Thanet Well Lodge Retreat Reviews

"Nice place, would visit again"
Martin - Mar 2025
"We recently stayed at Thanet Lodge Well Retreat and honestly, it was a lovely escape. The views are breathtaking, with fields and mountains all around, making it super peaceful and scenic. The lodges are spotless, modern and well-equipped - everything we needed was there, from comfy beds to warm showers. Heating was straightforward to control, which is a plus. They even provide dishwasher tablets, sponges and dish soap, so no fuss there, though we did bring some antibacterial wipes just in case. The hot tub was a highlight - always clean, checked daily and perfect temperature, with stunning vistas to enjoy. Location-wise, its good, with some nice pubs nearby like Odd Fellows Arms. All in all, a really pleasant few days away in a lovely place."
Emma - Mar 2025
"The cabin was pretty well kitted out and spotless, though a bit dated. Still, we loved it! The hot tub was absolutely fantastic! Definitely recommend it."
Emma Clarke - Mar 2025
"We had a great 4-night stay, honestly felt just like being at home. There were a couple of maintenance hiccups, but when I called reception, the plumber arrived almost immediately, which was handy. Apart from that, we all really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely planning to book again soon and already recommending it to family and friends!"
Jamie - Mar 2025
"Our Thanet Well Lodge Retreat review: Very relaxing, would recommend it."
James - Feb 2025
"Really loved it, just needs more hangers."
Emma - Feb 2025
"Nice spot, but the lodges getting a bit tired, especially the boiler."
Emily - Feb 2025
"The cabin was really lovely and the views took our breath away. Cabin 3 was super tidy and felt more like a cosy little bungalow. Definitely recommend it!"
Jane - Jan 2025
"Always a good choice"
Emma Roberts - Dec 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, will return!"
Emma - Dec 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay there."
Laura - Dec 2024
"We stayed with a group of six ladies and really enjoyed our time. The place was super clean and tidy and the rooms were quite spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and the towels and bedding were fresh. Only small gripe was the radiator dust, which could do with a quick clean. When it snowed, it looked stunning, but the high winds blew the hot tub cover off. We reported it but it wasnt fixed, so we only used it on the first night."
Jessica Harper - Dec 2024
"We loved the place, especially the hot tub - it was absolutely fantastic! Definitely coming back."
Emma Roberts - Dec 2024
"Great place, would return"
Emma Carter - Dec 2024
"The lodge was fantastic, really spacious for our hyper cocker spaniel puppy to zoom around. The decking was secure and the hot tub was perfectly positioned, so it didnt spoil the view. Very clean and well-stocked with towels too."
Sarah Bennett - Nov 2024
"Great stay, comfy lodge, spotless and warm with stunning views!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Great service and good quality, highly recommend!"
Alex - Nov 2024
"The furniture was decent, though we had six people but only five seats, which was a bit of a pain. Overall, the lodge was nicely presented and beds were comfy."
Emma - Nov 2024
"We stayed in this lovely lodge with three bedrooms, all super comfy beds which made for a great sleep. The ensuites shower was really good and the main bathroom had a nice bath with an over-the-bath shower, perfect for relaxing. The walls are standard lodge thin, so you do hear the boiler kicking in at night, but if youre a heavy sleeper, you probably wont notice. The TV had Freeview, DVDs and games, which kept us entertained. The kitchen was fully equipped and spacious enough for our family of four plus the dog. The hot tub was an absolute highlight - so relaxing with stunning mountain views! The lodge felt very private and not overlooked at all. Honestly, wed definitely recommend it for a getaway, it was just perfect!"
Emily - Nov 2024
"Great experience, would definitely return"
Emma Roberts - Oct 2024
"Absolutely loved it here"
Emma Collins - Oct 2024
"We loved the peaceful vibe here. The lodge was really nice and comfy and the other lodges looked pretty good too. The mini shop had the essentials, which was handy. Honestly, youll need a car since its quite remote; the pubs about 4 miles away. Plenty of walks to enjoy and the sound of sheep bleating in the distance made it so relaxing. It was such a lovely, tranquil break for us. Were definitely coming back!"
Olivia Carter - Oct 2024
"The lodge was spacious, plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was lovely for cooking. The view was absolutely stunning too! We loved it."
Emma Clarke - Oct 2024
"We loved staying here! The hot tub was a real highlight, views fantastic."
Emma - Oct 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was cosy and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a day exploring. The views are stunning and were already planning to return, hopefully with some frost on the ground!"
Jamie - Oct 2024
"Lovely, relaxing break"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We had a lovely weekend here, perfect for a peaceful escape. The site is so quiet, making it easy to unwind and explore the Lake District. The lodge was spacious and comfy, with a hot tub and stunning views - a real bonus! The staff were really friendly and helpful, which made everything smoother. The mini shops occasional opening is handy, though a bit more consistency would be nice. Some lodges could use a touch of freshening up, but it didnt really spoil our stay. Great as always!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"The chalet really is stunning and well-equipped, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Very tidy too!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Stunning views and peaceful surroundings, loved it!"

Attractions Near Thanet Well Lodge Retreat

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Thanet Well Lodge Retreat. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 11 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 11 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 12 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 17 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 35 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 36 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 36 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 38 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
