"Just the rest we needed for a few days. So peaceful and relaxing. At the entrance there is a Tesco Express which is helpful if you've forgotten anything or just need some snacks.We bought 4 bags of logs for the hot tub from the site (pre paid for in advance) and found this just right for the couple of times we used it. We took our own fire lighters and kindling.It was lovely seeing the wildlife and that lovely turquoise water. Our accommodation was Point Lodge. Lovely situation for a romantic breakCouple of minor details for the team- chair legs need securing and a fish slice/ turner is needed for cooking/frying as the spatula provided wasn't ideal ."
"Loved our stay, peaceful, tranquil just brilliant. We did go put of season but still feel you wouldn't be overwhelmed by people if you went during a busy period. Cabins are well spaced so you can see your neighbours but are a good distance away so literally no noise. We got a lift on a buggy to our cabin and the offer to collect us on check out if needed. Laura our host was always at the end of the phone she sent us some useful videos on how to light the fire for the hot tub she was super lovely. If I had to add a negative it would just be in regard to the security deposit. Be mindful when booking about this and also takes a while to go back in. Ours was 4 days so if you are on a budget to be mindful that there is a wait to get the money back. Overall though great experience. We took our 3 year old he loved his adventure holiday, the beautiful fish and ducks swimming up to us **"

"We had a lovely time, especially enjoying the stunning lake views and all the activities on offer. The staff were genuinely fantastic-so friendly and helpful. It was a bit frustrating that beach access isnt included in the price, considering how much the stay costs and the outdoor furniture couldve done with a good clean. Also, the logs for the hot tub are quite pricey, which adds up. Still, overall, a great experience!"

A 113-foot Norman keep above the River Medway, with a dramatic siege story behind it.
Rochester Castle stands on the east bank of the River Medway in Kent, guarding an important river crossing on the London road. Its great Norman keep of Kentish ragstone was built about 1127 by William of Corbeil, Archbishop of Canterbury. It has three floors above a basement and still stands 113 feet high. A tall forebuilding with its own defences protects the entrance.

The Tower of London is a historic castle and World Heritage Site on the north bank of the River Thames. William the Conqueror built the White Tower in the 1070s, and over the centuries the Tower has served as a royal palace, an armoury, a treasury and a prison. Today it is cared for by the charity Historic Royal Palaces.
Tip: The Tower is quieter in the afternoons, after midday. Check the website for temporary route closures before you visit.

A royal castle on islands in a lake, once home to Edward I and Catherine of Aragon.
Leeds Castle stands on islands in a lake formed by the River Len, about 7 miles south-east of Maidstone in Kent. It is a Grade I listed estate, and a castle has stood on the site since Saxon times. The building you see today is mostly early 19th century, remodelled in a Tudor style.
Tip: Look out for the painting of Henry VIII meeting Francis I of France, and the doublet worn at the Battle of Maidstone, both on display.

Inigo Jones's white classical villa in Greenwich, free to enter and home to the Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I.
The Queen's House in Greenwich was designed by Inigo Jones and completed in the 1630s as a private retreat for the queens of the Stuart royal family. It is England's first classical building, and its white, elegantly proportioned style stands out against the red-brick Tudor palace that once stood here. Today it is an art gallery, part of Maritime Greenwich, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tip: Book free tickets online in advance to guarantee entry, and head first for the Armada Portrait in the Queen's Presence Chamber.

Walk the high-level walkways and glass floors inside London's best-known Victorian bridge.
Tower Bridge is a Grade I listed bridge over the Thames, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge deck is free to cross on foot, but the Tower Bridge Exhibition lets you go inside. You climb the North Tower, cross the High-Level Walkways 42 metres above the river for views east and west over London, and step out on the Glass Floors.
Tip: Pre-book your tickets, as everyone queues outside on arrival. Wear comfortable shoes for the Towers, though lifts are available.
