Take a walk through the Rutland Water Nature Reserve, where there are beautiful views of the stunningly well preserved wetland and look out for the breeding ospreys. For an adventurous day out, try out kayaking or paddle boarding amongst other activities at Aqua Park Rutland.

Ranksborough Hall Reviews

"Amazing location!Spacious accommodation and the bonus of privacy and the hot tub is perfect. Felt like a home from home and thoroughly relaxed and recharged."
Verified Guest - Oct 2023
"We spent the week at Ranksborough whilst visiting relatives in Leicester. Managed to get a few days out around the area, Oakham and Rutland Water being well worth the visit. The lodge ( no. 37 ) was a lovely base, very clean, with everything you would need to have a few meals in when you don't fancy going anywhere at night complete with a relaxing time in the well maintained Hot tub. Site was beautifully looked after and very peaceful , would definitely recommend."
Carol - Oct 2023
"The Glendale lodge is absolutely beautiful its location is very quiet and relaxing I would definitely recommend this lodge"
Julie - Oct 2023
"Very good caravan not lodge clean everything you needed hot tub spotless and very warm quite site alot of work men and big vans on site strange location says two pub in walking distance one closed has been for a wile other one wow closed Mon Tues opens late wed doesn't serve food till Thursday wow again so nothing at all with in walking distance at all enjoy stay but wouldn't go back"
John - Oct 2023

"Beautiful lodge, tastefully decorated. The cupboards are stocked with pans, dishes cutlery etc, everything you could need. The beds are comfy with powerful shower in the ensuite. The hot tub is checked every day. This lodge/site is perfect fora peaceful getaway."
Julie - Oct 2023
"Loved our lodge at Ranksborough Hall, just what we needed for a well deserved rest! 5 stars from us! Looking to book again for next year."
Amy F - Oct 2023
"The lodge was not cleaned properly and musky smell also cigarette ends on the decking near the hot tub and the windows were filthy. Not idea for the money you pay which was a lot really disappointed with it would not recommend it. Far better value for money around there."
KEIR - Oct 2023
"2nd time at ranksborough hall lodges Nothing is never a problem Can't wait to return"
Laura - Oct 2023
"Cannot fault the actual lodge - it was spacious and extremely clean. There was a great veranda space to be able to sit outside. The staff were also very good sending over clear details well in advance regarding lock box access, check in times and wi-fi codes and were in contact via email during our stay to check everything was ok. However, the holiday site itself is in the middle of an estate of retirement bungalows for the over 55s, and did not live up to the "immaculate" reviews previously posted. There were a number of run-down buildings around the Hall and a couple of marketing site offices so it all felt a bit like a housing estate sales plot rather than a holiday site. If you are looking for peace and quiet then it would be a good place to stay but bear in mind you will need a car to get out and about., there are no facilities at all on the site. And no play area or other spaces for children. In terms of location, the walk to the village pub is literally 5 to 10 minutes, but there is nothing else there. We went to Gates Garden Centre and Farmshop at Cold Overton which is definitely worth a visit, and Melton Mowbray and Oakham are a 10 to 20 minute drive from the site."
Verified Guest - Oct 2023
"Real nice place to stay and provided a lot of useful information about local takeaways and supermarkets. Use of a vehicle is a must. Great to have WiFi. Would say only downside is that as a pet friendly accommodation the cleaning equipment was not enough. No hoover or mop and bucket. The only way to try to keep it clean is with a sweeping brush which had seen better days and not much use. The caravan had everything else needed. The other downside was the humming from the hot tub on next doors veranda. Hummed all day and night even though no-one was staying there. Not sure if it was an oversight or not. Enjoyed the fact that due to not having any on site facilities, there were no children stating there so had full peace and quiet. Local pub in walking distance but you do need to check opening times as not opened everyday and does not serve food everyday. Seems all pubs only serve food until 2pm then again from either 5pm or 6pm. Places to visit Oakham, Stamford and Rutland water. Best food we had was at a pub called The Wheatsheaf in a village called Edith Weston near the south side of Rutland water."
Michelle - Oct 2023
"Fantastic lodge, very modern & great facilities. One of the best we've stayed inFelt like a home from home.Staff were always on hand to answer any questions.Local area was lovely, lots of things to do for a mixture of ages.Only thing for us is we did feel like the lodges are quite close together meaning the hot tubs can feel abit overlooked at times.Would defo return"

Melanie - Jul 2022
"Gainsborough Hall lodges are in a lovely rural location. It's a quiet park, with only 45 lodges, but was just what we wanted. Our lodge was clean, well equipped with plenty of cutlery and kitchen utensils. There was good space in the lodge too with comfy bedding and towels. The hot tub was great, well used by all of our party and we loved the decking. The area around Ranksborough is lovely to walk in, crops and animals to see and the small village is very quaint, no shops but nice to walk through. There is an Aldi a short drive away. The lodges are perfect for a couples get away or with more grown up children. Perfect holiday and perfect location. I would recommend and would return of in this area."
Hazel - Jul 2022
