Lilliardsedge Holiday Park Reviews

"We loved this cosy cottage, especially the hot tub and log burner. The hosts were lovely and super welcoming. Can't wait to come back soon!"
Olivia - Feb 2025
"We loved this cosy cottage with its lovely log burner and hot tub. The hosts were really friendly and its so peaceful here. Cant wait to come back for a longer stay!"
Lucinda - Dec 2024
"We had a fantastic time staying here! Sharon and Robert really went out of their way to make us feel at home, which was lovely. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie - he felt secure and happy. The location was just right, with loads of walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are absolutely charming. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed, so it was a great break for us!"
Laura Thompson - Nov 2024
"We had a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location in Essex is perfect for exploring Thaxted and nearby villages - so much charm and history to discover. It's a peaceful spot for anyone looking to unwind and soak up some local character. Definitely recommend!"
Jessie - Aug 2024
"Our Lilliardsedge Holiday Park review: We loved the cosy log burner and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. The hosts were really friendly and made us feel at home. Hope to come back soon!"
Isabel - Jul 2024
"We booked this place for a dog walking escape and it was just what we needed. Lovely cosy accommodation, nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields for off-road adventures. The dog didnt even want to leave!"
Peter - Jun 2024
"Overall, the place was pretty good. The hot tub was lovely and the kitchen had everything we needed. Its just a bit close to neighbours!"
Chloe - May 2024
"We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels super private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely and welcoming. The place itself is really spacious with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, making everything easy. The bed was incredibly comfy and the garden, dog-proof and secluded, was perfect for relaxing. There are lots of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking eateries like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!"
Georgina - May 2024
"Really happy with the stay, the lodge was lovely and cosy."
Oliver - Apr 2024
"The setting was beautiful, overlooking the golf course, which was lovely. The hot tub wasnt very private, which was a bit of a letdown and we felt some internal updates are needed-clean towels and fixing up fixtures would really boost the place. For what we paid, it should be 5-star, honestly."
Emma - Apr 2024
"The lodge was really charming and we felt totally at ease there. The hot tub was a real highlight, honestly! We had such a relaxing time and would definitely go back. Everything was well-kept and comfy, making our stay super enjoyable. Can't recommend it enough for a peaceful weekend away."
Lucy - Apr 2024
"We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us. The cottage itself was charming, with a cosy feel and a really powerful shower that we loved. Parking right outside was super convenient. Its well heated, spotlessly clean and just a nice peaceful spot. Plus, the walks to Thaxted are perfect if you enjoy peaceful countryside and pretty villages. Would definitely come back!"
Sam - Mar 2024
"Really impressed with the Bowden pods, well designed!"
Charlotte - Feb 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay here, everything was spot on - tea, coffee, biscuits and more! Absolutely loved it."
James - Nov 2023
"We stayed in a spacious lodge that felt really cosy and had plenty of room to relax. The beds were super comfy, which made our nights really restful. When we realised we didnt have oven gloves, I asked at the shop and almost instantly, a friendly staff member knocked on our door with a pair. They explained that because of COVID, gloves arent kept in lodges, but you can always ask for some. We really appreciated how helpful and attentive the staff were-it made our stay even better!"
Emily - Nov 2023
"We really enjoyed our visit. The grounds are lovely and walking with the dogs was fantastic!"
Harriet - Oct 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay and were planning to return in October, but the prices have shot up quite a bit since May. Its a shame, as wed love to go back soon. Oh well!"
Daniel - Sep 2023
"We had a really lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in such a peaceful, private area. The owners were super friendly and always willing to help without intruding on our space. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day out cycling. Just a heads up, the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of plane noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if youre sensitive, its worth considering. Overall, a great place to unwind!"
Rajiv - Aug 2023
"We really enjoyed our visit. The grounds were stunning and the dogs loved exploring everywhere with us."
Ellie - Aug 2023
"Looking forward to seeing the full park once all the new lodges are in place. Should be lovely!"
Marina - Aug 2020
"Really enjoyed the stay"
Martin - Aug 2020
"Had a lovely week, really chilled out in a spotless lodge. The hot tub was definitely a highlight!"
Claire - Aug 2020
"Looking forward to returning soon"
George - Jul 2020
"Great stay overall, would definitely return, just wish the bed was a bit bigger."
Alex - Jul 2020
"Great spot, we'll be back soon!"
Simon - Jul 2020
"We stayed at Lilliardards Lodge for a weekend in late February with a group of us in our early twenties. First off, the staff were genuinely friendly and polite, which made a big difference. The lodge itself was spotless and really well maintained - we were quite impressed by how much detail had gone into the little touches, like the welcome basket and the Bluetooth speakers tucked into the ceiling, which was a nice surprise. One small hiccup was the bathroom lock - we let reception know straight away and they were quick to offer to fix it either during or after our stay, which we appreciated. It wasnt a big deal at all, but its good to know theyre responsive. The service for bathrobes and slippers was also a highlight; they delivered them to us promptly for the hot tub, which was lovely. However, the robes were pretty rough and not very comfortable. As a tall woman, I found them quite short, coming up to my elbows, which wasnt ideal and the guys had similar issues. Honestly, Id suggest bringing your own if you can. Overall, the place was super clean and well-kept and wed definitely recommend it if youre after a tidy, friendly spot with nice little extras. Wed definitely come back!"
Alexandra Taylor - Mar 2020
"Great holiday experience, would definitely recommend!"
Jamie - Feb 2020
"Absolutely loved our second trip here! Well definitely be back again soon. Highly recommend it!"
Jackie - Feb 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was cosy and well-equipped."
Mark - Oct 2019
"Great experience overall"
Sarah - Apr 2019
"It was a great stay , the pod was very clean and hot tub was excellent, I would say a canopy over the hot tub would be a future improvement to stop tree leafs going in the water but over all a great little holiday"
Caitlyn - Jul 2022
"Staff were friendly, even called me to say the unit was ready and we could check in early. Only downside for us was the units are very close together, for the most part this wasn't an issue, but then a family checked in near the end of the holiday, their kids were allowed to do as they pleased, hitting the side of the home with balls and frisbees, playing catch next to the cars and not always catching the ball, parents just sitting watching them do it. Spoiled the last few nights."
Martin - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodge restaurant nice food nice weather wosnt the best but thats scotland for you deffinatly go back"
John - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodge. Very clean, everything you need. Great park, kid and dog friendly which was perfect for us. Unfortunately didn't stay long enough to use restaurant or visit entertainment but will definitely return again."
Diane - Jul 2022
"Holiday park was great, would be good if there was some kids entertainment but overall fab holiday."
Bethanie - Jul 2022
"Our lodge (a lilliards 4 bed),was great ,very well equipt and spotless.the bed was very comfy.the decking was large with very nice furniture ,and the hot tub was fantastic .overall a relaxing holiday .the only gripe would be the 4pm check in and 9am check out. 2pm and between 10am and 11am would be better"
Agnes - Jul 2022
"The park was very clean and tidy and staff were very helpful and friendly"
Bernadette - Jul 2022
"Lillesrdsedge is a very large and well laid out site that is meticulously maintained (can border on the intrusive with the level of noise from some of the machinery at times) The Linden pod we booked was excellent for our needs and all supplied for use within pod was of excellent quality. Safe and secure for our dog. The Tavern food was again of excellent quality but lacking a pool table which would have kept my 17 year old entertained. Plenty of outdoor seating. Takeaway van was a nice option for a few evenings too. Check in time of 4pm I feel is too late, especially as on-site shop closes at 5pm. Check out time of 9am is far too early also."
Annemarie - Jul 2022
"Fabulous place! Great entertainment! Worth the money!"
Lauren - Jul 2022
"Great location - quiet during the week - can imagine it being more active at the weekend / school holidays."
William - Jul 2022
"Absolutely loved the Biwden pod we stayed in. The park is lovely. Very clean and well kept. Nice and peaceful. The Tavern is a good place to drink and there is plenty of outdoor seating for nice weather. The food was good and service was too."
Christine - Jul 2022
"Lodge was really good only thing was not a lot to do on the site but overall very relaxing holiday would definitely go back."
Elizabeth - Jul 2022
"Lovely place and we have been as a family a few times now both camping and staying in one of the new pods which was excellent we would definitely recommend it."
Scott - Jul 2022
