This was our first holiday together and we couldn't have asked for a more idyllic location. We both described it as a little piece of perfection. There was cold Prosecco and chocolates, waiting for us, on arrival and the lodge was finished to perfection with all the touches that made us feel, instantly, at home. We will definitely be back and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here in the Grondal lodge as part of our Honeymoon and it was perfect. The location makes it great for visiting the local area if you can bring yourself to leave the lodge! Spotless and beautifully presented there isn't a thing we did not like and the complementary bottle of prosecco and chocolates were a lovely addition on arrival. The lodge was very private and watching the wildlife from the veranda was so relaxing, with squirrels, rabbits, woodpeckers , owls etc making an appearance . Watching the bats dancing round the sky above whilst layed back in the hot tub was bliss. We can't wait to come back and would recommend it to anyone if it wasn't for the fact that we don't want it fully booked!!

Accommodation type: Evernia
This was our third holiday at Springwood lodges. Having now stayed in three different lodges we found Evernia to be just as good as the other two. Everything has been thought of down to the tiniest detail. Very comfortable all round. A real home from home! The lodges are set in a woods and are far enough apart to give each it's privacy. Especially the hot tubs, which are great for relaxing in the evenings with a glass of bubbly after the days excursions! We would be very happy to stay in Evernia again, but would be equally pleased to stay in any of the lodges here. Can't wait to return for our holiday next year!

Fun Days Out near Spring Wood Lodges

Fountains Abbey - about 6 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
Lightwater Valley - about 10 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Big Sheep - about 16 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
