Families, couples and groups of friends seeking luxurious accommodation and relaxing location close to a beach should look no further than Auchenlarie. The site has a friendly atmosphere and benefits from a fabulous location in Wigtown Bay. This fantastic setting affords breathtaking views and the direct access to a sandy beach is a real bonus.

The park is attractively landscaped and children have plenty of open space to play. Within the grounds is a modern Health Club, complete with indoor pool, gym, sauna and solarium - the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing! Locally there are many attractions including several historic castles and houses, as well as areas of beautiful forest for walking and cycling. Golf enthusiasts will find no less than 30 courses within easy reach. Fishing is also available just a short stroll from the park.

Back on site the restaurant serves tasty local food and there are two bars. Other facilities include an adventure playground, crazy golf, an amusement arcade, function room and children's club with "Peter the Panda".

If you are looking for a lodge with a hot tub then there are 3 to choose from at Auchenlarie. The Courtyard 1 and 4 cottages both sleep 5 people and were refurnished in 2010. These spacious cottages are contemporary and ideal for families. The Courtyard 2 is larger offering accommodation spread over two storeys. This cottage was refurbished in 2010 and can sleep up to 6 people. All of the cottages here are very well equipped for self catering and have a dishwasher and furnished terrace for alfresco dining.

My wife and I have visited the park THIRTEEN times now. Initially we camped and in later years we have rented their caravans. We have taken our own children and grandchildren, we will be going back this year, so it really cannot be bad ........ Need I say more.

Great caravan. Beautifully clean. The one and only negative is there was no outdoor furniture. A wooden table and chairs would have been perfect for chilling in the big veranda area as we had really good weather.

The caravans were good and clean. I don't like the bed mattress but that is me.

A good basic value for money accommodation, plenty of space for a weekend. However for a longer holiday would have needed 3 bedrooms not 2 for 6 people.
My only complaint was that a strange smell cheesy/vomit came from the fridge area, we couldn't locate the source though.

This was our second time at staying here, we absolutely loved it , the gold caravan was spotless and perfect for our young son. The surrounding area has plenty to keep a 2 year old entertained without being too expensive, will definitely be back
John
Good park. clean great views over the bay.good location for getting out and about exploring. The local area and further afield. Freindly and helpful staff
Andrew
Always a pleasure to return to this site again. Very tidy and well kept site in a great location.
Claire
A beautiful location, with helpful staff had a fantastic break with two small children and two older family members. I only dropped a few points for facilities as lack of free wifi was a bit of a pain and I felt the lounge for the evening show was a little small and felt cramped on an evening particularly when the kids show was on. Also the decking was great and appreciated, however had we known there was know outside furniture we would have brought camp chairs.
Mary
Great family site well kept and with friendly staff
Kerry
This is our 5th time to this park & have loved it every time and will be returning next year the staff, the food, the scenery are all fantastic can't recommend enough
Rajiv
A very great location for some peace and quite break. The caravans were clean and well maintained. I liked the rocky beach near the caravans. The indoor pool is ok. Overall it was a great holiday.
Paul
Excellent site and facilities, the staff were very helpful, the Gold 2 caravan was excellent
Sharon
Beautiful area with loads to see and do in all weathers. Fantastic site with gorgeous views. Really great staff. Great wee shop which unlike other holiday parks has not bumped up it's prices. Will definitely be returning!
Allan
Very nice place, friendly staff. Good food and drink at reasonable price. Brand new caravan kept grounds.

Fun Days Out near Auchenlarie

Laggan Outdoor - about 0 Miles

An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.

Castle Douglas - about 14 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
