Edinburgh & The Borders Hot Tub Lodge Guide

Whether you're looking for a lively getaway with friends or a place with loads for the kids to enjoy and experience, the City of Edinburgh is the perfect place for a hot tub holiday. From their annual Fringe Festival, which takes place every August, to its historic castle dating back to the Iron Age- this city encompasses everything you need for a memorable stay.

If you don't fancy staying in Edinburgh City Centre in a B&B or one of the hotels, booking up a lodge can make for a luxurious way to experience everything the city has to offer while offering loads more space and your own private outdoor hot tub.

In this guide, I'll cover some of the best current cabins, cottages and lodgings that all have a private use jacuzzi and include ideas for families, couples and pet-friendly breaks.

Thirlstane Woodland Lodges, Lauder

Less than an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and only minutes on foot from the popular town of Lauder, Thirlstane Woodland Lodges are a top choice for families and groups seeking a bit of culture and style! You get a great view of the famous Thirlestane Castle from this lodge

From the décor to the countryside surroundings, these holiday homes are a modern take on tradition and a nod to all things Scotland!

Guests will be able to enjoy magnificent views of ‘Leader Water’, as well as Thirlestane Castle (also known as one of the seven ‘Great Houses in Scotland’). The nearby town of Lauder also hosts an annual summer festival and families will be able to explore the local history by taking its 2km ‘Lauder Town Trail’.

For families wanting affordable luxury, the Kingfisher lodge is ideal. This spacious cabin can accommodate up to four guests and features a king-size room, as well as a comfortable twin.

Two pets are also welcome free of charge. On top of the sleeping arrangements, Kingfisher is great for daytime entertainment. With a big open plan kitchen, a private hot tub and accessibility to the woodland behind, this pet-friendly lodge is a delightful choice.

Braidhaugh Park, Crieff

Situated within Braidhaugh Holiday park and on the banks of the River Earn, Braidhaugh Park is a good choice for couples and families wanting plenty of lovely outdoor space.

This lodge and glamping park is the ultimate hideout and includes accommodations to suit families, couples and groups. Of course, guests staying here will also be able to make use of the lovely patio which is complete with a private hot tub!

Onsite, there is also a children’s play area, a fishing lake and a lovely little shop where you can pick up the daily essentials.

For a day of exploring, the nearby town of Crieff is worth a trip. Packed full of cafes, restaurants, bars and shops, you’re bound to stumble across some great food here.

What’s more, the famous ‘Grouse experience’ is just around the corner. You’ll be able to take part in an immersive tour of the Glenturret Distillery, learning all about the history of its renowned whiskey. Great for a parents’ afternoon out!

I don't know about you, but I could just jump in this hot tub right now.

Other well-known attractions include the Scottish castle of ‘Scone Palace’, where you can become royalty for the day. Not only will you have the chance to wander the grounds of this historic landmark, but you’ll also learn more about how past kings were crowned here!

Go Ape has also been recommended for families wanting a fun day out. You’ll find this popular attraction less than an hour away, whilst Edinburgh is around an hour and a half’s journey from the resort.
