Riverview Holiday Park Reviews

"Really enjoyed staying here, the place was spotless and felt super roomy."
Alex - Feb 2025
"Lovely place with friendly staff, comfy cabins too!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay! The place was spotless, comfy and had everything we needed. Hot tub was a bonus!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"We had such a great stay! The house was really cosy and spotless, beds super comfy. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and the hot tub? Absolutely fantastic! Well definitely return soon!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Our Riverview Holiday Park review: We spent four fantastic nights here from the 8th of July and honestly, we had an amazing time. The accommodation was spotless and had everything you'd need for a chilled out break. The hot tub was a real highlight-checked daily, always pristine and clearly well looked after. Everyone we met on the park was super friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even better. Its such a lovely spot, perfect for exploring the Newcastleton mountain bike trails, just a short stroll into the village where you can find everything. The Wi-Fi was spot-on-super quick, no issues at all, contrary to some reviews. We really didnt want to leave! Cant wait to return someday."
Alex Morgan - Jul 2024
"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The shower was a bit snug, but honestly, thats probably just our own size issues. Still, lovely place!"
Emma - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, will come again."
Emma Carter - May 2024
"We recently stayed at this remote getaway spot and honestly, it did exactly what it promises - a peaceful escape from everyday life. Perfect for couples or families who want some quality time away from the hustle and bustle. The location is pretty isolated, but thats clearly mentioned in the description, so we werent caught off guard. One thing that did bother us a bit was the check-in time being at 4pm and check-out at 10am - feels like youre paying mainly for one day, which seems a little steep. The pod itself was spotless and well-maintained, so no complaints there. The hot tub was enjoyable, though the cover kept flapping around, which kept the kids entertained trying to catch it! The biggest hassle was the shower situation. The shower in our pod was out of order for most of our stay and when we alerted staff, they quickly fixed it by telling us to use the shower in the neighbouring pod. That wasnt ideal with three kids in tow, especially as it wasnt clear if we could shower there again the next day or if it was just a one-off fix. Plus, having to move toiletries between pods and walk around in swimwear was a bit of a pain. Still, all in all, a lovely place to unwind and disconnect. The countryside was stunning and really helped us relax."
Emma Clarke - Apr 2024
"We loved the lodge's stunning views and all the facilities were just perfect!"
Emma - Feb 2024
"We had such a wonderful stay, honestly! The staff went out of their way, leaving a lovely bottle of fizz outside our door the day after we tied the knot. We wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely booking again soon!"
Emma - Dec 2023
"We had a lovely three-night stay at the Retunder Lodge. Its perfect for a small family, with all the essentials like a Smart TV and decent WiFi. The hot tub was definitely the highlight, especially on chilly nights. Wed happily return!"
Simon - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay! Lovely walks by the river and the village is only a couple of minutes away by car. Nice spot!"
Oliver - Nov 2023
"We loved the stunning setting, really peaceful and perfect for unwinding. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, such a treat after a long day. Sadly, the WiFi was a bit of a letdown - despite the staffs efforts with a booster, it didnt work. Still, overall, a lovely spot for some relaxation. Highly recommend!"
James - Nov 2023
"We had a fantastic stay! The setting is truly peaceful and perfect for unwinding. My partner loved being able to fish anytime, which made his trip special. The lodge was spotless and really well equipped. Definitely a place wed tell our friends and family about! Would go again for sure."
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We found the place quite decent overall, but the unwashed mug in the cupboard was a bit off-putting. Also, only one toilet roll supplied, so we brought our own."
Jamie - Jun 2023
"Loved the quiet vibe and how close it was to the town centre. Definitely planning to come back soon!"
Emma - Jun 2023
"Absolutely loved our stay, the lodge was fantastic and the location couldn't be better!"
Emma - Feb 2020
"We had a cracking time staying here in November 2019and decided to come back in January 2020 - no regrets! The lodge is spotlessly clean and super comfy, even when its freezing outside. Pauline is a star, always happy to share local tips and update us on road closures - she even popped by to check everything was alright, which we really appreciated given the weather. Cant wait to return again! Its a gem, though Id hate for it to get so popular we cant get a booking. Highly recommended!"
Harriet - Jan 2020
"Really enjoyed it, can't wait to come back again!"
Claire - Jan 2020
"We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and honestly, it exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and super comfy, making it a real home from home. The kitchen was a highlight - perfect for cooking up a storm on those rainy, chilly days, with plenty of space for all our pots and plates. Inside, it felt warm and inviting and surprisingly roomy for four adults. The setting was simply stunning - rolling hills and a gentle river right outside. Pauline was a star, really helpful with directions and updates about the flooding, checking in on us and offering her contact for anything we needed. We didn't want to leave!"
Charlotte - Nov 2019
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, its quite lovely. The place feels personal and welcoming. The bed was a tad too soft for our liking, but overall, it was pretty comfy. The shower pressure did drop if someone used the kitchen tap though."
Emma - Nov 2019
"Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back!"
Emma - Sep 2019
"Really enjoyed the stay overall"
Olivia - Apr 2019
"Lovely spot, peaceful and well-equipped"
Mark - Apr 2019
"We had such a lovely stay here in November 2019 and decided to come back in January 2020 - no regrets! The lodge was spotless and super comfy, keeping us warm even in the cold weather. Pauline was absolutely lovely, always ready with helpful tips about local spots and road updates, which was really thoughtful. She even checked in on us to make sure everything was alright, which we appreciated. Were already looking forward to our next visit. Would definitely recommend it, though wed hate for it to get so popular we can't get a booking!"
Harriet - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed it, definitely coming back soon!"
Claire - Jan 1970
"The lodge was lovely and felt quite cosy overall. We liked the personal touch, though comfort is subjective - I found it pretty comfy, but the bed was a tad too soft for us. Also, the shower pressure drops when someone uses the kitchen tap, which was a bit annoying!"

Attractions Near Riverview Holiday Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Riverview Holiday Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 11 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 19 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 33 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Kailzie Gardens - EH45 9HT
about 34 Miles
Kailzie Gardens are another popular attraction and are an excellent place for a day out in the summertime. The gardens are a peaceful and colourful place to spend the day with a wide variety of flora and fauna on display. Other attractions here include live viewing of the Tweed Valley ospreys, a Gift Shop where children can pick up a souvenir, a Tearoom serving tasty local produce and home cooked meals, a Children's Corner, Putting Green, and a gorgeous private 2½ mile stretch on the River Tweed where visitors can enjoy Fly Fishing and a Picnic Area.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 35 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 36 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 38 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
