Green Meadows Country Park Reviews

"We had a fantastic time! The hot tub was a real highlight and despite a few tiny issues, it didnt spoil anything."
Alex - Apr 2025
"We recently stayed in this lovely one-bedroom lodge and honestly, it exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and the kitchen was surprisingly well equipped with all the utensils we needed. The decking area with the hot tub was a real highlight, though adding a small table would make it perfect since there are already two chairs out there. The bedroom was really spacious, with a big wardrobe, but a few shelves or more hangers would be handy. Having Netflix and Prime on the TV was a great bonus for winding down in the evenings. All in all, we had a fantastic break and wouldnt hesitate to come back!"
Jamie - Mar 2025
"We had a lovely stay here! If you're after a peaceful, chill spot, this place hits the mark. The lodges are really modern, comfy and surprisingly pet-friendly which is a bonus for us. Even though there arent loads of facilities on site, its only a quick five-minute drive to Carlisle, where youll find plenty of shops and things to do. The best part? The location is brilliant-less than 45 minutes to the Lake District, which is absolutely stunning and offers loads for all tastes. The lodges themselves are spotless and cosy and each one comes with a hot tub that was ready when we arrived-perfect for unwinding after a day out exploring. We definitely want to come back and see more of the area!"
Alex and Sam - Mar 2025
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it exceeded our expectations! The photos didn't quite capture how spacious and modern it really is. Everything was spotless and the hot tub was such a treat after a long day. The heating was perfect too. Were definitely coming back and already told friends about it. Highly recommended for a relaxing break!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Our Green Meadows Country Park review: We recently spent three lovely days at this pet-friendly lodge and honestly, it was quite a treat. The place is well-furnished and has everything you might need for a short break, which made settling in really easy. The location is perfect for exploring and we managed to visit both Scotland and Newcastle easily-so its a great base for sightseeing. The only downside was how close the lodges are to each other; were used to a bit more space around us. But theyve thought about privacy, especially around the hot tub and the lockable gate on the verandah was a real bonus for the dog. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay here!"
Laura - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and super comfy."
Emma - Mar 2025
"We absolutely didnt want to leave! This place is truly fantastic. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless and well thought out. The modern design is stunning and its in a really handy spot near shops and attractions. The only thing wed mention is the bedroom curtains let in a lot of light, so early mornings are a given unless you bring an eye mask. Overall, a really lovely stay!"
Alex - Mar 2025
"We had such a lovely weekend here! The site was really well looked after and the lodge was gorgeous, especially the hot tub which felt so relaxing. The interior was tasteful and we appreciated the little touches like the robe and slippers laid out on the bed. The kitchen had everything we needed, though a pizza cutter wouldve been handy - not a biggie. The only downside was a faint foisty smell near the bedroom, but Im quite sensitive to smells and my partner didnt notice anything. A mat at the entrance from the hot tub wouldve been a good idea. Overall, pet loved it and were definitely coming back!"
Sam Taylor - Mar 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly and super helpful throughout. Definitely returning!"
James - Mar 2025
"Lovely stay, staff were super friendly, hot tub was brilliant!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"We stayed in the VIP pet-friendly lodge because we brought our dog along. The place was generally lovely, but we did notice some things that could be improved. The previous guests dog had clearly been muddy, which is understandable, but the mud on the black radiator was still there when we arrived, so it hadnt been fully cleaned. Also, a few little details like the coat hooks were a bit loose and a latch on the gate to the hot tub would have been handy. It would be great if there was a way to get in and out without waking early, especially for a relaxing weekend away. Overall, not bad at all, just some small touches needed."
Emma - Feb 2025
"We really enjoyed the lodge, especially the hot tub, which was a lovely touch. The only downsides were a chilly draft under the kitchen units and some WiFi issues, but overall, it was a great stay!"
Alex - Feb 2025
"Great experience, everything was just right, we genuinely had a fantastic time!"
Emma - Jan 2025
"Lovely environment, quiet and welcoming. Staff were genuinely friendly."
Emma Carter - Jan 2025
"The lodge was really stylish and spotless, with a good amount of crockery. Everything was organised nicely, making our stay very comfortable. Wed definitely come back!"
Sam - Dec 2024
"The lodge was spotless and had everything we could possibly need, despite being self-catering. Honestly, we couldnt find a single fault with it!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"We initially struggled with limited seating for six adults, but the staff were really accommodating and sorted out some better options quickly. Cheers!"
Emily - Nov 2024
"We had a really lovely weekend here. The little touches in the cabin, like the towel swabs shaped like flowers and the rose petals, made it special. The peaceful park was so well-kept and the hot tub was perfect-nice and warm and spotless. The staff were friendly and really helpful too. Definitely recommend it!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed the stay, would recommend!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"The lodge was a bit on the expensive side, but it was spotless and really comfy, so we didnt mind paying a bit more. Lovely stay!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The peaceful surroundings made it perfect to unwind and having our own hot tub was a real treat. Plus, being able to bring the dog along was a bonus. Theres plenty nearby like Asda and Costa. Well definitely return soon!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"The lodge was lovely and cosy and we couldnt wait to jump straight into the hot tub!"
Martin - Sep 2024
"We had such a great time exploring the beautiful lakes and Scotland. The location was perfect and weve already booked our next visit! Absolutely loved it."
Emily - Sep 2024
"Simple to book and really straightforward to find. Great!"
Emma - Jul 2024
"Green Meadows is a peaceful spot, perfect if you want quiet. The caravan was spotless and well-stocked, though a bit snug for six. The staff made us feel really welcome, but its a shame theres no shop on site. Still, wed come back!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was spotless and comfy. Kitchen was well-stocked, just needs more cutlery."
Emma Roberts - Jun 2024
"We enjoyed our stay overall, though finding nearby restaurants meant a 2-3 mile drive. Cooking in the lodge was an option, but since it's a holiday, we preferred eating out rather than cooking ourselves."
Emma - Apr 2024
"Beautiful lodge, very clean, staff friendly, loved it!"
Emma Carter - Apr 2024
"We had a lovely stay here and definitely plan to return. The site was spotless and well looked after, which made a big difference. The staff were all really friendly and seemed genuinely happy, which added to the welcoming vibe. The lodge was pristine and had everything we needed to kick off our holiday comfortably. Its a small, quiet place without lots of facilities, but thats what makes it ideal for relaxing. Plus, the field at the entrance for dog walks was a real bonus!"
Emma Roberts - Apr 2024
"Had a great holiday here park is amazing the lodges are Absolutely stunning and very new and luxurious with the added bonus of your own hot tub beds were very comfortable we stayed in 3 bedroom lodge 2 bedrooms en suite very spacious also extra bonus dog friendly too and dogs have there own field to walk around and it was kept clean as well lodges very clean and plenty of utensils for cooking truly amazing lodges staff extremely friendly and they did excellent job checking hot tubs for chemicals and topping them topped up with water as well the grounds were kept in excellent condition too it was that good we have already booked to come back we would definitely recommend these lodges the are so peaceful and relaxing and there’s plenty to do around Carlisle and surrounding areas plenty of shops too and great garden Center close by for a excellent breakfast or coffee and homemade cakes"
Douglas - Jul 2022
"Lodge was brand new, beautiful and modern, hot tub fabulous, beds were super comfy and the staff were helpful and friendly. Carlisle is only a short drive away, city is fab with lots of great shops and restaurants."
Leanne - Jul 2022
"We had a lovely weekend at Green Meadows Country Park in the Lakewood VIP Pet Lodge. The lodge was gorgeous, so modern and clean considering it was a pet lodge! The hot tub was a great addition and the water fountain at the front of the lodge made it very relaxing. Would highly recommend:)"
Miah - Jul 2022
"I would 100% recommend this park. Absolutely spotless caravan. Hot tub maintained daily. Complimentary bath robes, slippers, towels and a lovely bottle of cava on arrival. Cannot wait to go back"
Sharon - Jul 2022
"Beautiful and spotless lodge, super friendly staff. Great central location. Will definitely be back!"
Alyson - Jul 2022
"Very lovely holiday park and lodge. Staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. As the lodge was so new, there were a couple of things that needed sorting, but nothing that made our time any less enjoyable. Would definitely go back!!"
Lauren - Jul 2022
"We arrived later than planned to discover that the van we booked had been given to someone else But after a bit of time we were given another one no problem. The lodge was fine but felt there could have been a bit more facilities on site such as convenience shop, play park for kids and maybe a restaurant as you really had to drive into carlisle to get anything and better signposted from motorway The lodge could have had more hooks for hanging things back of bedroom door didn’t have any Apart from that good"
Catrina - Jul 2022
"Lovely environment, super clean and modern! Alison was very accommodating and a lovely welcoming Lady x"
Michelle - Jul 2022
"Fantastic lodge had everything that we needed. It a exceed our expectations lovely and clean and amazing hot tub. Can't wait to come back."

Attractions Near Green Meadows Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Green Meadows Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 3 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 21 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 22 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 28 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 28 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 34 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 39 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 39 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
