"Had a great time, lodge was lovely, starting to look a little bit dated but still lovely and clean, beds were comfortable, not much elbow room in the en suite shower, everything you need for a break away, staff were brilliant, very pleasant"

"Our third stay as a group at Thanet Well lodges. Weve stayed in a different lodge each time but all have been great for our stay: clean, relatively well equipped and spacious. We had a few hiccups around missing dining room furniture (only 4 chairs in a 6 person lodge), tripped fuses (pesky toaster) and a surprise drained hot tub (oops) but nothing was too much hassle for the team who were happy to help and get everything sorted for us. The photos on the website dont quite translate to the lodge you stay in - so manage your own expectation when you walk through the door. Its never been an issue because the lodge has been suited for us but there are certainly differences. We love this site, we love the view, the location is ideal and we will absolutely be back again. Weve recommended to friends and will continue to do so - thank you!"

"Our Thanet Well Lodge Retreat review: We recently stayed at Thanet Lodge Well Retreat and honestly, it was a lovely escape. The views are breathtaking, with fields and mountains all around, making it super peaceful and scenic. The lodges are spotless, modern and well-equipped - everything we needed was there, from comfy beds to warm showers. Heating was straightforward to control, which is a plus. They even provide dishwasher tablets, sponges and dish soap, so no fuss there, though we did bring some antibacterial wipes just in case. The hot tub was a highlight - always clean, checked daily and perfect temperature, with stunning vistas to enjoy. Location-wise, its good, with some nice pubs nearby like Odd Fellows Arms. All in all, a really pleasant few days away in a lovely place."

"We had a great 4-night stay, honestly felt just like being at home. There were a couple of maintenance hiccups, but when I called reception, the plumber arrived almost immediately, which was handy. Apart from that, we all really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely planning to book again soon and already recommending it to family and friends!"

"Please find attachedWe stayed in Thanet Well Lodge Retreat over this weekend for a nice weekend get away with friends. The staff were helpful when it came to planning activities/ things to do in the area. However there were a few things which did take us all by surprise whilst we stayed.When we first entered the lodge the heating was set on 12c which for 8pm on a wet rainy night isnt the most welcoming of temperature. We noticed the heating was on timer settings which really didnt help the situation. The lodge took a long time to heat up then as soon as it became almost a pleasant temperature the timer would turn off. The whole of our stay me and my friends slept with another duvet ontop of the bed to help remain warm. Its a good job we had all brought thermals because we didnt take them off the whole time The facilitys in the lodge all worked perfectly the only fault I will mention which became quite annoying throughout the stay was the draw handles/knobs kept coming off the draws. Not to mention the paint work continued to peel off the cupboards which made the place look a bit tacky.The final bother we were dealt with was the fact there was no real house keeping popping in to make the beds or change the towels. Or even top up the toilet paper! We were 5 lady lodgers who shared only 2 rolls of toilet paper, when we asked we were told we have to pay for toilet roll to get topped up. The overall experience was great but our actual stay / accommodation wasnt up to the standards of which I experienced when I stayed with yourselves 2 years ago."

"We stayed with a group of six ladies and really enjoyed our time. The place was super clean and tidy and the rooms were quite spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and the towels and bedding were fresh. Only small gripe was the radiator dust, which could do with a quick clean. When it snowed, it looked stunning, but the high winds blew the hot tub cover off. We reported it but it wasnt fixed, so we only used it on the first night."

"6 ladies on a walking weekend, clean,. tidy, spacious accommodation may be radiator could.do with dust blown from them in the grid. .kitchen well equipped, clean towels, bedding .Only problem we had it snowed which was gorgeous but with the high winds the top.blew off the hot tub we did report it but it was not fixed so only used the hot tub on the 1st night of a 3 night stay."

"The lodge was fantastic, really spacious for our hyper cocker spaniel puppy to zoom around. The decking was secure and the hot tub was perfectly positioned, so it didnt spoil the view. Very clean and well-stocked with towels too."

"I feel the lodge facilities are average and the kitchen was cheap, the main bedroom window had a gap at the top which the wind whistled all night. The fridge door had dropped and you had to make sure it was closed correctly or it bleeped."

"We loved the peaceful vibe here. The lodge was really nice and comfy and the other lodges looked pretty good too. The mini shop had the essentials, which was handy. Honestly, youll need a car since its quite remote; the pubs about 4 miles away. Plenty of walks to enjoy and the sound of sheep bleating in the distance made it so relaxing. It was such a lovely, tranquil break for us. Were definitely coming back!"

"The lodges are simply lovely, nestled in such pretty scenery. Everything you could need is right there inside. Plenty of room for six, comfy beds and a well-stocked kitchen. We loved it!"

"We loved our stay! The North Lakes are much quieter and less crowded, which is exactly what we wanted for a relaxing break away."

"We stayed here with our dog for five days and honestly, the setting was beautiful - such a peaceful spot and the hot tub was definitely the highlight! That said, the lodge itself could really do with some TLC. The orange blinds and curtains looked pretty grubby and both shower heads were covered in limescale - clearly hadnt been cleaned properly. I get that some wear and tear is expected, but this place needs a proper refresh pretty soon. If we had brought family or kids, Id probably have asked to switch to a cleaner lodge. Its a shame because we got engaged here last week and we really love the lakes area. The location was good, very private, which we appreciated. One thing to note for dog owners - theres no dedicated dog walk area, just some grass near the lodges, so you need to be a bit creative. Also, some lodges had hot tubs on decking in front of others, which wouldve been a bit less private, but ours was tucked away nicely. The toilet roll situation was a bit of a joke - only two rolls for five days and they were thinner than my patience! Had to buy more from the shop. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but honestly, many others might find the standard a bit lacking."

"We had a fantastic time! The lodges are super modern and that view from the balcony is just stunning. The freestanding bath in its own room was a real treat. Perfect weekend getaway! We loved it!"

"We loved how this place was perfect for exploring West Lakes. The lodge was super comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The TVs in every room were a lifesaver! Pooley Bridge was charming with lovely pubs and free WiFi. The veranda was nice, but no views and no sun-had to drive out for scenery."

"We had a lovely long weekend here with stunning views and a really peaceful atmosphere, even though the site was quite busy. The place was super quiet and relaxing, which we loved. The only downside was the occasional smell from the drains, probably linked to toilet flushing, which wasn't great, especially towards the end of our stay. We noticed the water treatment engineer was there on the Monday, so maybe theyre aware of it. Also, some sharper kitchen knives would have made cooking easier and a measuring jug and colander wouldve been handy additions. Still, overall, a nice trip!"

"Beautiful location. Our lodge was well equipped and clean and very comfortable. The flooring in the bathroom was quite old and in need of replacing. The hot tub was amazing Overall really enjoyed our stay. Loved the lake’s. Very dog friendly"
